Lila woke up due to the bright rays of light entering the room through the opened window.

"Unnnngh, Haruka?" Lila called out and saw her husband sat down on the couch with a guitar in hand. Papers and pen on his lap.

"Go back to sleep."

"Hubby, what are you doing? Why aren't you joining me," Lila was very puzzled? It isn't like Haruka to miss out on cuddling time.

Haruka smiled, "I'm just finishing up some work. You rest up for a bit."

Work? Lila wanted to look, but from where she laid down, she couldn't see much.

"Hubby, I'm cold."

Laughter passed his lips, "You're really selfish. Well, I guess it's fine." He stood up and brought the papers over.

"Music!" Lila said happily once she saw the scores. What kind of song is Haruka writing now? "Is this for DEVIL too?"

Haruka sighed, "Well, you do spend awfully a lot of your time worrying about other men who aren't me," he mumbled before taking the scores from her. He suddenly pulled her back down onto the bed.

"Uh?"

"I want to do silly things with my wife."

He's so shameless! But well, it's better than him not paying attention to her. Besides the attention he currently gave on her lips and her neck.. it was very nice.

"Nngh. ...."

"Lila, don't make that cute sound..."

Whenever she is like this with Haruka, she feels connected. But is this the only thing that connects them? That makes her sad. Lila ran her hand through his hair but eventually stopped.

"You don't look like you're into it again, am I doing something wrong?"

"No." He isn't, of course, he isn't. But she's starting to think that maybe she should listen to Eita-san more. What if something happens to her before the competition ends?

"Lila, let's stop."

"Eh?"

Haruka drew back and ran his hand through his hair. He seemed bothered, but he indeed didn't try to touch her again.

"That's not it, Haruka, don't misunderstand...I.."

He gently kissed her forehead, "I already heard your conversation. It's okay if we don't do it every day. Don't feel pressured to do that."

Pressured? That isn't it at all. But maybe deep down, she's always felt that way. Doing it with Haruka every day. She thought it was only natural. Whenever he kisses her, things get heated up in a matter of seconds. Lila never thought to stop him. Why would she stop him? Being wanted and accepted. She wanted to find the quickest way to form a deep connection with this person.

It wasn't until later on their relationship did she realize how unhealthy that mindset was. Their relationship started off strangely, but Lila had every intention in making it right. She won't allow anybody to intervene in that. Lila snuggled up against him, and Haruka smiled.

"I'm okay with cuddling, how about you?"

Lila nodded, and he laid them both down. She reached out and played with his hair.

"Lila, is there anything else you want to talk to me about?"

"Anything else?"

"I know you've been crying a lot at night, are you...fine?"

How does he know about that? They haven't been with each other properly since the plan started. Lila looked at him puzzled before she lets out a large, "Ahhh!"

"Hm?"

"You, you've been coming by?" Lila mumbled.

"Yeah, I figured you'd be lonely. But every time I came, you were already sleeping."

So that's why she felt Haruka's warmth whenever she woke up, "You'd attack me?"

His lips curve into a smile, "I'd give you a few kisses and cuddle for a bit before heading out."

"A few kisses?"

Haruka cupped her cheeks, "Yeah, a few kisses."

"What kind of kisses?"

"Mmm, depends," Haruka trailed off. "Wifey, I know you want to do things. But your body is weak now. Rest."

But, she wants to feel his warmth. She wants to be certain that she isn't dreaming. That he is here with her. Haruka caressed her cheeks for a few minutes before drawing his hand back. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close.

"Haruka, are you tired? You should sleep too."

"I have some work to do. Once your sleeping, I'll get back to it."

"Did I disturb you? I'm sorry."

"No, I needed a break."

"Haruka, we haven't been like this in so long."

Haruka laughed, "Well, we've both been busy. Are you alright these days? How is training? Your health is bad right; maybe you should take some time off?"

"I'm okay, Haruka, but I'd like to see you a bit more," she plays with their inter winded fingers.

Haruka bent over and kissed her forehead. "If I see you more, we will have problems wife. But, it seems like you don't mind it."

