Chris arrived at the hospital and parked his car, he came out with some polythene bags in his hands, he bought Sophie some fruits. He marched into the building as he reached Sophie's room, he stopped and hesitated a bit. He remembered what happened earlier when Sophie's mother came. But he took a deep breath and went in anyways. As he opened the he noticed a woman sitting, it was Sophie's mother, but he didn't feel worried at all as walked towards her.
How is she feeling?; Chris asked with a calm voice
Mrs. John was startled and she turned to see who it was, she was less anxious when she saw Chris. Sophie heard his voice, so she tried to open her eyes to see who it was.
What are you doing here, i told you to never come back; Mrs. John said with anger on her face as she straighten her body.
I told you this wasn't my..... ; Chris stopped as he saw Sophie opening her eyes.
Sophie woke up, he suddenly dropped the bags in his hands and went to see her. He held her hand but she couldn't say a word except the tears that rolled down her cheek. He started feeling guilty about it again, he blamed himself from the beginning and his conscious is still not clear. He held her hand for a long time with his head facing the floor. He couldn't look at Sophie's face because he couldn't bear to see her like that. After a while, he realised Sophie went back to sleep, he let go off her hand and stood up to leave he touched her face softly and said;"Am sorry" in his mind.
I will be back tomorrow; he told Mrs. John as he opened the door to leave.
He went to where he parked his car and stood for a while, he remembered his father's offer, he thought for a while and he nodded his head as he went into the car and drove home.

He arrived home at 7:30pm, as he entered the house. He perceived an aroma he couldn't resist, dinner was being served. He didn't even go to his room, he went straight to the dining room. Beatrix was already there waiting for their father.
Hey sis, had a fun day?; Chris asked while taking off his jacket and walking up to the dining table.
Chris!; she screamed as she rush to embrace him.
She hugged him and they both laughed as they walk up to the table. Coincidentally his father was coming down the stairs to join them to but he didn't notice them because he was making a call.
Good evening father; Chris greeted coldly as his father ended the call and pull his chair to sit.
Mmmm!; he just nodded as he sat down.
They all sat at the table and the butler began to serve the food, the table was quiet until Chris broke the silence.
I have made a decision father; Chris said as he looked at his father.
I see you took your time, so what do you think?; his father asked looking serious(as usual)
Am sorry but i can't accept this offer, something came up and it needs my complete attention. And i don't think am responsible enough to handle such a big role father, please try to understand; Chris answered in a low tone .
Well i expected that answer; his father replied with a smile on his face not feeling disappointed at all.
"Huh"; Chris and Beatrix said in chorus for they were both surprised.
Don't worry about it son, i know you think you are not ready but i want you to know i have complete faith in you. You are a man now, and you can make your own decisions; his father said with a smile on his face.
They all finished eating, everyone went to bed except Chris who sat in his room thinking about Sophie's situation, suddenly...
"RINGGGGGG" .... His phone rang.
"Who could be calling me this late"; he thought.
As he picked up he saw it was Nathan, he was so happy to see his name.
Ahhh, just the man i needed to talk to. Nathan, how are you doing; Chris spoke calmly.
This is the fifth time you shot someone, you have to stop doing that; Nathan replied angrily.
Wow wow wow relax tiger, didn't u see the evidence i left?, he deserved to be punished; Chris answered jokingly.
Yea he deserved to be punished but by the law and the way i see it you are not the law. I can't keep favouring you Chris; Nathan spoke frustrated.
Cmon you know i don't do it for no reason, but since its you. OK i will stop but no promises; Chris said sincerely
Are you serious?; Nathan asked sarcastically
Cmon relax. Okay there is one more person, Thomas's cousin, Tim Evans lives at Amazon st. house No. 23; Chris replied with a cold voice.
OK i will see to it tomorrow; Nathan replied
"They talked for a bit before Chris got tired."
Well i have to sleep, i have a meeting tomorrow morning; Chris told Nathan as he yawned.
OK bye Mr. Corporate; Nathan replied as they both laughed an hung up the call.
I am having a feeling tomorrow is my lucky day, well we shall see; Chris thought to himself as he lay down to sleep.
