Yan Qingsi felt uneasy as her belly was pushed against Yue Tingfeng’s Shoulder. Her head was upside down as she felt her blood rushing into her head, making her feel nauseous and dizzy.
“Put me down.” Yan Qingsi said as she patted his back.
Yan Qingsi had accidentally hit the wound on his back, causing him to squirm and tense up in pain. He simply replied with, “Impossible.”
Thus, Yue Tingfeng continued to carry Yan Qingsi as he slowly climbed his way onto the rooftop balcony.
As they reached the rooftop, he placed her down.
Upon placing her down, Yan Qingsi’s legs suddenly grew weak and fell forward. However, she was saved by Yue Tingfeng hugging her, giving her support.
It was extremely late at night, Yan Qingsi could feel the cold breeze brushing against her face as she stood on the balcony. It was quite comfortable and it woke her up a little from her grogginess. She asked, “What are you up to this late at night? Are you going to force me to jump off this height with you now?”
Yue Tingfeng thought for a second and answered. “Something like that.”
This startled Yan Qingsi a little as she took a step back and said, “This hour at night? Don’t you dare do anything stupid. I am not done living just yet.”
“Let’s play a game.” Yue Tingfeng said as he pulled Yan Qingsi toward him.
Yan Qingsi was completely speechless as she thought to herself just how… unbelievable… this man was.
“You must still be dreaming right? You dragged me out of bed at this hour, just to play a game? You…” Yan Qingsi complained.
Yue Tingfeng nodded with a serious look on his face. He replied, “Of course I did… Why would you think otherwise?”
Yue Tingfeng took out a deck of cards. It was the same one used by them earlier.
He simply stated, “Alright, I need you to pick some cards…”
Yan Qingsi was furious at the idiocy of his intentions, she clenched her teeth tightly and said, “I don’t have time to play your stupid game. I am deadbeat tired. Just bother someone else.”
Yue Tingfeng grabbed onto her hand tightly, refused to let her leave. He said, “No, come on, I need you to play. You won’t be leaving until you’re done playing.”
Yan Qingsi rolled herself in despair as she picked her cards with her eyes closed.
Yue Tingfeng said. “Flip them over and take a look.”
Yan Qingsi clenched her teeth tighter and said, “You… weren’t like this before. Did you recede into your cruel, sinister and unreasonable CEO persona?”
Hearing her complain, Yue Tingfeng simply grinned and said, “Thank you, you don’t need to praise me, I know exactly how good looking I am. Now please, flip the cards.”
Yan Qingsi simply shook her head and flipped over all 4 cards. It showed, an ace of hearts, 3 of hearts, ace of spades and a 4 of hearts!
She never paid any attention to the cards as she never did enjoy card games.
Yue Tingfeng perked up like lips and said. “Your luck is not bad, would you like to know what those cards meant?”
Yan Qingsi yawned and replied. “Card readings? Just read on your own, I’m going back to sleep.”
She only managed to walk 2 steps away as she heard Yue Tingfeng call out to her and said. “Hey, Yan Qingsi. I will give you an eternity, do you want it?”
Yan Qingsi froze and stopped walking. Puzzled at what he meant.
She turned around slowly, looking directly at Yue Tingfeng. She could not make out she was seeing even though the moonlight was shining on the balcony that they were on. She could not see his face through the darkness, the only features she could barely make out was his eyes. They were bright and warm.
He held up all 4 cards picked by her earlier and said. “Do you want it?”
Yan Qingsi finally snapped out of her daze as her mind suddenly connected the dots as to what he meant.
The ace in the deck of cards has a value of 1, the four cards she had picked showed 1,3,1,4 respectively, reading it in mandarin would say 1314. A homonym that sounded like an eternity in mandarin internet slang.
Yan Qingsi’s eyes widened, staring directly at Yue Tingfeng, as her heartbeat grew faster. It was intense. She froze, unable to speak. She felt as if, the moment she opened her mouth to speak, her heart would instantly leap out from her mouth.
Yue Tingfeng walked closer to her while holding the cards in his hand. He said. “Anything that you want and as long as it’s within my ability to give, I will give you my world…”
