The creation of the barrier proceeded relatively smooth.
On the forest’s four entrances we made magic circle-like things and just poured magic power into it.
These circles were created by the female hero chanting stuff I had no idea what, and the formation appeared from the ground.
It glowed in a pale light and when I placed my hand on it, it glowed a deep red.
It seems that it absorbs magic power.
I could feel some kind of power being taken from my body.
When we repeated this four times, the work was done.
Although the forest looks like nothing changed, but with this it seems that a protective barrier has been raised.
“Although you can freely come out from inside, but from outside it should be impossible to enter. But if it’s something on the level of a demon lord, I can’t guarantee anything.”
“If it’s like that then it’s fine, after all we even put up a sign.”
We placed a sign that says that the evil dragon has went north near the entrance.
Since the master of the barrier was me and the female hero, we can freely go in and out of it, so we went back inside.
I called to the slimes with a large voice.
After I explained to them that the female hero was harmless, I explained to them the details about the barrier surrounding the forest.
The female hero was not surprised at the slimes being magic beasts, but rather at the fact that they could speak in the human language.
After I explained the situation to them in one breath, I talked about something that I really found hard to talk about.
“You see… from today on I’m gonna be leaving this forest.”
“B,boss, why…?”
“How should say this… It like I got tired of the life here. I got tired of the life without any kind of stimulus.”

“Y, you should not. You guys stay in the forest, the outside is too dangerous.”

The slimes desperately chased after me, I knew that but still continued on.
I walked until the edge of the barrier and stopped.
But with my back still towards them, I quietly said.
“I am already fed up with protecting you guys. At the very least live a long life in this forest.”

I heard a nasal voice.
With this, it should be clear to them how serious my determination is.
The slimes must have understood, since none of them are saying for me to bring them along anymore.
At the end when I was about to cross over to the other side of the barrier, I heard the slimes saying with their best.
“We will become strong… even without boss we will be fine, we will become strong. That’s why boss, for everything until now, thank you very much.”

When I raised my right hand as a response, I exited the barrier.
After walking for quite a while, I quietly left the forest.
Inside my head years of memories- fragmented memories rose up.
Always beside me were those guys.
Those guys looking like they were having fun, made even me feel like I’m having fun.
Those guys said that I was always saving them.
But that’s not it, I was the actually the one being saved.
Even I don’t really want to be separated from them.
My feelings of wanting to take them with me aren’t half-assed.
But, but, slimes body’s are very surprisingly fragile.
If it isn’t the clean air of the forest their life spans would immediately drop.
Even their food is like that.
For the herbivorous them their choices for food are severely limited.
As expected, that forest is surely the best environment for them.
“Evil dragon, let’s rest at that large boulder’s shadow for a bit.”
