It was night.

Cordelia found an interval during her father’s break and visited the office.

I had completely forgotten, but the present for my father had been completed. In other words, I had forgotten to give it while inside the carriage. Moreover, it was hard to give it since it wasn’t possible to prepare hot water in the carriage.

“Otou-sama, this is Cordelia.”

When Cordelia said so, the door was opened from the inside. It was Sieg.

Sieg opened the door in the way so that Cordelia could pass easily. Then, he stayed inside. Thanking him with an eye contact, Cordelia stood in front of her father.

“Otou-sama, sorry for keeping you waiting for a long time. There’s a fatigue recovery method that I would like you to try for once.”

“…… Ho, so you’re studying medicinal herbs.”

Elvis stood slowly from the elegant big chair. He then sat down on the sofa in front of his des and encouraged Cordelia to sit with him as well. Cordelia quietly followed his lead.

“Otou-sama, please lean back a little in the sofa. Then close your eyes and turn upwards to make yourself comfortable.”

Elvis said nothing. Just did what Cordelia told him to—closing his eyes and leaning back onto the sofa. Cordelia dropped a drop of lavender essential oil into the hot water bath pail she had brought. A fluffy scent drifted around the room. Cordelia soaked the towel inside it and squeezed it lightly. A hot towel was comfortable when it was little hot.

Cordelia put it on Elvis’s closed eyes.

“…..”

Elvis who received the treatment silently, was breathing shallowly and quietly like a sleeping person.

“Father seems to be very tired.”

“Yes. There’s one conclusion though,
I feel relieved now.”¹

The strong lavender essential oil had enhanced the relaxing effect. The fatigue likely disappeared immediately.

“I mentioned it during the daytime, but I act until the end. I only carried out the captain’s word as it was. That’s why the captain is always tired.”

“Why is otou-sama working there?”

“It’s a belief. When I was young, I heard that it was hard without power. Even with your ideals, it was a saying that you cannot achieve anything without power. ”

Oh… so that’s why otou-sama wants power….

“Well, since I have enough power now, it seems that it’s no longer necessary to pursue it anymore. Instead of having enough time to realise my ideals, I’m just exhausted.” Sieg smiled bitterly, “Because I’ve been a clumsy person since a long time ago.”

There was something Cordelia wanted to consult her father about, but she didn’t feel like waking up her sleeping father. So, Cordelia bowed to Sieg as she exited the room.

(Now, with borrowing others authority, let’s see what can I do.)

Heading to the desk, she wrote about the plan she was thinking about.

First of all I have to ask my father for an investment—while thinking so, one plan was made.

“I can see the vision of how to earn money in the future, but… I can’t make money right now.”

A plan was essential to gaining an investment.

The plan to convince my father… It would be difficult to have a considerable winning percentage.

“Even if there’s a possibility, it’s note enough to do education for free. It’s necessary to hire and learn, but it’s also difficult for them who are confident in wheat to undertake other work.”

Cordelia scratched her head. Tick, tock, tick, tock, the sounds of the clock were echoing. Knock, knock, the sound of the door resonated. Enter, as Cordelia answered—Aisha was standing there.

“Because I saw the light… It’s already late, Cordelia-sama.”

“Ah, it’s already so late.”

“Yes, it is—that’s why I brought you a midnight snack.”

And while looking happy, Aisha held the bread she had hidden behind her back in front of Cordelia’s eyes. This place isn’t where I should go to bed early—as she thought so, Cordelia couldn’t do anything. It was impossible. The bread’s smell is too captivating.

“It’s an ordinary white bread, but this one is delicious.”

It was lightly baked, so it was warm. The bread presented looked fresh and delicious.

“It’s a rare wheat, so it’s rarely eaten here, I just got a separate from the children I read stories.”

Aisha laughed.

Cordelia, who had been staring at the bread for a while, slowly brought the bread to her mouth.

“Delicious……”

“Isn’t it?”

“But, it’s a little different from the bread in the capital.”

“Huh?”

“It’s fluffy and delicious, but something is different. Fluffy… however, only that. The dryness is a little strong… It’s different from the daytime bread.”

Cordelia couldn’t express it well. It was true that the bread was delicious. I think that this is more delicious if it only by the taste, but I think the dryness disturbs the flavor. Of course, it may be just a matter of preference…

“But… so that’s it… this wheat, if the capital’s craftsmen study bread—”

Inspiration came to Cordelia.

“Aisha onee-sama! Thank you, I already found it!”

“Eh? Yeah, that’s good…?”

While Aisha looked puzzled, Cordelia decided to negotiate with her father tomorrow.

¹: If the exchanging convo partner above is actually Elvis, please remind me because it’s very fatal—I tried to understand the dialogues under the impression that it’s Sieg. Also, if there’s faults in the dialogues translation (especially in conversations after this), please tell me the correct one since I’m mainly using MTL.
