I visited the city of Nidea after approximately 180 days.
The city of Garudeina had greatly transformed during this time.
The fields have been expanded, not of which all have been seeded, but if we look only at the size, it’s close to being twice as big as half a year ago. The extension itself was done by me, but its maintenance was taken care of by the limited agricultural staff. It goes without saying that I am greatly thankful to Nina and Helen, as it was particularly hard for the two of them.
Development of dairy products began in the animal husbandry, the number of livestock has also steadily increased, and the human workload is becoming rather harsh. It’s only thanks to Kurt’s skill that it is still manageable.
The fishing industry staff is now working to steadily increase the number of ships for deployment. It has recently finally become possible to transport goods with personnel on board, and due to its small size it is able to move at full capacity. Seafood has become a staple food in the city nowadays. However, there is a slightly negative factor to consider, which is having to train the new staff in swimming, which will possibly lower our efficiency. I have no choice but to believe in Tina.
The textile industry is currently expanding the scale of cultivation of cotton, hemp and dye plants and informed me that supply will not be delayed as the population increases. Leona is doing well, but still, having enough production for an increase of 1,000 people is doubtful. Moreover, the textile processing sector itself was established later than other departments. I will judge it after waiting a bit.
The wood industry is exclusively working on the construction of houses, but the improvement of its technical capabilities is obvious. If you have to build a lot of houses, you will want to improve your skills. At present, we devised a method of assembling only wood without using nails, prototyped it, and showed the movement to suppress the consumption of iron. When the staff increases, we may make them an independent organization. Now even wood figure carving and furniture making is done firmly, and because the technology and scale used is completely different, they are way too advanced.
In the iron industry recently we had made only ornaments and furniture using gold and jewelry, and currently they are producing more for future use. Now we have begun working on the manufacturing of money again. I am considering introducing the monetary system when securing the next large batch of inhabitants. If the population exceeds 2000 people, the appearance as a town will finally be finished, so otherwise we would someday have problems with barter and supplication. In that case, the exchange rate will fluctuate depending on the time of year etc, and if the crops that could be harvested are just distributed equally, the burden on the agricultural sector is large. Hence the money that is currently being mass-produced. I made them produce small copper coins, copper coins, small silver coins, silver coins, small gold coins, and gold coins.
By the way, the value of each money, if it is compared to Japanese yen:
Small copper coin -> ten Yen
Copper coin -> hundred Yen
Small silver coin → thousand yen
Silver coin → 5 thousand yen
Small gold coin → 10,000 yen
Gold coin → 50,000 yen

I would like to try these rates. Money is generally used for buying small things like food, so we decided to hold down the value. The reason is that nobody can purchase much if the amount becomes too much. Although we may manufacture something like ‘big gold coins’ with a value of 100,000 yen at some point. Actually I wanted to set currency units like “yen” and “dollar”, but I abandoned that though, as there is no one else who is familiar with those in this world, and therefore it may take time for people to adjust.
By the way, all the coins with “small” on their heads have holes in the middle. This is designed to quickly distinguish between coins. Needless to say, we use the Japanese five-yen coin or 50 yen coin as a motif.
The design of the inscriptions was made with motifs of flowers, crops, ears and tails of various families.
We are currently considering how to distribute the coins to the present inhabitants and to the newly arriving residents. I will have to make rate decisions and decide on tax rates, and even if I am not that busy, I am increasingly scrapping that time.
Starting with the completion of smithing the products, the products are then brought before Nidea’s Ed and Raymond for verification. After that I confirm the progress of the gathering of sub-people and detailed arrangements. Then I return to the city and visit each department to have meetings, give guidance and secure resources for the development of new land. As well as creating clothing, residence, an education curriculum for new residents, to find out how to deal with personnel increase in each division and other points which can be improved. Anyway, I lack time.
“Can a Dragunir die from overworking?” (Georg)
“To die now is the worst timing, I think?” (Ferris)
In the evening, when I finally laid on my bed, I murmured while being soothed by stroking Ferris’ ears.
“Well. It is also the result of my own behaviour and ambitions that this is now the situation…… Therefore, I can’t really despise these hardships. But that also means there is a reason to be healed. ” (Georg)
“Well… but if you survive this, you will become great and rich.”(Ferris)
Ferris occasionally raises a seductive voice like this. But, she knows well that my hands can’t be stopped with only that.
“Oh yeah … but it will surely be impossible for the kingdom to make gaudy movements for a while. In the meantime, it is time to improve the facilities and functions of the town, and it will be time to make a connection with other countries soon.” (Georg)
Right now Raymond and Ed are still working stealthily, but with 1000 people being transported there’s only a couple years left until it is revealed. They do not do anything that makes them stand out this time, but they are gathering sub-people from various places more carefully through a number of intermediaries. In order to protect their own positions, I gave them a time period of 200 days.
But, after completion of this plan it is very likely that people who focus on the movement of sub-people in the country will come out. In other words, it will be difficult to gather efficiently and secretly in another 3 or 4 years.
Therefore, we will look towards other countries.
“Other countries?” (Ferris)
“Yeah, that’s right …. the result of talking with Ed and Raymond; I think I will move in the Wilhelm Empire in the North, which is said to have the most sub-people.” (Georg)
Wi….. Wilhelm Empire….huh……is that a big country?” (Ferris)
Wilhelm Empire. It is a powerful country that holds the northern part of the continent, with a population of about 7 million to 7.5 million, a standing army of nearly 60,000, and a maximum mobilized force of 100,000 to 150,000, a powerful country without complaints. It is said that countries in the south side are still managing now by cooperating with each other, but if one country collapses it will be able to break the equilibrium. However, the empire is not completely centralized because of the size of the country so it seems to have the disadvantage that it takes months to prepare to mobilize.
“If we gather all the beastmen, elves and dwarves, there won’t be less than 80,000. Perhaps 10,000 may be the limit to transport here from there … but still, it is impossible to ignore those in the empire. Therefore, I’d like to secure a connection or information source as soon as possible ” (Georg)
“Indeed…” (Ferris)
“We are with 1000 people right now….. I don’t think it’ll be easy to get away for a while.” (Georg)
“Gu…get away? What? Ah….tsu! Ha……ha…..tsu!” (Ferris”
The talks of leaving had been frightening Ferris, but Georg caressed her ears and tail to mend her suffering.
This is a brief time of rest. Both of them knew well that it was the calm before the storm.

New residents, new institutions, new land, everything keeps changing in their tumutuous lives.
