A/N: Can I FINALLY write something funny and not depressing? Let's try! By the way I'll again change of writing style. ^^
Emily's breath was echoing in the corridor.
She was one of the scientists of this special station. It was secretly built by the galaxy's government to study other galaxies technologies and develop new weapons to use as an advantage against them.
The Milky Way's Union [1] technological disadvantage was well known by humans. This is why its existence was made secret.
She turned at a corner and stopped to take her breath.
But yet…
The Darkness [2] found out about it. If they were able to access such confidential data, mankind is certainly already infiltrated to the core of the government.
And it had to be now…
Emily spat.
Just when they developed a new weapon…
But hope wasn't lost yet.
Emily slapped herself [3] to come back to her senses.
They sent a distress signal. So a S-class Officer should come.
If such a powerful individual came… He could eradicate the invaders, and their research would be transferred to the government's headquarters.
A dark shadow, randomly changing of shape every now and then, was moving along the corridor she just took.
Yes, moving was the right word. It was sometimes rolling, sometimes crawling, sometimes jumping…
It seemed unimpressive, but for Emily, it was a part of the Darkness. As for what was the Darkness, it was a gigantic deadly entity roughly of the size of a galaxy. Parts of its body could stay connected to its main body even after being cut. That mass of darkness sent its huge tendrils from time to time to try to absorb the surrounding galaxies.
But for now, she needed to move.

A cheerful voice sounded as she felt a light tap on her shoulder.
She just stopped herself from crying out loud at the last moment.
She was almost frightened to death.
She turned to the man behind him.
He was quite short for a man, about 1 meter and 70 centimeters. He had a old-fashioned hat, as these cowboys in far-west movies, but his clothes were the Union's officer uniform, black and skintight. The contrast between these two totally different styles as well as his seemingly constant grin caused him to look… idiot.
-Where is the S-class officer?
She immediately assumed he was this powerful and respected figure's student, or trainee.
-Just here.
-Eh, where?
She looked around.
He put his left hand on the side of his head and did a peace sign, looking ridiculously awkward, and said:
-Just here ♥♥☆!
-…
She… she tried to not look reality in the eyes, but didn't succeed.
She was doomed.
-Don't worry, young maiden, I am here!
He said, winking of an eye.
That's what's worrying me! She thought.
He then directly walked in the corridor before she had the time to stop him.
The Darkness reacted instantly to that new presence and pounced at him at a terrifying speed.
He then drew a gun she didn't see that was hanging on his waist.
He shot and…
The darkness disappeared.
She was dumbstruck.
