The rampaging bear soon looked like a hedgehog with all the arrows stocked our of its body. its Hp dropped like a stone in water and soon it only had 25% left.
however the squads were also in miserable condition. squads 3, 7, 9, and 10 were basically wiped out, only a few lucky ones were able to escape the death-nado.
I kept the red dot trained on the bears back firing my arrows as fast as I could aim them. one after another they flew through the air, and I was getting pretty good with shooting my bow if I do say so myself, but all the practice I had came at a price, and that price was my arrows.... all the arrows I had, finally ran out. now my bow just became a decorative stick. and it seemed like everyone was having the same problems I was. all the mages were running low on mana, and the archers were out of arrows.
with no other options we all drew our blades and prepared for close combat. I unsheathed my daggers and clenched them till my knuckles were white and took a few deep breaths, then Sonya stepped forward noticing everyone's current situation and said a few words of encouragment.
"everyone is out of ammo at this point, so if we want to win all that's left is close combat. so each squad will attack and when your low on health fall back and heal. other wise my only advice for everyone is strike fast, strike hard, and survive!!!"
after her brief words of encouragment she sent a runner to inform the other squads of the plan then sonya turned, and charged toward the bear, she was then followed by a wave of elves. I was swept up in the moment and ran at the bear screaming my very intimidating war cry.
"wraaaaa--gree--aaaah"
half way through my war cry my voice cracked but no one really noticed or cared.
since our squad lead the charge we were the first to attack. Sonya was amazing as she gracefully dodged the bears grizzly swings, and landed some very impressive swings of her own.
I stuck to the bears back, as Sonya distracted the bear with her superior agility, and madly slashed, hacked and stabbed, at the bear with my daggers wolves bane.
a few some if the other more agile elves were helping Sonya keep its attention while the mass majority of the squad did the same as me and went wild. the bear got a few hits in on some of the elves and was beginning to take notice of the ones hitting his back. so when the Bears HP dipped to 15% is when Sonya made the order to retreat so another squad could take over.
we backed up and let the next squad take over . how ever when fenrir saw the bear was almost dead he ordered squads 5, 6 and 8 to attack the bear simultaneously in the ernest hope to kill the bear as fast as possible.
and it seemed to be working within a few minutes the bears HP hit 7%, fenrir ordered squads 1 & 2 to join in also and for squad 4 to finish healing and join the fray. everyone saw the light at the end of the tunnel the bear was almost down and I was already imagining how to spend my stat points
" when I level up after this. I need to invest more into speed and Dexterity. that way I can be as fast and nimble as Sonya."
but soon the bears HP hit 5% and it lurched upright on its hind legs it unleashed a roar that was so powerful that a gale of wind swept through the surroundings. then the bear slammed it's now massive paws on the ground making the earth tremble and blowing all the squads that were close to the bear far away and leaving them in a stunned state.
the Bear then stumbled and fell sideways its red fur was gone and it began to breath heavily, it staggered to its feet and moved toward the down elves.
luckily or unluckily squad 4 was the only squad that was relatively unharmed. since we were farther away from the battle recovering.
" We need to take the bear down and give everyone some time to recover from the stun"
Sonya barked
"everyone who can fight let's move now!!!"
almost every elf in squad 4 got up and with hardened faces set in steel we all charged toward the bear. it was wounded heavily and out of the berserk state so it would be relatively easier to kill it.
Sonya and the elves from squad four went back to our same strategy of Sonya and a few more agile elves distracting the bear as we all took took dashing slashes at the bear its HP fell to 2% when I dashed toward the bear. turned into a bullet I ran faster than I thought possible and I plunged both of my silver daggers into the bears hide and attempted to eviscerate it. it was a critical hit thanks to the effect of my new daggers and the rest of the bears HP soon turned to zero. then it slumped over never to move again. I pulled out my daggers looking in disbelief at my hands
