While Yue Tingfeng was grabbing onto Yan Qingsi’s arm, a kid ran towards them to give her a hug. After doing so, that kid continued on his merry way.
“Yan Qingsi, don’t you feel that our position of dominance had completely flipped?” Yue Tingfeng asked.
“Nope,” answered Yan Qingsi.
“I happen to still be a man, you have got to give me some… breathing room every once in a while,” exclaimed Yue Tingfeng.
“What do you need some breathing room for, the only thing that should be your main focus right now would be convincing your lady to allow you to stay on the bed and not get kicked to the floor until the first light of day.” Yan Qingsi said as she noticed a mother was parenting her child. Upon noticing that very scene, she grinned.
“Just look at how well I’ve performed today, please don’t kick me off the bed. It’ll make me very unhappy,” pleaded Yue Tingfeng.
“What’s going to happen if you’re unhappy?” asked Yan Qingsi.
“I’ll get mad,” explained Yue Tingfeng.
“Really now?” replied Yan Qingsi snarkily.
Hearing her snarky reply, Yue Tingfeng gritted his teeth and said, “Cheer me up would you…”
“Aww, be a good boy now. Your big sister will be taking you home. Then, we’ll get you some candy alright?” teased Yan Qingsi.
“Yan Qingsi, do you intend to devour me whole? Flesh and bone included?” asked Yue Tingfeng.
“Regardless of who’s devouring who… isn’t the outcome… the same? Unless you didn’t want me to.” explained Yan Qingsi.
“I… do, I absolutely, very much want you to. I’m all yours, just make sure you have the appetite to eat all of me,” replied Yue Tingfeng excitedly.
“I’ll think about it!” said Yan Qingsi.
And thus, hand in hand, both of them gleefully walked through the crowd of humans. The sound of Yan Qingsi’s laughter was quickly dampened by the yelling voices of two salesmen promoting their products. It was a scene of pure serenity as wave after wave of people crossed the busy streets. Countless heartbreaks and reunions that had happened in the same corners of the busy streets. Through the darkness, ferries and tiny ships sailed. Two different scenes, as the brights lights from the city, paralleled the darkness of open water. As the two scenes merged, a unison of complete beauty that reflected serenity and order amidst the chaos.
Perhaps after a full workday, people from Hai City would come to this very spot to unwind. They would have done some shopping, taste the local delicacies from the street vendors, browsed through whatever that was laid out for sale and even bought some things for their family. This would be a normal life for regular people. A pattern of repetition in their everyday lives. A life that was uneventful, without worry nor change. A life that would have been labeled as normal.
This very life was one that Yan Qingsi so desperately yearned for deep down in her heart.
As both silhouettes disappeared into the night, not a single soul living in the present would have a clue as to tomorrow’s events.
At the very least, she had the luxury of spending time with the man she loved wholeheartedly… today. She was given the chance of living a normal life as regular couples do. Sharing a meal as a regular couple, having a movie date as a regular couple, they shopped and exchanged gifts and as the day ended, they had the luxury of walking home together while holding hands as any normal couple would have done. Sometimes in life… luxury could be found in the most common and simplest things.

At this very moment in the hotel, Ji Mianmian was ecstatic since her goddess was currently on a date with her boss. No movie shoots and most importantly she was no longer responsible for that b*stard of a man. A long-overdue break for her to enjoy herself. She finally had the luxury of sleeping like the dead in her hotel room. How awesome would that be?
The only concern she had was… since her goddess was currently on a date with her boss, she would not be able to meet her goddess. Her boss was known to be cunning and it would be obvious for him to sink his talons into her goddess. She thought to herself, ‘Shame on me to not be able to save my goddess.’
However…
On second thought, her boss, Mr. Yue had told her that she would be getting a raise earlier today. This meant that her monthly wages would have an additional 2000 bucks in addition to bonuses, other incentives and by the end of the year, her boss would be handing out even more bonuses. She thought to herself, ‘Oh boy… My boss is amazing, he’s awesome.’
At that very thought alone, all Ji Mianmian could see was the magenta stained dollar notes as her mind lit up with images of ‘¥¥¥’. She felt that her dreams of becoming a glitterati would not be as out of reach any more; as she fantasized about financing a house and a luxurious car. Finally reaching the pinnacle of life.
‘Yes, sucking up to her boss was a great idea after all. None would make a greater pair than her goddess with her boss.’ Ji Mianmian thought to herself.
If anyone would be worthy of marrying her goddess in this world, it would undoubtedly be her boss. She was determined to completely support the idea of ‘Qing Feng[1]’.
When her goddess becomes the lady boss, would her future incentives be even better?
