Zhen Xiu was smiling after she heard Lu Jian's enthusiasm. He was behaving like a perfect, ideal romantic partner.
She knew that she should not enjoy too much of his little remarks but her disobedient heart was really at fault here. She wanted to teach him a lesson for his indifference, cold nature and outright non-caring attitude towards his original wife but was not able to do so.

"I don' know why…." Lu Jian stopped for a while and then continued after reminiscing his first meeting with her after she came back home from the hospital.
"Actually, when you were secretly crying while talking on your phone; it was like I was suddenly attracted to you. It was not because of your appearance or any lusty thoughts in my mind. The thing which attracted me to you was your sad smile and the pain hiding in your eyes. After that, you gave an innocent smile; totally different from your sad aura within a second. I was amazed to see all those emotions in your eyes."
Zhen Xiu was listening silently as Lu Jian was explaining himself. She remembered that she was talking with Shen Ya after her first fight with Lu Jian. This was the time she felt some warmth from another person in her life. Although she didn't know what Lu Jian was saying about pain, sadness, and emotions in her eyes; she was sure of one thing that the smile he described must be amazing. After all, this was the happiness, which emerged from her heart after being accepted by somebody else.

"I didn't know why I was attracted towards it. Jiang Wui also mentioned your change and a different attitude, this also attracted me. I was curious why you are being so different lately. It was like a different aura, a new you, who came back after a rebirth to throw me in the chaos of hell."

"You say rebirth, does that mean you didn't like the previous me?"

"No, it was not like that per se. I accept that I was not attracted to you so I really was not affectionate towards you but this doesn't mean that I didn't like you as a person. You were a nice girl. "If you were even a bit dangerous for me or anything related to me then, trust me, I would not hesitate to kill you. I was indifferent towards you was not something strange because this is my nature. I am like this with everybody. You were not special."
"I didn't want to give you any false hope just because we were married to each other. I never felt anything for you in the past two years of our marriage. You were just an acquaintance for me." He told her everything truthfully without hiding anything in his heart.
