Where is Haruka going to take her? She's excited. Lila peered at the window as she hummed a melody, it surprised her when she saw his car. Lila didn't think he would bring it; she just assumed they'd be taking a stroll around the park and the shops in the nearby area. But after they did that, Haruka said there was somewhere he wanted to take her. For the last few minutes since entering, however, Haruka hasn't said a word to her. Lila thought that was only natural, considering how he said to her earlier that he didn't feel like speaking.
So, when he suddenly kissed her out of the blue. Lila didn't know what to think. His abrupt kisses always contained so much passion, and by the end of it she's always left breathless, "Har-Haru," Lila stammered.
"Oops, the light is green," he quickly turned to the wheel.
Lila hid her face with her hands, 'how stupid,' all of this felt so very stupid to her. Why is she getting nervous after everything that's happened between them? After all this time, she's getting nervous now? Weren't there plenty of other moments where she could have gotten nervous?
Still, Lila looked over at the man at the driver's seat. This guy is her boyfriend, so her feeling this way isn't unusual. Boyfriend, huh? Lila felt like their relationship wasn't that of a normal couple anymore. So, what type of relationship do they have with each other now? No matter how much Lila thought about it, she couldn't come up with an answer.
Or maybe it's because she agreed to be his wife? If she thought about it carefully, things between the two of them started to change drastically from that point onwards. Lila didn't think anything would change after she agreed to be with his wife; she thought things would remain the way they have this whole time. But that was stupid of her. She may be sixteen, but even she should understand how serious the situation is. Agreeing to be his wife, it was a commitment. A much stronger commitment than the one they have now.
Haruka's behavior and his expectations of her aren't strange at all. She's the one who is acting strangely; she isn't doing a good job showing him that she is serious. But, part of the reason why she is so uneasy is because of the reckless actions he takes. When they kissed earlier in the park, Lila didn't notice anything unusual about him. While he heavily reeked of alcohol, that's all it was. If he touched another woman, Lila would know right away how one would ask. It's simple, a hanyou's scent, especially those from her lineage, have a stronger sense of smell than most.
If Haruka really slept with Aizawa Mei when he returned to the bar, then she would know. However, it was not like that at all. She could not detect that scent, nor did she see any markings. Whenever they kiss, it always somehow ends up with well them removing their clothing slightly, and from what she saw, there was nothing. Lila deeply sighed, in the first place, why is such a thought crossing her mind? Haruka wouldn't do something like sleep with another woman. She already knows his circumstances.

"They worry you that much?"

"Rather than tell you, maybe you should just meet them."

Haruka nodded, "I'd rather not hide things from you, but I'll warn you, you might not like them."
Lila refrained from saying, 'I won't like them any better if all I hear is rumors,' she didn't want to decide things based on what she's heard from other people. But there are reliable sources like Jae-hee who has been friends with Haruka forever, and quote in her words, 'They aren't people who you would trust to have your back,' after hearing that it's only natural she would start assuming things. But of course all Lila could do was speculate, it's not like she can voice out her thoughts.
A deep sigh passed her lips; this is a complicated situation.
It doesn't help that today Haruka looks more handsome than he usually does.
She shook her head quickly, don't get distracted just because he looks and smells nice. Lila realized how silly she was acting and slapped her cheeks, "Stupid, stupid," Lila repeated over and over.
Haruka's lips curve to an amused smile, "I wonder what is so stupid dearest?"
He wonders? He knows! Lila shook her head frantically but felt Haruka's piercing gaze on hers. This isn't fair, why is it that he can make her feel so nervous in just a matter of seconds? Still, Lila stared at him, "Say, Haruka?"
"Yeah?"
"I wanted to ask you something," she murmured.
"Hold that thought, let's stop by here for a second," Lila looked over and noticed a restaurant, "I'll get them to pack us some dinner,"
"Were eating out today?"
Haruka smiled, "Today, we have a nighttime date, Princess, you'll be glad," he reached over and squeezed her hands, "Be good and don't run away."
"I—I won't do that."
Haruka only laughed as he got out of the car.
'Runaway, huh?' Lila thought. What a stupid thought process. If she wanted to run away, there were plenty of other occasions where she could have done that already. But Lila never once did that, even though before they were dating each other. Haruka always acted so cruelly and cold to her. He was a real bully, and yet she never once thought to run away. They had numerous fights with each other. But to escape? To leave his side? It was too much of a horrifying thought for her.
If she had such thoughts when they weren't dating, imagine her current mindset? No matter what anybody says about their relationship, she won't leave him ever. This love she has with Haruka is far complex than the one she had with Kiryu. But then again with Kiryu, she always failed to address the important issues. Even though they had their fair share of problems, she dismissed it and pretended nothing was wrong. Kiryu was the same, too; he never said a word. The two of them lived in their own safety bubble of protection.
With Haruka, she can't act as carefree and spoilt like she did in the past with Kiryu. With Haruka, she has to confront the issues that she would generally avoid.
