Chapter 99: Chapter 99 - Childish

Su Bai looked around, then lowered his head and headed to the bed. He was acting naturally and calm, as if he had accepted his fate. But only he himself knew that his reactions were activated to the almost extent, and his breath had become longer.

The person seemed to be finally satisfied with Su Bai’s attitude. The hand was back, but next, there came a grinding sound. Su Bai frowned slightly.

She was grinding her teeth!

Su Bai had pictured the woman in bed as ugly as possible, but now… it seemed that he hadn’t even gotten close to that. What the hell was that woman that could make such a rasping, grinding sound?

Just when Su Bai was close enough to make another surprise attack, a vibration came from the distance. Immediately, a mess of black mist burst out from the bed and knocked Su Bai down. Su Bai gasped. She could hit him with merely intangible energy, how could he manage another surprise attack?

In the mist, there appeared a woman, but the lower part of her body was like a fox; both of her legs were covered by brown fur, and her paws were grasping the bed like clamps. However, between her legs, her private part was like a red mouth that squirmed and kept opening and closing in a mess of hair.

It was like a mouth! Su Bai believed that even an elephant’s penis would be chopped into bits if put in that red mouth.

"Why… isn’t… that… monk… dead?"

The mist leapt up, and so did the woman. At last, she flew away to take care of the incident outside before enjoying her toy-boy.

Su Bai was left by himself in the room. He put his palm together and said Amitabh. He thanked Seven, although he didn’t know what he had done; otherwise, he would be in real trouble.

He stood up, tore off the red silk strips, and walked to the bed. There were rags everywhere, but under them were dried feces and mixture of shit and piss. Apparently, that fox demon had been feeding and sleeping and excreting and even having sex on this bed. It smelled terrible beyond description.

However, among all the filthy stuff, Su Bai saw something strange. It looked sharp with a special gloss. So he climbed up onto the bed, stepped into the filth, crouched down, held his breath and stretched out his hand to pull it out, despite almost throwing up. And it was a black dagger stuck in the bed, surrounded by a pile of white powder.

Su Bai felt the powder, and remembered the grinding sound he had heard. So the fox demon was grinding her teeth on this dagger? And these were her teeth powder?

For a long time, Su Bai was unsatisfied about his weak attacks as a vampire. He had to wait until this story world ended before having enough story points for that Hellfire shotgun, and he had no proper weapon at hand for the time being. Therefore, he had to take all the injuries during every fight, which made him really awkward and helpless.

A dagger, especially one with obvious magic, was something Su Bai had taken into consideration along with Hellfire shotgun. But now, he found one without any trouble.

He grabbed the dagger and pulled it up. Now, it was time to find a way out. He knew Seven was full of skills, but the fox demon went in person so Seven wouldn’t linger for too long, because the fox was too powerful. However, Su Bai didn’t follow the fox demon or try to rescue Seven. Under such circumstances, they should mind their own business first; for now, his priority was to escape.

He looked up; it seemed to be the only direction possibly leading outside, except for the path through which he was carried in, where he might run into the returning fox demon or other evil stuff. The tentacle or the blood stream alone was difficult enough.

Su Bai jumped off the bed and went to a rock wall. It was smooth, with no pit or dent, or anything to grab for climbing. It was impossible to climb up with bare hands, but Su Bai found a rope hanging there like some sort of decoration. In fact, it must be a decoration, because it was made with tied viper skins— colorful skins from extremely venomous vipers.

He pulled it to test its bearing capacity, and found that it was quite a strong rope. Without hesitation, he grabbed the robe with both hands, stepped against the wall and started to climb.

Concerning the fox demon might come back, Su Bai tried his best to go as fast as possible. At length, when he looked down at the bed, it looked quite small due to the distance. And Seven was doing a great job holding the fox demon, for she hadn’t returned after such a long time.

The higher he got, the narrower the space became. Su Bai’s back was already rubbing against the wall on the opposite side, thus moving faster with the help of friction from both under his feet and behind his back.

And the walls were no longer smooth; there were small holes. Su Bai wasn’t sure if he was climbing into a snake nest, but even if he was, it would still be a better option to die instantly than to be tortured in that dirty bed by the fox demon.

Climb, climb; climb up to the top and talk later!

Suddenly, Su Bai heard a rustling sound from about one meter below. Then, a human head reached out from one of the holes on the walls. It was a man in his modern gym suit; apparently, he was an audience, not the original resident in this story world.

The hole was so small that the man had to crawl on his arms and knees. He looked around and found Su Bai.

"Help! Bring me with you, get me out of here, please! Please! I’m begging you! God’ll bless you for your kindness, really!"

The man looked at Su Bai with a pleading look. His body was all scratched up; there was no way to tell if they were new scratches or old injuries, but clearly the man was so desperate that he was at the edge of a mental breakdown.

Su Bai didn’t answer him, just went on climbing upwards. For now, all he had in his mind was to keep going, and get out as soon as possible. The only hope for him was that the fox demon wouldn’t be able to locate him out there after she was back.

Now Su Bai was only dozens of meters away from the top of the crack; it had come to the last stage of his long journey.

Besides, Su Bai was seeing Buddhist images and scriptures carved on the walls, which convinced Su Bai that it might be the key point of keeping the fox demon under control.

However, he felt a shaking from the rope. He looked down and found it was the man in the hole that was pulling the rope with all his strength. He was staring at Su Bai with a hateful look.

"My leg’s hurt, I can’t climb up by myself, but you can carry me! If you don’t… Ha, you’ll die with me!"

Apparently, the rope could only support one person’s weight, and the man was pulling it down on purpose. Su Bai could even felt the rope was getting loose from where it was tied to.

Su Bai put on a hesitating look and nodded with a little panic. "You should get out and grab my waist, so I can pull you up."

The man was satisfied with Su Bai’s attitude. He crawled out of the hole, gripped the rope with both hands and managed to climb up a bit. His right leg was dripping in blood; clearly, it was badly hurt.

He reached out for Su Bai, but Su Bai didn’t reached out for him; instead, Su Bai climbed up a little to get away from him.

The man went mad; he swayed the rope with the weight of his body; the rope was getting looser and looser.

"If I die, I won’t let you survive! You’ll die with me! Ha ha ha ha! How dare you fool me like that? How dare you!"

The man was staring at Su Bai while swaying around. Apparently, he thought he could change Su Bai’s mind by threatening, because Su Bai would want to live.

Su Bai blinked at the man who was swaying around like a mad dog.

Then he reached out to his waist, pulled out that dagger and gently cut the rope beneath his other hand.

The rope broke right beneath Su Bai.

And then…

… it fell down.

Along with it, fell the guy that had been swaying.

He couldn’t believe what happened. Suddenly, he realized how childish and stupid his threat was…
