‘This is…! An ability!’

“Bye, let me know when you’re dead.”

Dead men tell no tales. Realizing that this was a farewell message that meant many things, Joo Min-Seong silently accepted the guard’s ability.

“Yes…”

“Idiot.”

Boo-ooh-o-!

“Ugh!”

Joo Min-Seong decided to curse these guys when they died and quickly fell into the middle of the gate. The guard didn’t really mean to kill him, so luckily Joo Min-Seong slowed down as he got closer to the ground.

Thud!

“Fuck! Son of a bitch!”

Joo Min-Seong was so resentful of his class. At least this wouldn’t have happened if he had just gotten out of the Association’s building quietly with his grade.

‘If only it wasn’t known to the press…!’

Joo Min-Seong’s anger flared up.

“The Association. We’ll see. We’ll see! Awakened? Yes! You as well! All of you will see! I’ll survive and shock you all!”

After shouting curses at the Association and those with abilities, Joo Min-Seong looked around. From that moment on, it was a real adventure.

“Whoa… Once you enter the gate, it’s said you should search around you.”

Joo Min-Seong pulled out a textbook for beginners from his backpack and compared it with the guidelines he had memorized.

‘I memorized it properly. No more fussing inside the gate. I have to be careful.’

Joo Min-Seong put the textbook back in his backpack and began exploring. The interior of the gate looked like a ruined city. Soon after, a monster appeared among the abandoned buildings.

“Grr…”

‘A Devil Dog. It must be here because of the screaming.’

Devil Dog. Despite its name, it was one of the beasts known as the weakest monster.

Joo Min-Seong, thinking himself lucky, carefully pulled his weapons out of the bag and equipped himself with the lowest-level armor that fit his abilities. Having determined that weapons were the most important when entering a dungeon, he spent as much as one million won to purchase special weapons. If he hit the monster with the steel rod, made of ultralight metal, he’d be able to put it into a groggy state.

Since there were so many gates, the weapons industry for awakened people had developed so much that these weapons could be purchased at cheap prices. The best weapons were imbued with all sorts of abilities, reaching prices as high as 100 million won.

“Come on! I’ll give back all the pain I’ve been through!”

“Grrrr!”

The Devil Dog quickly rushed toward Joo Min-Seong.

‘I can see its movements!’

While he prepared to evade, Joo Min-Seong waited until the Devil Dog got close enough to attack.

‘Now!’

Ting!

“Huh?”

It made a ting, not a clang! Plastic would probably make that noise.

Feeling something strange, Joo Min-Seong hurriedly dodged the Devil Dog’s rush attack and looked at his weapon.

~ Made in Korae ~

“Where the hell is this country of ‘Korae’!”

Joo Min-Seong was swindled when he bought his weapons. From the store’s perspective, celebrity complaints could also be used as noise marketing.

Or maybe it was simple disregard.

“Damn it!”

Joo Min-Seong distracted the Devil Dog by throwing away his weapon roughly, quickly got behind the monster. He gave a strong punch.

Puck!

“GRAAH!”

To some extent, he succeeded in dealing a blow, but in return, he angered the Devil Dog. The rabid monster hit back hard and, fortunately, the lowest-level armor managed to absorb the blow fairly well, ensuring that it was a national product.

‘All I have to do is watch out for the teeth.’

Realizing that the strike was less effective than he expected, Joo Min-Seong ended up in a slugfest with the Devil Dog.

Puck! Puck!

Thud!

“Woof woof!”

It was literally a dog fight.

“Huuk! Please die!”

Puck!

“GRRR!”

Thud!

He would have succeeded in hunting the Devil Dog if he was F-class, but his poor physical abilities did not deal a fatal blow to the monster.

Mana stones that could be extracted from the lowest level monsters that appeared in these gates were traded for only 10,000 won.

‘It’s so hard to earn even 10,000 won!’

“Grrrr!”

“Huff…Huff…”

Joo Min-Seong kept an eye on the Devil Dog while he calmly checked on his condition.

‘My health is at its limit.’

As expected, the Devil Dog noticed this and continued its war of attrition without going for any decisive hits.

“Woof!”

Bang! Kwazi!

“Ugh!”

The lowest-level armor that had resisted the Devil Dog’s attack was broken.

“No! My 500,000 won!”

“Grr…”

“Damn it!”

Only then did Joo Min-Seong realize that he had been defeated.

‘How could I not even beat the Devil Dog?! The guide said novice hunting was possible. Damn it! Is this how FFF-class is supposed to be? Let’s back off for now!’

Realizing the weakness of the FFF-class ability, Joo Min-Seong regretted entering the gate. He was the lowest in the eyes of other awakened people, but even the lowest-level monsters were stronger than him.

‘I was too complacent. I had to analyze my abilities first.’

The ability to be a building owner that Joo Min-Seong was given. And an unknown message.

‘I should have kept my cool.’

Joo Min-Seong, agitated because of the guards’ rants and beatings, failed to make the right judgment.

‘Building owner… I am a building owner, I should have gone to a building!’

He quickly turned away and, seeing an abandoned building with an open door, ran there.

“It’s all or nothing! You said I was a building owner! Please, any ability!”

“Woof!”

The Devil Dog ran after Joo Min-Seong.

“Huff! Huff!”

He succeeded in entering the building with the Devil Dog on his heels.

At the same time, a message appeared in his mind again.

[You have entered a building without an owner.]

[Ownership of the building has been transferred to Joo Min-Seong.]

[The store (partially destroyed) will be added to the List of Owned Buildings.]

[The building is not in a good condition, so no additional ability will be expressed.]

[The first successful ownership of a building gives you the ability to charge fees.]

[Payments will be adjusted to suit the environment and situation.]

“Woof… Ah…?”

“Huff! Huff…?”

For some reason, the Devil Dog was very embarrassed and suddenly lost his will to attack.

Similarly, the bewildered Joo Min-Seong checked the Devil Dog’s status and quickly read the message. Luckily, that was the moment when one of his few skills which he had acquired through reading books in his spare time, quick reading, was able to shine.

Reading the message quickly, Joo Min-Seong shouted in a hurry. For some reason, he was convinced that his ability would be activated.

“Be my guest! Billing fees!”

[The target was charged a fee.]

[The probability that the target will pay the fee is 0%.]

[Target was defined as an underling.]

[Joo Min-Seong has become the employer.]

[The employer can give orders to the underling.]

[This relationship cannot be released.]

[Only one underling can be held.]

[With the growth of capacity, you can increase the number of underlings you can control.]

The Devil Dog’s attitude changed dramatically after he cried out for a fee.

“Woof?”

“Sigh… what is this…”

Joo Min-Seong confirmed that the Devil Dog’s intention to attack was completely gone and calmly read the message.

[The employer can give orders to the underling.]

‘This is it.’

Joo Min-Seong saw a ray of hope. If he could create a monster vs monster situation and support his monster, he could win battles without breaking a sweat.

‘And also.’

[With the growth of capacity, you can increase the number of underlings you can control.]

‘Growth.’

That word gave Joo Min-Seong infinite hope.

“But how do I grow? Hmm…”

After much contemplation, Joo Min-Seong finally reached two keywords.

“Ownership of a building and charging a fee.’

Then, looking at the Devil Dog, Joo Min-Seong opened his mouth.

“Hey.”

“Woo wooo….”

“Give me the money.”

The first man to enslave a monster had appeared.
