“Zhou, if there’s something to say, just say it!” Zhou Wendao put the feather duster behind him, and Liu Yutian let go of Ye Zhou and quickly pushed the pedicab away.

“What are you doing? Hey hey, where are you pushing it!” Ye Zhou wanted to stop Liu Yutian, but was stopped by Zhou Wendao.

The two people were tangled up. Zhan Xing was passing through with a popsicle and curiously asked, “What are you doing?”

“Zhou wants to smash the car!” Zhou Wendao showed him the ‘evidence’. “See!”

Zhan Xing heard this and his face changed. He pulled the feather duster over and smashed it over his knees. The feather duster was instantly broken in half. Zhan Xing tossed the ‘corpse’ of the feather duster into the trash can. After throwing it away, he earnestly said, “Zhou, calm down. People always make wrong decisions when they’re impulsive!”

“My…” Ye Zhou stared blankly at the duster he’d just bought that hadn’t even been used once and was now buried in the trash can. His heartache was to the extreme. He took a deep breath and said, “I’m really fine with Shang Jin. I was just going to wash the car. Don’t you see the bucket next to me?”

“Who uses a feather duster to wash a car,” Zhou Wendao said with a ‘seeing through everything’ expression, “Well, it’s almost summer vacation anyway. At that time, the two of you will be separate for a while. After you calm down, you can communicate properly with a level mind.”

Zhan Xing echoed, “If it’s really not enough, I can change dorms back with you.”

What? Change dorms???

They’re good, they didn’t need to change dorms now!

“No need, no need.” Ye Zhou said weakly, “Why do you never trust me? Is my credibility that low? I really reconciled with Shang Jin.”

Liu Yutian pushed the car into the gap between two cars, ensuring that Ye Zhou couldn’t easily hit the car. Coming back, he heard this sentence and said without much confidence, “Then why doesn’t Shang Jin come back?”

“Because…” Ye Zhou stopped for a moment. Shang Jin’s family was a special, reorganized family after all. Ye Zhou didn’t want to publicly announce Shang Jin’s family situation and also couldn’t find a good excuse at the moment. “Because…”

Liu Yutian said with a look of ‘see, I knew you were lying’ and said, “Fine, don’t be angry. I’ll invite you to eat ice cream to get rid of your anger.”

Zhan Xing said, “Yeah, you don’t need to worry about the car. I’ll help wipe it for you.”

Ye Zhou sighed as his shoulder was held by Liu Yutian who pushed him to the canteen near the dorm.

When they came back, he saw that Zhan Xing and Zhou Wendao were working together to help him clean the car.

Forget it. In the end, as long as the car was clean, the process didn’t matter.

Ye Zhou hatefully took a bite of ice cream to comfort himself.

At noon, Ye Zhou was lying in bed and sent a message to Shang Jin.

Ye Zhou: I was going to wash the car today. They thought I was still angry with you and that I was trying to smash the car, so they broke my newly-bought feather duster.

Shang Jin: Feather duster can’t break a car.

Ye Zhou: Right? A little bit of intelligence can see it!

Shang Jin: So you should forgive them.

Ye Zhou pulled his mouth. Shang Jin’s mouth was too poisonous. Wasn’t this saying that they had no IQ?

Ye Zhou: How’s your family’s little princess?

Shang Jin soon sent a picture.

In the picture, he could see Shang Youyou with messy hair sitting in melancholy on the sofa corner. Zooming in on the picture, he could see tears hanging from Shang Youyou’s eyes, looking very pitiful.

Ye Zhou: You didn’t coax her??

Shang Jin: Coaxed, but it’s useless. She really dislikes her new brother and doesn’t even want to see him.

Ye Zhou: I think Youyou isn’t the type who can’t accept a stranger, and besides, your little brother isn’t a stranger. When she came to the school, she wasn’t the least bit afraid.

Shang Jin: I’ll talk to her later.

Shang Jin put down his phone. Today, Shang Youyou heard that Qin Fei was going to bring her brother back and she didn’t even go to kindergarten. Because he was delayed for a good while in the morning, he barely entered the exam room on time. When he returned home after the exam, Qin Fei held the little guy in her arms while Shang Youyou shrank in the corner of the sofa, far from them. After seeing Shang Jin return back, it was like she’d found her relatives, and she threw herself into his arms.

Although Shang Youyou ignored Qin Fei, but as long as she was close with someone in the family, there was no need to worry too much. Unfortunately, this harmonious situation lasted until Shang Jin finished his meal and went to the crib to see the little one.

Shang Jin’s little brother was named Shang Wenyue, but since he was still young, everyone called him Little Ji.

The child’s features hadn’t spread out and Shang Jin couldn’t see who his brows and eyes looked like. However, his eyes were quite big, filled with the black pupils, limpid and bright. The baby fat on his face made Shang Jin couldn’t help but poke it.

It was this moment that was seen by Shang Youyou. Then she felt that her only ally had been hooked away by new brother and her entire world collapsed. She resisted crying, sniffed her nose and hid alone in the corner of the sofa.

No matter how much Shang Jin coaxed afterwards, there was little effect.

Originally, Shang Jin wanted to go to the amusement park with Shang Youyou the next day, but when he woke up in the morning, Shang Youyou dressed and let Aunt Zhang comb her hair. Obediently standing in the doorway, she said she wanted to go to school.

Shang Jin held Shang Youyou up and said, “Big brother will take you to the amusement park today, okay?”

Shang Youyou shook her head and struggled down. “I want to go to kindergarten. I miss my friends.”

Shang Jin had no choice but to send Shang Youyou to school first. After that, he went around to university and sent a message to Ye Zhou.

