Haruka awkwardly ran his hands through his hair, "Wife, you know western movies are usually more..."

More what? Is he trying to say that the scenes will end up explicit, even the minor ones? "Is it that different?" Lila wondered.

"I'd read it through carefully," Rikka interjected. "I will still speak with my father. The initial plot isn't romance, anyway. The two leads only need to have natural chemistry."

With those words said, the girl walked off. However, Haruka rushed up to her again and bent down to whisper something in her ear. The girl's cheeks reddened. "What are you talking about?"

"Heh, I complimented you."

Rikka looked away, "I know, I'll get it done."

"Cool, mail me the details tonight."

"I'll give it to you in an hour," Rikka mumbled. "Don't get so close to me."

Haruka laughed, "Why are you acting so shy for?"

"Quit it; I'll go to the meeting by myself. You take the rest of the day off. But reply to my messages, alright?"

"Yeah, okay."

"Let me go already."

"You know, it's rare to see you this way.."

Rikka rolled her eyes, "Don't be a fool. I'll see you later."

Lila glanced at her back, though, 'Maybe Rikka-san is secretly happy about it.' A chance to act with Haruka and get close to him. The girl isn't a bad person, but anybody would feel happy getting close to the one they love. Her thoughts broke off when Haruka suddenly kissed her lips.

She wrapped her arms around his neck while his hands went around her waist. "I'm fine."

"You sure?" he places sloppy kisses on her cheeks. "Did I upset you?"

Lila shook her head, "No, I'm happy you have friends."

She genuinely felt this. It's good that Haruka has friends now, people who he trusts and cares for. Somebody who isn't her. Lila observed his attitude when they were in Light Town. Haruka had a lot of people surrounding him every day, yet he was not close to them. Those people only hung around him for his status; they used him. Aside from a few people, seldom any of them cared.

"Really? You seemed jealous there," Haruka teased her. Her eyes widened, 'Wait, that was deliberate?'

Jerk!!

"Ah! Did you do that to get me jealous? Bully!" Lila exclaimed and hit his chest.

Haruka laughed, "Wife, let's go?"

"No! I refuse, you're a bully."

"There are ways for me to bully you, Lila," Haruka said suggestively.

"Prove it."

Haruka backed her against the wall, and a content sigh escaped her lips when she felt his lips on her neck. It felt nice whenever Haruka got close to her. Whenever he touched her, she felt her body jolt when Haruka lifted her shirt slightly. One of his hands trailed against her thighs.

She did not understand why is this so good?

"Lila, is it good?"

She nodded and raked her hands through his hair. "It's good; I like it a lot."

"Then, I'll keep doing this to you."

"What about our date?" Lila recalled what he said about a bike ride earlier.

"Yeah, we can still go. But let me kiss you for a bit."

"I think we have a huge problem."

"Mmm, what is it? What's the problem, love?"

"I'm hungry."

Haruka paused, and a worried look appeared on his face. "Lately, your urges have increased. Is everything okay?"

"I'm okay, I just want you," Lila wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face there.

"You want me, wife?"

"Mmm, all the time. That's why your stupid deal with my parents makes me cringe."

"Sorry, wife, but I truly want to treasure you."

'He's already doing that though.' What are his hands doing? It feels nice. "Hubby, maybe we should go somewhere."

"Mmm, no. This is fine."

.....

When Haruka brought her over to his car, Lila couldn't hide her suspicion. It was a brand new red sports car. Money is not an issue for her or Haruka, but even then... 'Didn't he stop spending recklessly?' Lila thought.

"When did you get a new car?"

"Just recently."

Lila looked around the car and thought, "Did Rikka-san ride here before?"

"Yeah, that's why I'm adjusting the seat for you."

Adjusting the seat? Lila peered over at him; he was fiddling with the seat adjustment. She didn't know what got into her, but she suddenly leaned forward and kissed him.

"Mmmm, minx," Haruka muttered against her lips. "You want to do something, love?"

"Yes."

"So honest," he chuckled. "The car, huh? Never thought of that before."

Her cheeks reddened when she understood the meaning behind his words. True, they've done nothing like this in the car before, she held back her anticipation. Haruka traced her lips with his thumb.

"Indeed, you're very beautiful. It wouldn't be a stretch for me to attack you here... I have my ways to please you without that."

"You'll hurt your back," she said concerned. She already understood what was going on his mind.

Haruka kept laughing, and Lila pouted. "I'm serious. I don't want you to get hurt."

"It's nice of you to be concerned, Lila, but I've done this before and had zero issues."

Lila knew he meant nothing by those words. But, 'He's done it before, huh?' Suddenly it no longer feels special. Still, Lila watched as Haruka closed the remaining distance between them. Will he do something to her now? He talks about holding back and all that - but Lila knew how much he desired her.

As a hanyou, desires are something normal. When you desire another person, others see it as two individuals coming together. At least for individuals outside the 'norm,' like herself and Haruka.

"Lila," Haruka called out gently and thus breaking her thoughts. "I love you. Tell me what I have to do."

'Ah...' Lila looked at him, surprised. That comment caught her off guard. Lately, he keeps doing this - catching her off guard.

Then again, her Haruka always acts unexpectedly. 'Her Haruka, huh?' It wasn't too long ago where she said that about Kiryu. Feelings can be very fickle. She wondered, since when did she start having this mindset? Still, no matter what. She already decided, nothing will change her mind now.

Lila reached over and wrapped her arms around his neck as she mumbled softly. "Haruka.."

"Yeah?"

"I struggled with many things before we met again, but since we got together..those things," Lila said slowly, "...are getting better."

It's getting better now. The pain and suffering from back then, it's slowly getting better. While it will take time for the pain to truly leave her, mental scars cannot disappear overnight. A person can never truly 'get over it.' It's insensitive to say such words to anyone. A psychological scar can heal. Yes, heal is the correct word. But it can't fade just like that.

The reason why she came this far is because so many people didn't give up on her.

"Lila, I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you during the darkest part of your life. All these years, I regretted not meeting with you again," Haruka sounded very regretful.

'He sounds like he is in pain..' She didn't say these words for him to act this way—her Haruka, so strong, gentle, and kind. So fragile and yet, Lila lifted her head up from the nape of his neck. When she saw his pained expression, it didn't surprise her.