"I don't…"

"About your condition, I hope from now on; you tell me these things."

Lila looked down, "But, I don't want you to worry. Your already burdened with so many things." She doesn't want him to spend unnecessary effort on her.

"It's no problem at all. This is you were talking about, why would it be an issue. So tell me how about how bad it is?"

"Well," Lila bit her lip. She doesn't want Haruka to know because she knew what his reaction would be. He would try to stop her from competing. But it's better, to be honest. She can't hide this from him forever.

When she finally finished telling him everything, it was apparent he wasn't happy. His expression darkened.

"Haruka?"

"I won't stop you from competing. But if it ever gets terrible, just tell me, okay?"

"Okay," Lila nodded and laughed. "You look very troubled. Why don't you just say what your thinking?"Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.webnovel.com for visiting.

Haruka sighed, "Well, when it comes to music, I know better than to stop you. Even at the cost of your health, you'll still sing, so there is no point in me saying anything."

'Music is important, yes.' For her, it was the thing that saved her during her loneliest days. The days where she had nobody, not even Kiryu coming over and seeing her every day, could fill the loneliness in her heart. Her mother's absence during her childhood hit her hard. Lila didn't realize how badly it affected her until she got into middle school. Now that she thought about it, she had her first break down about it in front of Haruka.

She wonders if he remembers that. All those emotions she had bottled up over the past few years came spilling out. It was embarrassing for her. That was the first time she cried so much in front of another person. She was worried that he would hate her. There are risks involved opening your heart to someone after all.

"Say," Lila mumbled. "Haruka?"

"Mmmm?"

"I want you to be honest with me about something…"

"Alright."

"Since we started going out, you haven't seen any other girls, right?"

"What brought this on?" he was fully awake now.

"It's just, there were some occasions back in London where it felt like you might have…" she couldn't finish her sentence since Haruka hugged her tightly. "Haruka?"

"I'm sorry for making you feel so uneasy and uncertain. But I can promise you. Since we started dating, I've had no such relationships with other girls …" Haruka trailed off. "No such relationships, yes. But I'll admit that I haven't been stopping them from kissing me."

Kissing? But Haruka's lips are hers. No, that isn't the point here.

"Why?"

"Well, for me, it's nothing. Those things, they don't mean anything to me."

They don't mean anything? But for those other girls, if Haruka lets them keep kissing him. They will surely have other ideas.

"Next time, can you stop them? I know you don't understand it, and you have no ill intentions. But it isn't good, Haruka."

"Yeah, I realized it already. So, I don't let them anymore."

She recalled what happened with Sophia at the hospital. "Really?"

"If you're talking about earlier, nothing happened."

"Okay."

"Wife, you don't believe me?"

"Well, you have to prove it."

"Then wife, I'll prove it," Haruka shifted their positions until he was hovering over her. "What does my wife want to see? You can check everywhere."

Lila blushed, "In this position, you're the one doing the checking.."

"Then, my wife wants to go on top?"

Aaagh, this shameless man. Her thoughts broke off when she felt Haruka's lips on her legs again.

"Uh, what are you doing?"

"Being gentle," he murmured against her legs, "Wife is sick, I have to be careful."

"D--don't do it like this, it's too embarrassing." Lila wanted to hide, 'Why does this feel so different?' Rather, isn't there something wrong with her, blushing like an idiot like this.

Haruka placed gentle kisses on her stomach, "But I like this. My wife, are you comfortable?"

This is embarrassing. Why does he keep talking like this? Normally, normally he would -- he would just… Lila clenched the sheets with her hands, and Haruka smiled. "Something wrong? Where is your pretty voice?"

"Quit teasing me, I...I don't know what to think."

"Is it that different wife? I've always wanted to treat you like this."

Always? Lila wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer. "Then, why didn't you?" she mumbled in his ear. Lila didn't know he was holding back with her. She thought that by now, they were completely honest, at least when it concerns their desires.

Haruka responded by gently caressing her hair and laying her back down. "Since my wife wants me to show her how much I love her, then I shall."
