On the way to the dungeon, when I passed Roy’s portion of the water I prepared unexpectedly, “Certainly, hydration is important. Thanks.” He said his thanks normally.
I was surprised to the degree of putting myself on guard for an incoming tempest.
With that kind of back and forth, now we’ve arrived at the dungeon’s entrance.
We got here but, we can’t enter.
Why?
‘Cause there are 2 guards.
In the middle of the mountains it’s a cave that looks like the dungeon entrance, but on the right and left are 2 completely armored soldier-types keeping watch on the entrance. Seems like there is a process to enter the dungeon.
“Roy, what should we do?” (Haru)
“Break through.” (Roy)
……eh?
For the sake of testing our skills, we’re going to kill people?
As you would expect, I can’t do that.
“What are you thinking? We’re not going to kill those guards. The guards are there to lookout for monsters that are coming out of the dungeon after all.” (Roy)
We’re not?
Thank goodness.
But, since they’re there it will be difficult to enter.
“Then, what are we gonna do?” (Haru)
“That’s where you come in.” (Roy)

What is he gonna have me do?
…… It can’t be he’ll have me arrested as a thief as a sacrifice so he can enter?
“What are you thinking? Using Haru’s magic to strengthen our bodies, use chantless magic to burn a few trees to drag away the guard’s eyes and in that gap we break through.” (Roy)

“Then there was no meaning to the disguises, right” (Haru)
“Just think about it a little. We won’t be the only ones in the dungeon right?” (Roy)

“Got it. Let’s go then?” (Haru)
As I say that I use body strengthening magic on me and Haru.
And then ……. Boom!
Firing off magic chantlessly, slightly to the side of the guards I hit a tree, setting it ablaze.
“What?! That tree’s on fire!?” (Guard 1)
“Magic!?” (Guard 2)
The 2 guards, surprised at the suddenly burning tree, sent there attention there.
In that moment, with our enhanced bodies we ran.
We ran, and we ran!
And then I fell.
“owowowow.” (Haru)
“Jeez, what are you doing?” (Roy)
“No, well there’s no light and there’s slippery moss so I fell.” (Haru)
**TN Note: this is a pun. Moss is ‘koke’ and fell is ‘koketa’
“……. Stop saying stupid things and let’s go.” (Roy)
It wasn’t a joke though…….
Turning around, I couldn’t see the figures of the guards.
Maybe they’re still looking at the burning tree.
So, without being seen by the guards we were able to safely break into the dungeon.
