Till now, Seth doesn't know Lillian's intention, so using this grand opportunity to test the girl, he quickly finished his drink in one gulp and placed the bottle aside.

"Lillian Grey, Can I ask you a question?" he urged.

"Uh?" Lillian disturbed from the sudden request. She looked up with a puzzled look at Seth.

She signed, giving Seth a chance to examine the girl's motives.

"Do you like Giselle?"

Lillian's eyes widened from his open question,

A loud gasp followed immediately.

"Woah, Mr. Seth," Lillian grunted hard.

She didn't prefer to answer the question and only wanted to run away at that instant itself.

"Stop dodging the question and answer."

Seth stayed firmed with his act, expecting only the answer and not excuses.

"Mr. Seth," Lillian snorted.

"That brain of yours is truly amazing for coming up with such a strange question."

She chuckled to hide her wildly accelerating heartbeats.

Lillian felt all of her blood rush to her face, adding a tint of reddish shade to her cheeks. She averted her gaze by focusing on the things faraway.

"Lillian?" Seth called.

"…"

"Lillian"

"…"

"Lillian Grey?"

Lillian finally turned back to see Seth.

"Do you think I'm asking this without any evidence?" Seth pointed out.

Finally turning to face Seth, another shockwave hit her.

Eyes widened, with brows raised to her forehead, she appears to be shocked from what she had just heard.

"Exactly, this is why I haven't told you yet."

"Do you know how many times I've seen you throwing your sweet little glances at Giselle?"

"Multiple times,"

"The number of times will even exceed your age."

Lillian Grey felt as if her brain melted into a puddle, as she kept hearing Seth throwing rocks at it.

'I- I stared at- H- He saw-' Lillian collapsed inside.

She felt as if her heart and mind, both exploded at the same moment.

It appeared as if her soul had left her body already.

...

"I only let you off the hook, knowing that you will soon recollect yourself."

"Look at you now, eloping with Giselle already!" Seth sneered.

Hearing the word 'elope' didn't help Lillian as she fought back.

"Would you stop it already?"

"Say, where did you two flee together?" Seth pestered.

Lillian sighed out loud.

"Mr. Seth, we didn't; we only stayed in our rooms," Lillian stated while shutting her eyes. She didn't want to look at Seth and give herself out.

"Of course,"

"Of course,"

For a second, Lillian rested, deeming that somehow she evaded the question quickly.

"Like, I could believe that in a million years!"

Lillian went back to mentally exploding once again from Seth's commentary.

"Ms. Grey?"

"Someone must have lied to you."

"You are not a good liar, and so, why do you keep trying something that's against your capacity?"

Lillian opened her eyes, still squinting, she looked at Seth apologetically.

Who would believe that the two stayed back obediently in a room?

"Tell me, where did you two elo-"

Seth's words ended as he saw Lillian glares throwing daggers at him.

He retracted from mentioning the word 'elope.'

Seth glared back at her, demanding an answer to his repeated question.

Receiving his glares, Lillian prepared rationally. In her brain, she devised a blueprint of what to only reveal and what other details to cover.

...

"We went to a nearby pond. It was small-" Lillian carefully answered, with every word she checked up on Seth.

Seeing her reply seriously, Seth engrossed into her answer and began asking his inquiries.

"Was it a good place?"

Seth was asking if the place was worth to check it out or not. Witnessing his interest, Lillian replied haughtily, sharing how she came to know about this place from her father and how scenic it resembled.

"So, you took her to a secluded small space to spend your little quality time together!" Seth remarked jokingly.

Even if she didn't do it, his comment naturally flustered Lillian Grey.

Such a reaction provoked Seth to tease her more, but for now, he stopped.

"Fine. Fine. Go on," Seth comforted.

When she finished bragging about the location, Seth stared at the campfire and smiled a little.

"Say, Mr. Seth, are you planning to take your boyfriend to this place?"

Shocked at the sudden mention of the 'boyfriend,' Seth looked around to check the possibility of someone else hearing their conversation.

"Silence, now," his words only targetted Lillian Grey with all the effects and impact filled with a strong warning.

Joining his little hunt, Lillian also checked around to find no one near them.

"Mr. Seth, I want to know why you behave this way."

"You are always confident and strongest, why do you have to hide about your boyfriend?"

Seth finished scanning the area and then focused on the little devil who is desperately trying hardest to blow his cover.

"It is my decision, got it?"

Seth's words silenced the girl in dismay.

"I mean, I think you two look good together, and that's why I wanted to know the reason behind this secrecy," Lillian moaned under her breath, making sure her voice reached its destination.

Seth's temple eased, and knitted brows from distress relaxed from catching her words.

"We- We look good together?" he asks shyly.

Lillian made thumbs-up sign in both hands to respond.

Seth laughed, surprising Lillian. It is the first time she saw him smiling so pleasantly. Till now, all of their meetings end up with Seth punishing Lillian Grey. However, just a word, not even the name, by just mentioning 'his boyfriend,' Seth smiled. It astounded her.

"We both went through a lot of things individually before becoming a couple. A lot of hatred filled us. We both went through depression and various struggles to get together. We made mistakes too by rebelling harshly to the ones we cared, but thinking about it now- it was like a deadly rollercoaster ride. In the end, we are glad we finished the ride."

"I'm glad that I chose him, I fought to be with him, and that I'm in love with him."

Seth went on to share about his emotions to Lillian. He felt like telling her, and so did it.

Lillian Grey never disrupted and listened to his story attentively; she wore an admiring smile on her face throughout the whole time. It made Seth feel more comfortable to continue to share.

...

"Wow, Mr. Seth, it's okay."

"Your decision must be correct. From what I heard, it is not like you are planning to hide it forever. So-" Lillian sniffed from the rare cold breeze that kept brushing her.

"I'm glad that I saw you on that day."

She revealed it naturally.

Seth smile and only nodded as if he appreciated Lillian for her heartfelt words.

"Alright, Mr. Seth, it's my turn now," Lillian cleared her throat and sat up straight.

Seth looked at her confusingly.

Lillian thought about it for a while and then asked,

"What is it- like- to fall in- love- with a guy?"

She framed her question after seriously thinking about it; her words surprisingly made him smile before; she didn't wish to ruin it now.

"You mean, what is it like to be gay?" Seth thought the girl teased her and so, changed his expression into serious mode.

Noticing the misunderstanding right away, Lillian Grey crossed her heart and admitted that she didn't mean in that way.

"Then?"

"I want to know, what it's like to finally meet your boyfriend, I meant the one you truly love," Lillian explained tensely.

Seth's smile returned but only slightly.

He sighed.

"I'm sorry for reacting too soon."

Seth sincerely apologized for his overreaction. He felt sorry for acting that way.

Seth always had a little soft spot for Lillian because she was the only notorious kid in his class. No matter how many times she gets caught, Lillian won't talk back or behave rowdily against Seth.

She remains quiet and accepts whatever punishment he gives. Not only because of it, by getting caught many times, had she got her presence engraved into Seth's school life. Hence, he looks after her as if she is her daughter.

Also, this kind of view he put on her made him feel sad if his words or behaviors hurt her.

Anxiously, he watched Lillian as he apologized.

"I'll forgive you if you say your lover's name," Lillian tricked grinning devilishly.
