Chapter 42: Shredded to Pieces

Lin Xinyu’s legs felt heavy as if they were filled with lead. He trudged towards Lin Xin with difficulty, step by step, then lifted his hands to reach for the red marks on her body. Just when he was two millimeters away from her skin, he stopped. The boy gasped for breath while his other hand was clenched into a fist, beating his own chest. He felt as if he could die, but despite his condition, he resisted. He grabbed the scissors from Lin Xin’s hand and stepped on the bloody trail towards the Dean.

Lin Xinyu’s pale face was like a raging fire, a fire from hell that could burn down everything.

The Dean, who was already in pain, had suddenly numbed in fear when he saw the boy step towards him like a terrifying demon. The man couldn’t help but drag his body backwards.

Without warning, Lin Xinyu madly slashed the scissors downwards towards the Dean.

The man attempted to dodge and the scissors scraped over his face, leaving a long bloody mark. He screamed and rolled over twice towards the side while grasping the heavier wound on his lower body. But his pain was still unbearable.

Lin Xinyu lifted the scissors and rushed towards the Dean once again. Suddenly, a pair of powerful hands firmly grasped his wrist, immobilizing him. Lin Xinyu glared coldly at the teenager who stood in his way.

An unspeakable hatred rose from the depths of his heart as he cried, “I want to kill him, I want to kill this beast!”

The Young Master replied, “Killing won’t solve the problem. Only the most foolish person will use murder.”

The young man’s overwhelming strength stopped Lin Xinyu in his place. The boy had nowhere to vent his anger; he continued to hold on to the pair of scissors, refusing to let go, even though it was useless.

Lin Xinyu asked, “Do you know what he did to her?”

The young man glanced at Lin Xin who was trembling at the corner, but he didn’t say a word in reply.

Lin Xinyu continued, “You have no idea.” What the Dean had done to her, he had done to him in the past, but at this point the boy already felt numb to it. But she was different. She was still…a pure white sheet of paper. And the Dean had shredded this paper to pieces. It would take a lifetime to collect those shredded pieces of paper, but how could it ever be whole? There will always be a missing piece, leaving that sheet of paper incomplete and inferior.

He didn’t want her to become that kind of person, just like him.

The young master lowered his head and said, “I know.” He was already fifteen years old so he was aware of sensitive topics between men and women. But witnessing such a situation for the first time, he couldn’t bear to gaze directly at such a scene.

“Ah!” Suddenly, a scream interrupted the youth’s conversation. The Young Master’s mother stood outside the doorway while staring at the bloodied ground. She had heard the commotion from a distance but she never expected to see such a scene. What’s going on? Where did my Xiao Tian go?

When the Young Master heard his mother’s anxious voice, he was afraid to frighten her with the scene inside, so he shouted, “Mom, don’t come in.”

After hearing her son’s shouting, the mistress’s timid heart took a bit of courage. She closed her eyes and stepped into the door. As soon as she entered the room, she saw the Dean with a bloodied lower body, lying unconscious on the ground. Her scalp went numb and she didn’t dare move forward. Instead, she turned around, searching for her son’s figure. When she discovered where he stood and found that he wasn’t hurt, she finally sighed with relief.

At this time, Lin Xin’s voice resounded from the corner, “Don’t come over, don’t come, don’t…”

The mistress’s heart felt gripped with tension as she finally realized what had happened. Unlike the reckless and careless young boys in the room, the lady took off her coat and wrapped Lin Xin with it.

Lin Xin shrunk in fear as she looked up at the woman with panic. Her unfocused gaze slowly regained sobriety until she finally saw the person in front of her show a reassuring smile. Lin Xin took the Lady’s hands, laid her cheek on that soft palm, then looked up at the woman like a puppy while shouting, “Mom, mother, you came to pick me up. Mom, mom, I really miss you.”
