Last Night

“Long time no see.” (Georg)

“Yes, Georg-sama seems to remain unchanged eternally.” (Ed)

Georg, who had arrived in the city of Nidea, first came to the Goldberg Company. As I arrived at the business, I had been waiting, and now I was passing through the room behind Ed who met me and was about to start talking. The carriage was left to the company’s personnel.

By the way, I did not bring Ferris along to the people who are in this business.

“This time, of course, it’s a business negotiation. I want the same thing, but will just ask for setting a half-year period instead of a fixed number.” (Georg)

“Half a year? Such an amount of time gives us plenty of opportunity.” (Ed)

“I hope so, but … this time it is not just an order for Ed” (Georg)

“Eh…?” (Ed)

Ed’s expression contorted at my words. I guess he did not expect this.

“I plan to give the same order to Lord Raymond. I do believe in your talent, but why should I limit myself to one company?” (Georg)

“…..Mr. Grevenberg?” (Ed)

“Yes. Well, let’s talk out the details at Raymond’s house. I pushed you without notification beforehand last time, so this time I will ask you properly. So, is it possible for you to contact with him, Ed?” (Georg)

“That … … Of course it is possible, but …” (Ed)

“If so, please ask it of him. And perhaps he will want to compete this time…. Ed, are you sure of your capabilities to hold a strong front in your trade?” (Georg)

“Well, of course!!” (Ed)

Ed stopped clogging his words and snapped back to thinking straight again. And after around 1 to 2 minutes:

“If it’s business, it will be a good fight.” (Ed)

He said with expressions that combine anxiety and confidence.

“Certainly, my financial strength will be inferior. However, our connections and ability to act are almost evenly matched with each other, and I can build on totally different things to come ahead in the competition. And more than anything … ” (Ed)

Ed suddenly said with a fearless smile.

“Our experience in this business is different. Besides, it’s a fact that I cannot stand behind the sidelines like Mr. Georg in such a straight game involving lords and business, no, this game gets my old blood racing. Most importantly, to make use of every bit of the machine called business, is a merchant’s strongest appeal.” (Ed)

His expression was exactly that of a genuine merchant.

“Indeed, it should be said that, for a fossil, you have a very good face. Well, at noon tomorrow, please come with me to see the lord. ” (Georg)

“It’ll be handled. More than that, do you have a little time after this? ” (Ed)

“Well … well … I don’t have any particular plans” (Georg)

“Would you like to share a meal with me? Because I would like to obtain as much information as I can as a person who must challenge a big game. ” (Ed)

Georg was feeling good about him not telling Ed the total truth.

“Well, it is a request from the host, and it is also human to want to favour those who are more careful than those who you do not have a relationship with.” (Georg)

This time, if we assume that a battle of equal talent will be unfolded as Ed said before, it will be prior information to greatly influence his chances of victory. Just knowing exactly how much budget and time you have in advance is surely a big advantage. Even if it is only one day. It’s truly a flying start, but that is just a benefit born from being sociable to Georg.

At least Georg isn’t conscious of this kind of misconduct this time. He thinks that this is distinction rather than discrimination.

It is because he is a man named Georg, who is tolerant to those who have friendly exchanges with him, and will give conveniences to those who don’t abandon their duty.

“Well, if it is okay, it will be a feast, even while we are quickly discussing the story. It is a cuisine recommended by this town ‘s business, so it will be delicious. ” (Ed)

“But will it be enough for the tongue of mister Georg?” (Cook)

“Humility is useless, so, please spare nothing on it.” (Ed)

Two people stand up at the words of Georg and leave the room. After that Georg told the business to check the contents of the carriage and determine the purchase price. I have not told Ed the contents yet, but I think I can have a laugh when I see his surprised face after the meal.

By the way, Ed suggested to prepare another carriage as a transport, but Georg politely declined. The horses that had driven Georg’s carriage had not been afraid because they had finally gotten used to him, but ordinary horses still showed visible fear when he would approach them.

They walked through the streets while blossoms bloomed….chatting without being lovey-dovey.

“My older brother …… I understand a little about my brother’s hardship …” (Ferris)

“Ferris, next is a report on the progress of gold work from the iron industry and consultation on the design” (Nina)

“Come home soon!” (Ferris)

Such a dialogue could be heard in the city of Garudeina at the time.
