hapter 120: Her and My Heart

T/N: Guys, I have stories to recommend! They’re Wattpad originals, the authors are great. I’ll give you their names at the end of the chapter.

Lin Xinyu stared at her intensely for a while, then suddenly broke into a mischievous giggle.

“Miss Lin, what do you think I’m going to do?” He straightened up and sat down — fifty centimeters from Lin Xin. “I was just kidding,” he said, resting an arm against his seat.

Lin Xin, with a heavy face, leaned against the window and said, “Can Mr. Lin take me back now?”

“Okay, let’s go home now.”

He did not open the door and rushed straight from the back seat to the front. As the car started, he rolled down the window. The breeze blew in gently, Lin Xin took a big breath and felt more comfortable.

The car moved slowly and steadily.

It was a while before Lin Xinyu broke the silence.

“Miss Lin is not in good health? I used to be in poor health, just like you are now. I couldn’t walk for too long. The situation was such, one couldn’t move, and if one did, one would faint. As long as you keep exercising, you’ll get better. ”

Lin Xin was in no mood to talk to him. Leaning her head on the window, she looked at the passing scenes. They were driving along the elevated road, the traffic on the road below continued to flow, converging into a dotted line extending into the distance.

Lin Xinyu could still be heard as if he were speaking to himself.

“I was not in good health. The doctor said I wouldn’t live to be 18, but right when I felt like I was going to die, someone gave me a heart and brought me back to life. I do not think it is a happy thing to be alive, but I feel that I should not fail her heart, so I live well in this world for her. Do you know what that feels like?”

Lin Xin had been listening to him talk, and when she heard him mention herself, she was sad. She couldn’t help but say, “Unexpectedly, you’re alive. Then live well, to the fullest, not half heartedly.”

“I feel I’m living a fate worse than death. Not a day goes by when I wish that, walking down the street one day, I get hit by a flowerpot and just die.”

Lin Xin felt a sharp pang in her heart. Once the pain had subsided,  she smiled and said, “It’s better to live than die.”

Lin Xinyu bowed his head and smiled. “Well, you’re right. I’ll live well. I was a little rude just now. I just think you are very much like her. That’s why I did something out of line.”

Lin Xin, who was originally in a bad mood, listened to his words attentively. It seems that he really regarded her as a stand-in.

Is there anything weirder than this? There must be something wrong with her!

Lin Xinyu continued. “You are really like her, so I can’t help following you. When I saw you and your boyfriend coming out of the restaurant, I wanted to see you off. I didn’t mean for your boyfriend to end up in the hospital. I’m very sorry, it was an accident. I do like you because you are very much like her, and I am so sorry that you always remind me of her. You don’t have to worry. I won’t do anything to you. Just think of me as an ordinary friend. We can go out for tea whenever you’re free. Usually, such a situation will not last long, I will not disturb your life, you can rest assured.”

Is he giving himself an explanation for what he just did?

It was as if his refined behavior was justified, and her doubts about him recognizing her were dispelled. He may not have really recognized her, but he just felt she was a lot like her. She was ready to bid the past goodbye and start life anew. No matter whether he recognized her or not, she had to draw a clear line with him.

Lin Xin leaned over the window and politely said, “That’s good. I can’t say when I’ll be getting married, it might be in a few days. You should come over sometime.”

“OK, let me know then. By the way, are you on Wechat? If you add me, it will be convenient to contact you later by phone. ”

Lin Xin considered for a moment and out of courtesy gave him her cell phone number. After the two had exchanged numbers, they soon drove to Lin Xin’s house.

Once she got out of the car, she remembered that she had yet to call Wang Changding. She dialed the number. She heard two beeps before the line went blank. Ill at ease, she dialed again. This time she got through.

“Hello?”

The voice of a young woman came from the other end of the phone.
