The man stood up, and he brushed his hand against her cheek, "Careless girl, now do you understand what I told you before? Never let your guard down, even for a moment."
Lila looked down at her feet, ashamed. Indeed, last night, she certainly let her guard down. Lila didn't think about the consequences of being so far away from Soichiro's sphere of protection, alongside her Mothers. It was only natural for them to tell Soichiro everything that happened; otherwise, there would be flaws in the story. Of course, this included Haruka's conversation with Aizawa Mei.
"..I won't offer any excuses, this is completely my fault."

Soichiro clicked his tongue in annoyance, "I knew I shouldn't have left her to you," he trailed off, "But I thought your feelings for her were sincere."

"Oh? Then how did such a careless mistake happen? You didn't have to disclose the location of your date to turn down another girl's dinner invitation. It's like your giving the other girl false hope with your words. By telling her where you are going, you're showing it's okay if she showed up there."
Lila could see the troubled look on Haruka's face increase; he clearly didn't intend for it to be that way. Though she didn't want to use her voice too much, Lila spoke up, "I don't blame Haruka," because she really doesn't. Even if this didn't happen now, eventually it would have. It just happened earlier than it was supposed to.
Soichiro, however, didn't listen and continued with his con ending words, "First, while I did agree that we could use you and sway you to our side. I didn't think it was necessary for you to be dating for that to happen. I knew from the beginning her going out with you would be a bad idea. You and her live in completely different worlds and you're only after her body. You don't actually love her."
Her eyes darkened, and she glared at Soichiro. How dare he say such things? How dare he belittle Haruka's feelings for her. It's one thing to blame him about what happened but to disregard everything completely. Sure as a couple she's had a lot of sex with Haruka, but Lila never saw it as an issue. She liked being held by him; she loves it when he calls her name and touches her. The two of them are dating, so it's only natural for them to do those things. Sure at times, it may seem excessive; however, that's never really been an issue for her.
And his stupid plan? Lila only went along with it as a pretense. From the very start, she used Soichiro so she could make contact with Haruka. With dark eyes and a cold tone, she spoke up, "Are you finished?"
"...you really will go against me? Just for this man? You'll break our agreement?"
"Yes," she doesn't care about the agreement they had any more. If he's going to harm Haruka, then she doesn't need him. His protection? Who needs it, she can protect herself.
"Don't be stupid; this man is not worth your time."
"Keep saying things like that, and you'll make this situation a lot worse," Lila countered, "I mean you, listen to yourself. You're so nosy, whatever reason Haruka chose me and why I chose him is none of your concern. We have sex a lot? Sure, of course, we do, were a couple. "I've already made plenty of mistakes in our relationship, and yet Haruka is still here with me," Lila said, her voice sharper than ever, "Haruka loves me, he cares a lot about me. Sure our relationship isn't exactly the best, and I'll admit we have our fair share of problems. But those problems are for us to solve. Outsiders and third parties shouldn't butt in."
"Oh? I'm suddenly a third party?"

"Interesting," Soichiro laughed, "Very interesting, don't you remember exactly why you met Karashima Haruka again? Need I remind you? I was the one who sent him to Star Town last year if it weren't for me you two wouldn't have seen each other again. Because this man would not have summoned up the courage to see you."
"Oh, I remember," Lila said mockingly, "I remember how last year your brother got out of control and started attacking my friends. How you sent Haruka to spy on me, but your plan failed because he didn't divulge any information to you."
"And may I ask how you know that?"
"Because," she turned to Haruka who was looking at her with wide eyes, "I believe in him, I believed in the feelings he showed me back then. Even though I couldn't return them, and even though I was with Kiryu then. I knew he would never betray me."
From the very start, she understood. If it's this person, he would never leave her. He would stand by her side.
Before Lila could say the words, 'I quit,' Haruka clasped his hand over her mouth. He bowed towards Soichiro, "She isn't feeling well right now as you can see. We will come back another day to discuss things," with those words said Haruka dragged her out of the room.
He didn't stop even when they got to the bottom floor; it was only when they exited the building did Haruka let go of her wrist.
"Why did you do that? Are you crazy? You need his help right now?" Haruka scolded her.
Lila looked at him dumbfounded, is this man serious? He's lecturing her? She did that for him.
Due to straining her voice earlier, Lila couldn't get any words out. But her actions and her body language must have conveyed it since she extended her hands out - urging Haruka to hug her.
"Geez, don't cry," Haruka brushed his fingers across her, eyelids, "Don't cry, I get it. I get it, but you really do need help to you. He controls the entire underground world for a reason. I'm aware he's been shielding you since your debut too."
Lila knew that very well; she's very grateful to him. It's because Soichiro has been looking out for her this whole time that she was able to get to where she is now. But even so, "I love you," Lila managed to say, "That's why I won't let anybody harm you."
Haruka's gaze softened, "Your silly dearest, why do you love me so much, hmmm? Maybe it's the sex after all," Lila hits him, and he laughed, "I know if it was just that. I could never give you my heart; it's because your different from all the other women out there that we are together now."
Ah, "If I weren't different, you wouldn't like me?"
"Hmm, I wonder, well," Haruka trailed off, "Maybe it would have taken me much longer to find you."
Lila rolled her eyes, "But our parents introduced us two when we were younger," she paused, "Ah, maybe you wouldn't have realized how irresistible and cute I am."
Haruka laughed, "You really are cute, you know? I want to eat you up."
"Then why aren't you? No people around, secluded spot," Lila pointed out.
He seemed amused with her suggestion and wrapped his arms around her waist, "Still haven't had enough of me, eh?"

"Mmm, your learning," he kissed her eyelids, and nose before pressing his lips on hers, "But, let's do that when we get in the car. I'd probably get killed if I did something to you here."
"Okay, let's go."

Once they were done making out heavily, Haruka buried his face in her chest, "I'm afraid to lose you," he murmured.
"You won't lose me. I'll always be with you."

Lila nodded and repeated his words, "As your wife," but it's true that those people would really stop at nothing to tear them apart from each other. Honestly, she was surprised, Lila was always under the impression that they wanted her alive. However, it seems like that isn't the case here; she doesn't know what they did to her voice. But they should know if she were to lose her ability to sing, then her life is as good as gone.
"What are you thinking, my dear?"
Lila's gaze softened, "What do you want to eat for lunch? I have the day off, now right?"
"Lunch, huh. And yeah you do," Lila didn't have to ask about his schedule. She knew it off by heart; he didn't have work today, Haruka suddenly paused before he said, "I have.."
"I know you have plans, but can we still eat lunch together and can I go with you?"
"Huh, you want to tag along?"
Why does he seem surprised? "Didn't you say you'd introduce me to your friends? This is the perfect time, right?"
Haruka paused, "Yeah, I said that. But today is kind of..."
Lila tugged on his hand, "Please? I don't want you to leave my side today, I'm scared," okay so the last line is a complete lie. Scared? Why does she have to be afraid? Voice or not, she can still hurt those people.
