Yet, when Lila does things like this. Kiryu doesn't know how to react. Why would she waste her precious voice singing for him? The two of them aren't dating anymore. She can sing for other people now; she doesn't have to feel obliged to sing for him anymore. She doesn't have to put on a front, and yet Kiryu saw how she was desperately trying to hide her tears. He wanted to hug her when he saw her like that. Kiryu wanted nothing more than to hug her tightly, to whisper in her ear that things will be okay.

"So, what are you going to do? Give up?" Shichiro asked.

"Hah, I don't know anymore," Kiryu mumbled. Nothing makes sense to him anymore. Since he decided to let go of Lila's hand that time, nothing made sense. After she left, Kiryu recalled standing frozen on that spot for a very long time, not moving an inch. The tears, how long did he cry?

If Sumire-san didn't fetch him, would he have remained there unmoved for a long time? He already looked like an idiot then.

"Why don't you talk to her again, Kiryu? I don't think Lila's feelings for you are gone as you say."

"I know they aren't," Kiryu mumbled. It's the only thing keeping him sane, knowing that Lila still harbors some feelings for him. But at the same time, "That's the reason why this is more painful."

"You know Kiryu, maybe you're making this more difficult than it is supposed to be."

…..

Despite it getting later, everybody was still in festive spirits. After what happened earlier, a part of him wanted to go home. He didn't want to stay here and make things awkward. Haruka definitely saw him kiss Lila. That guy, he didn't scold her when he left, right? Kiryu was anxious and wanted to check up on Lila. However, he recalled how Lila had rushed over to Haruka, how Haruka held Lila in his arms. A deep sigh escaped his lips; why does he keep thinking about it? It's not like thinking about it will make things any better.

Besides, it's exactly like he told Shichiro. Lila does still have feelings for him. But, Kiryu knew the full extent of those feelings. She won't let go of Haruka's hand. After what happened with him, Lila knew better. He caused her a lot of pain and suffering when he broke up with her. Kiryu knew he handled the situation poorly and wanted to explain things to her. But before he knew it, Lila was already chasing after Haruka.

It didn't take the girl long. Of course, it wouldn't, Lila was already in love with Haruka. She ended up loving both of them. Rather than confuse her and cause her harm, he let her go. Kiryu knew that he could have discussed this with Haruka. Knowing Haruka, he would have left Lila to him. But Kiryu did not want that; it felt wrong to him. Besides, Lila would have eventually remembered. He would have a harder time explaining things to her.

After parting ways with Shichiro, Kiryu just wandered around for the interval. He did not have anybody he wanted to see in particular. All his friends were busy, and he just wanted to think and be alone. However, this did not last long when he spotted black hair. She was pacing back and forth by herself.

Is she alone? Kiryu looked around for any sign of Haruka, but couldn't spot him. It should be fine to approach her, right? Kiryu walked over and patted her shoulders.

"Wahhh!"

"Lila? What are you doing?"

At that comment, Lila turned around fully, her eyes widened. "Kiryu--" she trailed off and then bowed. Not while extending a hot dog towards him.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.webnovel.com for visiting.

"What is this?" Kiryu asked.

"P--peace offering! Don't be mad at me anymore."

Kiryu sighed when he saw how nervous she was. "I'm not angry at you."

"But, um…"

Geez, Kiryu, bent down and took a bite of the hot dog she was holding out. "Thanks, it tastes good."

"Wh--wh-stay stay away!" Lila exclaimed.

The girl's cheeks were stained red. Is she embarrassed? Feeling self-conscious?

"Do you..want to walk around with me?" Kiryu asked.

Lila looked over at him, eyes bright. "Un! Is that okay?"

"Yeah, where's Karashima?"

A dark aura surrounded the girl then, and his sweat fell. Uh... "He's with Sophia," Lila trailed off and exclaimed. "Gahh, I don't like it. I know somebody has to watch over her, so she doesn't sabotage the festival but still!"

Sabotage the event, huh? It wouldn't surprise him if that woman came here to do that. That woman named Sophia reminds him of Rosalia. It seems like unlike Rosalia, though, Lila is having a hard time dealing with her. Maybe he ought to give her some advice? But what advice could he give her, when he is still having a hard time dealing with Rosalia himself.

"Since Karashima is watching over her, you don't have to worry."

"But, I'm worried about leaving them alone. Haruka is so defenseless around her, sure he's defenseless around other women too. However, Sophia is different."

"After I kissed you and asked you to break up with Karashima. You sure are acting pretty bold."

Lila panicked, "Uh, uh um, you see..."

"Well, that's what I like about you."

One of the many things he likes about the woman named Terashima Lila. The two of them walked in silence for a while, when Lila suddenly spoke up.

"Uh Kiryu, can you stop doing that?"

"Doing what?" Kiryu feigned ignorance, but he knew what she was talking about.

"T--telling me you love me and kissing me!"

"I only did that today."

Lila wasn't expecting that response, and he saw how troubled she was getting. 'This is fun, teasing her like this.' His thoughts broke off when he spotted some meat buns in the nearby stand. "Can I get a bag, please?" Kiryu called out.

"Sure thing."

"Oh my, your Terashima Lila, right?" the shop keeper said, looking over at Lila.

"Ah, yes!"

"My daughter is a big fan of yours. Oh no, I don't have any paper..."

At that comment, Lila took something out that looked like a mini signboard with her name on it and passed it to the woman. "If you don't mind."

"Oh my, how attentive. Thank you very much."

Kiryu looked over at Lila, "You prepared those by yourself?"

She laughed, "Haruka gave me the idea! Isn't it clever?"

It is, then again, Haruka isn't called a golden manager for no reason. His gaze fell on Lila, who was smiling brightly. Whenever Haruka is mentioned, she looks so cheerful. So, Lila can smile like this. When they were together, she always looked like she was in pain. She always hid her sadness behind a smile. Kiryu hated seeing her that way. But he couldn't do anything about it at all.

After the shop keeper finished with their food, Kiryu found a place for them to sit down. Lila happily ate the meat bun. "Yummy!"

"You really like those, huh?"

"Kiryu, too, you ordered a lot."

"I ordered them for you."

He didn't have dinner, but Kiryu wasn't hungry. Watching Lila eat, however, made him feel hunger. So he reached out for one, and Lila laughed.

"Say Kiryu, why do you remember I like these?"

The meat buns he ordered weren't normal; there were different kinds of meat inside, not just the normal one.

"I remember everything about you," Kiryu admitted. Her likes and dislikes, everything. Even though he was starting to forget the sensation of touching her. The feeling of her in his arms and waking up to her bare skin against his. Kiryu couldn't forget her hobbies and everything she liked. Even the habits she had when she ate.

Awkward laughter, "Um, you're being too honest, aren't you?"

"It feels like we're going around in circles."

Lila's gaze softened at his words, "That's true. I wondered for a while what I would do if we saw each other again. Since I came back here, though, things haven't been as awkward between us. I thought that meant we were heading in a good direction as friends. But it's a bit difficult."

Kiryu's eyes widened at the girl's words. It didn't occur to him that Lila had thought the same thing too. The two of them tried to be friends.
