The ‘October holidays’ passed by very quickly. Although my mother was getting old but just the name of ‘farmhouse and fishing’ had instantly invigorated her.
Of course there still was one thing that was making me feel a little uncomfortable. As per my mother’s confession my father came to meet her during holidays since he wanted to have dinner with both of us. I asked my mother did she say yes to his invitation.
My mother shook her head and told me that she knew he and I were estranged already so she was not sure whether I would agree or not.
I sneered; I most certainly did not wish to meet!!
My mother sighed helplessly, saying she knew I wouldn’t agree.

Happy days always fly quickly, very quickly. With the blink of eye these once-an-year vacations had already ended. People who were supposed to go to school, should go to school and people who were supposed to go to work, should go to work.
On the first day after holidays I went to the company with a completely refreshed mind, might be because I did not have to work for a long time. Brimming with positive energy I reached the office a couple of minutes earlier than the usual. As soon as I stepped inside the company building, I saw Li Mingang of the planning department.
You know how every office has a few employees who’re over-energetic, well-informed with a very nosy personality and innate ability to read other’s mind. Almost nothing could escape their eyes, brain and mouth. From the earthquake in Chile to RMB exchange rate, from the scandals of top stars to the idols currently popular over the internet, they are well versed on all kind of potential topics of gossip. Naturally such topics are only the additional spices, their primary focus is any news related to the company. It doesn’t matter whether the news is big or small, good or bad, public or private, it will be dipped in their saliva at least once.
Miss Li Mingang perfectly fit the description of such employees.
When I saw her, I smiled and greeted her. I intended to leave swiftly. Who knew this star gossiper was not only eloquent but also lithe.
Agile miss Li caught up with me easily and mysteriously said: “Secretary Xiao, did you hear?” This sentence sounded like the prelude.
I opened my ear and asked: “what happened?”
My reaction encouraged her further, with her two irises shining like glitter she said: “a new marketing director has been transferred to our company and he is terribly handsome.”

The two of us were still talking when suddenly a voice came from behind me: “Secretary Xiao, you came early today, ah.”
I turned around, that two-faced Wang Kai was looking at me. During the last three days we hadn’t met, he hadn’t changed a bit. An outstanding appearance but wretched disposition.

I silently obeyed. Took the folder form him and left quietly.
As per the rumors, the new marketing director was very handsome. Well, although all the handsome guys I had ever met were contemptible but still I was a little curious to know about the extent of his ‘terribly handsome’ handsomeness, not to mention, his classy personality
Before I could open the door of the marketing manager’s office I almost fell down. Perhaps since I was walking too fast, my foot tripped and I slid towards the marketing manager’s office door.
Ideally, at this time a handsome guy should have fallen off from the sky and picked me up, then idealistically we should have fallen in love at the first sight blah blah blah……….of course from my past experience I knew such ideal scenarios never happen in real life. So expecting nothing, I subconsciously grabbed the doorknob in order to avoid plunging towards the ground.
Then, a miracle happened. Just then, someone opened the door from inside, I could not let go of the doorknob immediately and sprang straight towards that other person.
When the man saw an unidentified object lunging forward from the outside, he frantically caught that object, me.
I promptly raised my head and was about to say thank you or sorry or something like that but when I saw his face not even a single word could utter out of my mouth
