Zhang Che hadn't realized how abnormal his thoughts were.

Everything that had happened on the island was outrageous to such a degree; anyone with average intelligence who witnessed it would feel that something was amiss, and might even feel their blood run cold, their hair standing on end.

Even so, the current Zhang Che wasn't thinking straight. All he had in mind was to snatch the bewitching flower on the island, wanting to see if it could be used to cure his mother's illness.

Before the Purple Jade Condor reached the island, every single ugly fish creature was annihilated by the severely injured flying tiger. After which, this walking corpse-like exotic beast turned into a diligent gardener once more, grabbing and throwing the corpses of the ugly fish creature towards the center of the island.

It was likely that the flying tiger realized its days were numbered, or that the digestive powers of the huge bewitching flower's vines had grown stronger. This time, the flying tiger didn't dissect the corpses of the ugly fish creatures. Instead, it directly threw them close to the center of the island.

Following the tossing of the corpses, countless vines shot out, extending like tentacles and coiled around the corpse of an ugly fish creature, withdrawing back to the rest of the flower and quickly devouring it.

At this moment, it looked as if the bewitching flower had turned into a terrifying tentacle monster, sending a chill down any witnesses' spine.

However, Zhang Che didn't sense anything amiss. At this moment, his pupils were completely red, having only a single thought in his head, and that was to get his hands on the flower!

Near the end of its life, the flying tiger burst into motion. Its figure flashed about, rushing to throw all the corpses to the center before the Purple Jade Condor reached the island.

After completing the task, the flying tiger actually threw its body into the bunch of vines, allowing the countless glistening emerald green leaves to completely envelope it.

Zhang Che, finally stepping foot on this island, treated as if none of that strange scene had happened, walking further into the center of the island, his eyes confused.

All of the vines were cheering. The hundred corpses of the ugly fish creatures allowed them to have a full meal, the leaves on the vines looked full of life, like a crystal clear jade, emanating a faint layer of glow.

"Haha, this flower is finally mine!" Zhang Che mumbled unconsciously as he got closer and closer to the center of the island.

Suddenly, the petals on the huge bewitching flower on top of the vines, which had grown to over two meters in length, moved by themselves without any wind. They resembled a gentle female dancer, dancing a soft dance, giving off a sense of mysterious beauty.

A stronger mysterious wave than before spread out from the flower, causing the nearing Zhang Che to thoroughly lose his awareness.

The Purple Jade Condor hovering in the sky suddenly let out a sharp cry, but was directly recalled back into the spiritual sea by Zhang Che with a wave of his hand.

The Swamp Crocodile King armor enveloping him was in his way as well, and turned into a streak of light, returning to the middle of his brow.

Facing the beckoning of the huge flower, Zhang Che even stripped off his combat suit. When he finally came in front of the flower, he was no longer wearing a single piece of clothing, standing fully naked before it, like just being born into the world from his mother's womb.

Come… come, child. Return to your mother's embrace...

In his muddled state, it seemed as if a comforting call found its way directly into Zhang Che's soul, and he continued taking steps forward. He stepped past the lush vines, walking straight up to the fully bloomed bewitching flower.

Zhang Che's gaze was completely blurred. He stopped in front of the huge flower, looking at the petals with a devout expression. The pattern on each of the petals formed a smiling face. Zhang Che shut his eyes lightly, his expression calm as water as he raised his left foot lightly, stepping on the fragile-looking, yet incomparably tenacious petal.

The heart of the flower was fully blooming for Zhang Che, opening the way for him to walk into. After that, he slowly squatted down and curled himself into a ball like an unborn baby, the corners of his lips raised gently into an infatuated smile.

The heart of the flower gradually closed up, enveloping Zhang Che entirely.

On the outer petals, the creepy human-faced patterns were showing bright smiles, as if a wave of silent, unrestrained laughter was spreading. The petals closed in towards the middle one after another, forming a huge flower bud in the end.

If anyone were to witness this incomparably strange scene, they would surely scream out in shock.

However, no other living creature saw any of this.

Every creature who was involved in this was dead without a corpse remaining, including the terrifyingly powerful flying tiger... except for Zhang Che, who was enveloped in the heart of the flower.

The bloomed flower stopped going with the law of nature, and returned to a round flower bud. The lush vines underneath it started emitting streaks of emerald green light, which poured madly into the flower bud.

Not long afterwards, the verdant leaves on the vines started withering, turning into ashes in the end, and scattering all over the ground.

After that, the originally vigorous vines started turning yellow, gradually withering. In the end, they looked like a piece of rotten wood that was covered in dust for an immeasurably long time, and were suddenly assaulted by a gust of wind, silently turning into piles of ash.

The center of the island was left with only the extremely round flower bud standing straight in place silently, not fitting in with its surroundings.

Ever since entering the heart of the flower, Zhang Che felt like a baby who had returned to his mother's womb, surrounded by an incomparable sense of comfort, waves of warm vitality gushing into his body.

As the warm energy surged violently, Zhang Che felt like he had truly turned into an infant, absorbing that energy crazily, his body growing stronger.

After an indeterminate amount of time passed, the energy entering his body started to lessen, and Zhang Che felt as if he had grown into a giant. His entire body was filled with limitless energy, able to reach for the stars and the moon!

Right at this moment, a sudden change occurred.

A huge mass of pure spiritual energy suddenly surged into Zhang Che's spiritual sea. The spiritual energy contained an extremely pure, yet devious consciousness, which began devouring Zhang Che's soul!

At this moment, Zhang Che was finally jolted awake!

He had no idea what happened. He subconsciously knew he had to avoid the pursuit of that forceful spiritual energy, but rapidly realized that his spiritual sea had become its home ground. No matter where he tried to run, the invading consciousness could surround him from all sides.

Zhang Che tried to move his body, but discovered, to his astonishment, that his mind was detached from his physical body, and he couldn't move.

A deep sense of powerlessness permeated him, but his natural will for survival pushed him to continue avoiding the pursuit of that spiritual energy.

The path available to him grew increasingly narrow. The area around his mind was fully occupied by that mass of spiritual energy… when suddenly, the rainbow crystal silently hanging in the air above his spiritual sea began to emit strong rays of rainbow light.

It was like snow meeting sunlight. The invading mind trying to devour Zhang Che's soul suddenly let out a soundless, desperate shriek after the boundless rainbow rays shone down on it, rapidly disintegrating, and was gone in an instant from Zhang Che's spiritual sea.

At that moment, Zhang Che fell into a timeless sleep...
