#diary of a bitch.

*Sighs

I'm currently stuck in traffic. I need to get to Ry before lunch break over, not that I wouldn't be allowed in afterwards though. He's just too damn busy and wrapped all around work recently, the only time I get to spend with him in 24 hours is a 15 minute break at the office. It's not like I'm complaining, I'm still trying to adjust to him not being around always like he used to before his dad passed away and the responsibility of handling Beth was given to him.

*Sighs.

It's been four years since the birth of Dayo, she's a very cute kid and she looks a lot like my late mum, but she's.... she's unable to talk. The doctors said she would eventually talk when triggered by something or someone, but it seems like ages now and she still hasn't been able to utter a single word. It saddens me that my daughter might never be able to say my name, but there's very little I can do.

I switched off the engine when I got to the parking lot and carried bag of lunch I've prepared with extra care, especially for us. I was kind of super nervous and at the same time, excited at the news I was about to share with Ry, we've been hoping for this good news for a while now.

I checked my wrist watch and sighed, it was five minutes to break over. Respectful greetings filled the air as I walked into the reception, I nodded impatiently and dashed towards the elevator, maybe because of my haste or my lack of attention to whoever it is that was coming out of the elevator, we collided and the lunch went flying, causing a mess on my tank top and jeans.

I was furious, even if I was probably at fault. I raised my head from the mess on my clothes to reprimand the idiot that caused this....this mess, but instead, my heart suddenly stopped working.

"Vee Vee?" He questioned, his face white like he had seen a ghost. I heard the voice ring in my head, up my brain was not responding.

"Hey!" I snapped out of my daze and figured the was holding me, I jerked out of his hold immediately.

"Who's Vee Vee?" I asked pretentiously, that was my only option. Deny and run!

"Sorry, I thought you were someone I know." Thank God, it worked. I sighed in relief, and entered the elevator.

"If you don't mind, can I know your name?" He asked as the elevator door slides shut.

"Bella." I blurted out the first name my panicked brain could think of before the door closes entirely.

He's back!, he's fucking back for.... me? How does he know Ry? and what is he doing here anyways. Does he know I am alive? Oh God! why is he here in the state? and precisely, why is he here at Beth? Maybe one of his acquaintance is an employee here, but I still need to warn Ry about him right?

I jogged to Ry's office the minute the elevator got to the top floor, not minding the astonished stares of the workers or the food stains on my cloth. I even forgot my manners and barged into his office, apparently, he was in a meeting. He was shocked to see my appearance but he ended the meeting all the same.

"I'm really sorry Mr. Cole, but I have personal issues to attend to. We'll discuss this over dinner tonight, thanks for your time." They both stood up and shook hands, the Mr. whatever he is passed by me with an interesting expression on his face, I didn't even acknowledge his salutation, I just wanted to talk to Ry.

"What has gotten into you Vee, you know I don't like you showing up at my office unannounced." He boomed as soon as the Mr. interesting expression was out of sight.

"And why are you like this?" He added.

I was about to say something when his telephone rang out.

"What?, okay... give me a few minutes." He frowned and turned to look at me.

"Ry, I have something to tell you." I began

"Whatever it is, I'm sure it can wait." He sat down on his swivel chair and started working on his laptop, not even sparing me a glance.

"It's very important." I pleaded, desperate for the tinniest attention.

"You're 'important' things always turns out to be very petty things." He pointed out bluntly, I was deeply hurt.

"This time it's –"

"I don't have time for this Vee, you know the pressure I'm going through now that I have to prove myself worthy, any 'important' thing you want to say, save it for dinner. I'm inviting business associates over for dinner tonight, we'll talk then, for now I have an important meeting to attend to. Get the secretary to clean you up and go home to prepare for the event, it's nothing fancy but I'd like them to have a taste of your delicacies. Talk to you later, I love you Vee." With that he placed a small kiss on my cheek and left the office, I smiled sadly at the irony. Well, at leat he's not going to sleep at the office this night. I'll just wait till dinner and tell him after hosting his associates.
