—Kizuna†Exceed, you have received multiple chat requests. Accept?

Kanata and Tsugumi called me while we were on our way to the first city.
It’s probably safe to assume that they’re calling about the Dimension Wave thing.
I was planning on calling them once we land, but I might as well do it while I’m helming the ship.

“Big bro! Are you okay?!”
“Are you safe, Kizuna?”

The two of them shouted in my ear at the same time.
Though this may be a game, it was still a huge deal.

“Yeah, we were at sea, but thanks to Shouko—one of my friends—I’m perfectly fine.”
“Oh, goodie! Though two of my party members died…”
“… three for your big sister.”
“That many?”

My sisters sounded a bit down as they told me their losses.
It sucks to have to count your dead teammates, I guess.
But still, that’s more deaths than I would’ve guessed.
Tsugumi and her party were probably fighting at the frontlines.
It wouldn’t be such a surprise if they had a few dead.
Maybe the sea cushioned our blow and that’s why we took relatively little damage. Rather… the incident happened over top of them, so I think our distance was the biggest factor.
If we had been thrown into a wall or something, we’d probably take more than just 2,000 damage. We should consider ourselves lucky.

“How are things over there now? We’re still at sea, so I have no idea what it’s like for you guys.”
“Sea? Like, the beach?”
“No, like the open sea.”
“You can go there? How did you do that?”
“What do you think? How would you cross the oceans in an RPG?”

It was a little sad to hear them go Oh, I see!
I mean, boats or ships aren’t that hard to imagine, right?

“Over here, things are… well, a bunch of people are trying to investigate what happened.”
“What do you mean ‘investigate’?”
“Well, the rift opened somewhere between the First and the Second, so maybe it opened up because of something that happened? That’s what a lot of people are theorizing anyway.”
“I see.”

Now that I think about it, we had no idea what the name of the game would mean for us, even though it’s clearly “Dimension Wave”.
Judging from the great fissure in the red skies, it’s very possible that there will be a large-scale raid.
We’ll need to do some research on it, regardless of whether we’ll participate or not.

“Can you come to the First, bro-bro?”
“I’m heading there right now.”
“Wanna meet up at the square where we spawned?”
“Sure. I’ll chat with you again when I get closer.”

—Private chat ended. Returning to regular chat.

I looked at the Shouko and the others after I hung up the phone.
Well, not phone, but chat.

“Wh-What?”
“A call from Tsugumi?”
“Yeah, and my older sister too.”
“You have an older sister as well?”
“Now that you mention it, I guess I never told you guys, huh? The three of us joined the game together.”
“Wherefore do ye not play separately?”
“Now that you mention it, I’m wondering that myself too.”

She’s got a point. The three of us siblings are all doing our own things.
We could’ve partied together, huh? I guess they left me to my own devices since I told them that I wanted to go fishing from the get-go.

“We’ll be meeting them once we land at the First.”
“I believe it is very important to make sure your family is safe.”
“Forsooth, Miss Shouko. In that case, do you want to go off alone?”
“Nah, you guys can come with me. It’s not like I’m in a rush to see them or anything.”

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t worry about them, but I don’t exactly have to go meet them this instant either.
They’re better at games than I am anyway. In fact, I’m surprised that we survived the Dimension Wave.
Plus, games love to kill of characters and players too.

“… you should go.”
“I’m sure they’re alright. They’re frontliners. They’re tough.”
“No. You should teleport back, Kizuna. Gather some intel for us.”

Hmm, that’s not a bad idea.
There was still some distance to cover with the sailboat. It’d be quicker using a Tome of Returning for sure.
We’d only need one of us to gather intel too.

“In that case, it doesn’t have to be me, right?”
“You know the most people out of all of us. You’re our best bet for getting info.”
“Yes, Sheryl is right. I think you would be best suited for this.”
“Aye. Verily, you are better than me at speaking to people.”

Well, they’re not wrong either. If I ask Tsugumi, Kanata, Alto, and Romina, I’d be able to get a pretty good grasp of the situation. Though I can’t help but feel like they’re getting me to do the tedious work. Frankly, I so easily agreed to it was because I love my sisters. Maybe I love them too much.

“Thanks. Then I’ll head on over first and see what I can learn. Call me when you guys get there.”
“‘kay.”

Any Spirit would usually have a few of these Tomes of Returning.
I usually carry three on me just in case I need an emergency escape route, but they aren’t cheap at 1,000 serin each…
No, I shouldn’t be stingy. Time is money, as they say.
1,000 serin is nothing compared to Dimension Wave.
And so, I selected the item from my inventory and hurried to the first city.
