At a hotel in Vegas:
"Shit." Lillian sighed. She knows when Shane can be serious and this time it was bad. She made her editor suffer too. Lillian hopped out the bed and took her laptop which she carries always. Just then a woman came out of the shower dressed in the bathrobe. She gave Lillian a look that said 'what the hell you are doing now?
"Ah…Lucy. I'm sorry babe. I really have to work right now." The other woman was none other than a rookie model Lucy. Lillian met her at a fashion show and then soon they started dating. Lucy gets busy during fashion season and so she missed spending time with Lillian. That was the major reason for both of them to be in Vegas. It was Lucy's idea to spend the night without any distraction.
"I came back straight from a shoot. We came here on a private jet and booked this super master suite room so that no one could disturb us. And now you tell me that you're going to work. I believe your deadline's not tomorrow or the next day."
"It was in this week. I almost finished it but, the boss wants me to complete it by tonight. I can't avoid it; it's from the top authority."
"Top authority? Am I not top authority for you?"
However, the reality was harsh. It shoved work at Lillian's face. She was disappointed. Seeing her gloomy face, Lillian called her. When she approached the bed and sat next to her, Lillian kissed her on lips.
"I know that you wanted us to spend time together. But look at me. You know it's not my fault."
"But…"
"It's alright. You just came back from a shooting right? Just give me tonight, I will finish my work and tomorrow the entire day, I'm yours. We could stay here in bed all day if you want….."
"Oh, please you're gonna sleep like a pig the entire day," Lucy spoke in disappointment.
"What, who said that? I can stay awake"
"For you"
Lucy knew the look Lillian had. It was definitely the one that says she can stay awake but however, end up snoring loudly.
"Do you remember when we went on our first date?"
"The first date, you say? Let me remember it!!!." Lillian brushed her memory back to the day when she met Lucy. Once her memories are revived she started revealing the story.
"Hmm….I met you in Paris for a fashion show."
"And….that weekend we went on a date."
"Ah….I remember we went to a local burger shop in the evening. Cuz the show ended around 5 Pm or –ish."
"I still remember that it was your last show, so you were okay with burgers and stuff."
"We ordered Jumbo twin burgers and Texas fries...and"
There was a huge pause. Lillian continued.
"I slept halfway eating."
She looked ashamed. Lucy kept nodding to the story and then she started to speak up.
"It was our first date and I still remember that you wore a blue jean and a black top with a long coat, lousy attire. Your hair was down and you were clearly tired. I asked you to push back our first date but you still insisted on going. So we went to this local burger shop and ordered, yeah you said that. We were eating and I went out in the middle to attend this call. After I returned, what I saw?"
Lucy looked at Lillian with a fierce stare.
"I saw you leaning back on your seat snoring in your sleep with a half-eaten burger on your right hand. Everyone at that place was staring at you and I had to wake you up. But what happened?"
"No, the famous author Lillian Grey was snoring at a local burger shop and was refused to wake up." I had to carry you back to the hotel."
Lillian felt that the story was funny. She even smiled turning her head back to avoid eye contact.
"I know. I regret it. But please I was all resting up until now. So, tonight doesn't make a big deal. I can manage it very well."
"Okay. Okay, I forgive you. Only because I'm little tired and since it was an order from the BOSS. Finish it soon." She kissed Lillian once again. "Thank you, darling. Tomorrow I'm gonna shock you to your core. Until then, sleep well my queen."
Lucy smiled at her greasy words.
"I love you"
"Love you more" Lillian sent flying kisses to her. Silly, Lucy still grabbed them anyways and went back to sleep.
