Lin Xinyu staggered to see the scattered photos. Suddenly aware of what had happened, he crawled around Lin Xin’s thighs and begged, “Lin Xin, I know I was wrong.”
Lin Xin grabbed his collar and asked, “Was this what I taught you?”
“I taught you to do whatever it takes to get there, didn’t I? What’s the difference now between you and the dean? You know what? People like you should go to hell!”
“Do you really think the people in the orphanage didn’t know about me? They all knew, but they just wouldn’t say anything. Wu Pingping, Wu Anan, and Zhao Qiang, they all turned a blind eye and left me for dead. If I died, I died. I might as well be a stray dead by the side of the road.”
“I am nothing. No one took pity on me. Why should I pity them? Isn’t collusion a crime? Tell me, where is hell? If there’s hell in this world, why would they still be alive? They had never been condemned by their conscience.”
Lin Xin’s heart ached for him as she looked at him and trembled.
“We could fight back to those who hurt us but hurting others isn’t how it’s done.”
“Men… whether we’re beaten black and blue, we must think positively and trust heaven. If we can’t be good people, we try not to be bad guys, okay?”
“No,” Lin Xinyu gnashed his teeth and showed a face as ferocious as the devil, “Have we ever met a good man?”
“All the guys we met were all bad.”
“The dean of the orphanage and Cheng Qingrong, who adopted us, did he really pity us?”
“No. He was just using us so he could stay with his wife and get what he needs. If it weren’t for you, the dean would still be in the orphanage.”
“Would Cheng Qingrong be so kind to us without you? Didn’t everything we have today depend on your blood, sweat, and tears?
“You tell me not to be a bad guy, but all I know is that good people get nothing in this world.”
Lin Xin looked at the boy in front of her incredulously, and could no longer find that little shadow of innocence.
Maybe he’s right. What’s wrong was that she didn’t teach him well. She let him be acquainted with the negativity of the world too early that his three outlooks were twisted out of shape.

She dejectedly said, “Go away. I never want to see you again.”

Lin Xinyu did not want to go and tightly hugged Lin Xin’s leg: “I will not go.”
Lin Xin whispered, “I don’t want to say it again.”
Lin Xinyu still did not want to let go, “I’m not leaving.”
Lin Xin closed her eyes, took a deep breath, pulled out the fruit knife on the table, raised her hand and scratched her arm. Bleeding, she dropped the knife and said, “See? Do you want me to say it again? I just wish we’d never see each other again in this life.”
“I’ll go, I’ll go,” Lin Xinyu let go and dared not come forward as he looked at her bleeding arm. His lips trembled and he said, “Y-you, you, g-go, w-wrap…”
Lin Xin roared, “Get out!”
Lin Xinyu did not dare to stay any longer and crawled away.
As soon as Lin Xinyu walked away, Lin Xin sat on the ground howling and crying. Amy Zhen, who was so frightened motionless, run up to Lin Xin and drew some paper towels to stop the bleeding.
“He, he’s gone. Don’t cry.”
Lin Xin changed from crying to choking. She picked up a picture on the ground, looked at the familiar yet strange face and said, “He was very cute when he was a child, like a beautiful angel.”
“I often wondered how I could have such a lovely child. God must have felt sorry for me and sent him to me. But now that he’s like this, I didn’t teach him well,” She picked up another picture. It was a photo of Lin Xinyu shot from afar while he was walking on the street. Not far behind him, there was a man in a trench coat, his right hand hidden in his clothes, waiting for an opportunity.