On Ye Zhou’s side, he picked all the ripe strawberries in the two pots early in the morning, washed them and put them in a lunch box. Then, he took out two sticker sheets from the drawer. He’d bought the princess stickers and strawberry stickers from the back street of the school yesterday. He peeled off a princess sticker and stuck it on the lunchbox, placing a few strawberry stickers next to the princess. He hoped that when Shang Youyou saw them, she’d be a little happy.

In the end, there was only a child seat in the backseat of Shang Jin’s car, but he didn’t see Shang Youyou. “What about Youyou? Didn’t you say yesterday that you would bring her with you?”

Shang Jin helplessly said, “Yesterday, I touched Little Ji and she wasn’t happy.”

“Heheh,” Ye Zhou pulled out his phone and quickly clicked at Shang Jin. “I didn’t expect that you’d actually have such a look. It seems like you’re also not omnipotent.”

“I’ve said before that I’m not god. A human can’t be omnipotent.”

Ye Zhou proudly said, “You didn’t bring Youyou with you today. If you’d brought her, I promise I’d be able to coax her in a few minutes.”

“Really?” Shang Jin cast him a sidelong glance and said, “Not a problem. When we go back, you’d get a chance.”

Ye Zhou didn’t understand.

“I’m taking her out to dinner tonight.” Shang Jin rapped on the steering wheel and said, “You can ‘properly’ enlighten her.”

Ye Zhou coughed and said, “Who’s afraid of who.”

Today was Wednesday and there were fewer people in the amusement park than on the grand opening but not by much.

After all, he’d come here to play just a few days ago, so Ye Zhou was familiar with this place. He took the park guide and walked while thinking of what attraction they should play first.

Passing by the haunted house, Ye Zhou halted. He glanced at Shang Jin and his heart itched. “Why don’t we go to the haunted house?”

Having lived with Shang Jin for so long, Ye Zhou still didn’t really know what Shang Jin’s attitude toward the supernatural was. Of course, it’d be best if Shang Jin could be as scared of ghosts as Tang Dongdong was. He could demonstrate his heroic spirit and also have a good laugh. Ye Zhou stared at Shang Jin’s expression to not miss a trace of change.

Shang Jin did not lift his head and directly refused.

Ye Zhou was very happy in his heart and tried to persuade him at all costs. “Let’s go. It’s okay, if you’re scared, I can lend you my stalwart chest!”

Looking at Ye Zhou’s secretly delighted expression, Shang Jin said, “No, I just think that it’s unsuitable to go to the haunted house as the first event.”

“Coming here, isn’t it playing whatever you want to play? There’s still an order?”

“After we’ve gone to the other attractions, it’ll be hot. At that time, we can go the haunted house. It’d certainly be the most suitable to use its air conditioning then.”

Ye Zhou opened his mouth, but what Shang Jin said was so reasonable that he could not refute.

“Come on, let’s ride the rollercoaster first.” Shang Jin closed the guide and pulled Ye Zhou to line up.

“On the opening day, Tang Dongdong, Su Yin and I came here once.” Ye Zhou suddenly wanted to tell Shang Jin about this matter, but because his heart was level, he didn’t feel the least bit guilty saying it.

Shang Jin casually asked, “What, did you see him and found that he didn’t look like what you thought and were disappointed?”

“That’s not it. He was the same as I’d imagined.” He’d played with all his heart that day, but when he was going through these attractions, he always thought that it’d be good if Shang Jin was also there with him. He hadn’t even thought for a week and he’d realized it. Obviously, the interval was so short, but Ye Zhou felt like it was very, very long. “But I really don’t have any feelings for him, so it was almost like hanging out with Zhou Wendao and them.”

Hearing Tang Dongdong’s name all along, Shang Jin became curious about the other person. “Do you have a picture of him? Let me see.”

“Yes.” Ye Zhou finished responding and carefully looked at Shang Jin. He explained, “This one I forgot to delete from before.”

“I’m not such a petty person.” Shang Jin drew closer to Ye Zhou, rested his chin on Ye Zhou’s shoulder and looked at the phone with him.

Most of Ye Zhou’s photos were of scenery and there weren’t too many people. It took awhile to pull up Tang Dongdong’s photo.

“Here.”

Shang Jin took the cell phone and looked left and right, but didn’t see anything special. Shang Jin couldn’t help but ask, “I’ll be presumptuous and ask you a question: what do you like about him?”

How was Shang Jin able to seriously discuss the person he’d liked before?? Looking at Shang Jin, he was really asking a simple question and wasn’t being jealous.

Ye Zhou also wasn’t clear what he liked about Tang Dongdong. Since Shang Jin asked, Ye Zhou earnestly replied with his first feeling, “I think I might be a face-con…”1 Saying this, he felt ashamed. Ye Zhou had always believed that those who only look at appearances were shallow. He didn’t expect that he’d become a member of the face-con army.  However, towards Shang Jin, he knew in his heart that he was attracted to the person Shang Jin, and it had nothing to do with his looks.

Shang Jin said incredulously, “Face-con??”

Ye Zhou said in embarrassment,  “Yes, can you stop emphasizing it?”

“No, I just think you have the wrong perception of a face-con.” Shang Jin put Tang Dongdong’s photo next to his cheek, pointed at the photo and pointed at himself, and said, “I’m not trying to insult Tang Dongdong, but you say you’re a face-con: your conscience really doesn’t hurt?”

Ye Zhou looked at Shang Jin and looked at Tang Dongdong’s photo again. For a moment, he didn’t know how to respond.

Face-con: (颜控) Face complex, people who love based on appearances
