Chapter 1- Talk Under the Stars

The sun at dusk has a sly beauty, and it falls through the gaps of the clouds, depicting a lazy atmosphere. The intricate tombstones dragged long and narrow shadows in the dim sunset, creating a different atmosphere.

Not far from the gaze, a man with marshmallow white hair was standing at the edge of a lush poplar tree was holding a little girl.  There is no doubt that these two are father and daughter.

What Marco noticed just now was the back of the girl with pale hair and a long waist.

Of course, Marco is not a pedophile. He is not interested in a little girl who seems to be at the age of ten – although he is now almost the same age. It’s just this long hair, giving off the shining glow of the setting sun. The unique scene is really clear.

Marco couldn’t help but look at it for a bit, but it’s just that. He paused and immediately removed his gaze and took the suitcase back into town.

Just as he was leaving the graveyard, he vaguely heard the man’s voice.

“Luna, let’s go back, before it gets too late.”

Luna? Light, gold hair? In the depths of Marco’s mind, the few words that seemed to float around.

“It can’t be?”

Marco stopped again and squatted in the same place, and then he plunged into the bushes on the side of the road – he wanted to go back and confirm.

When Marco returned to the cemetery, from the woods, the father and daughter had left. He deliberately went to where the two stood and looked down at the tombstone.

“Pandora Lovegood . . . Lovegood, it should be the same.” Marco grinned a bit and then ran off. “Looking for an active wizard to ask for direction, this is perfect. Even better, maybe I can borrow the fireplace from their house! What is the name of that toy? Floo . . . Floo Powder?

“That . . . Mr. Lovegood, wait a moment!”

The father and daughter apparently did not go fast, or fortunately, they had not left with magic, so Marco could catch up.

“Hey, who are you?” Luna’s father, Xenophilius, looked back at the questionable Marco who approached them.

“Oh, yes.” Marco quickly ran in front of them, and took a breath, and then continued, “I am a fan of the magazine you write, you know I really like the articles you write, it really adds color to my life.”

In fact, Marco couldn’t even remember what the magazine was called, but it didn’t affect his use of this as a means of conversation.

“Well. . . the Crumple Horn Snack, yes, the Crumple Horn Snack. I hope you know, I have always believed in their existence, although I have been unable to find them.” Marco tried to remember the dusty memories. Recalling all the sporadic pieces that can be thought of, and throw them as a bargaining chip to the father and daughter standing in front of him.

“Hello, friend.”

Luna’s tone was very awkward, but the silver-gray eyes were staring at Marco’s face. It can be scene that she has some interest in Marco.

“Haha, thank you for your support, my dear little reader.” Xenophilius nodded happily.

When Marco saw it, he immediately carried out his special skills to gain trust, included a smile, and spoke with excitement, and acted like he was a loyal reader.

The one large and two small figures drifted away from the road, and the laughter continued. This time the conversation was obviously very successful.

In the end, Marco was not accidentally invited to the Lovegood’s home, and planned to live there for some time. This is only because he “just happened” to mention that he will be entering Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on September 1st this year.

Without any accident, Luna will be enrolled next year and then Marco will become her senior.

“You will have to take care of your junior next year Mr. Marco.” Xenophilius patted Luna’s hair, as she smiled, “Come! It seems that today’s dinner needs to be a bit more abundant, we have to welcome your senior in advance!”

Marco had to say that it can be seen from this “very rich” dinner.

The economic situation of the Lovegood family does not appear to be very good. But this is not very important to Marco, he is not a luxury person. For him, poverty and hunger are the norm in childhood.

Not to mention, there are many foods on the small table in front of him, which are things that Marco has never seen before. Some of them are a bit strange, but the tastes is still different, and the weight is very good.

What makes Marco especially like is the soup made from the Gulping Plimpy, which is a very delicious dish. Of course, there meat is not very good, it is estimated that the amount of exercise is too much, so that the meat is too lean, and there was the strange smell of earthworms.

“Did you have enough child?” Xenophilius saw Marco put down the spoon in his hand and could help but ask, “Perhaps a cup of Gurdyroot?”

“Oh, no, thank you, I think I have eaten too much.” Marco touched his stomach, embarrassed, “Do you mind if I go for a walk?”

“Of course, you can have Luna accompany you around, it’s safe, and the air is great.” Xenophilius shrugged. “And I’m afraid that I have to prepare for tomorrow’s work. You know writing manuscripts or something.”

“Luna, don’t know if I can invite you to take a walk together?” Marco turned to her and looked at the girl who was standing next to him.

“Well?” Luna sighed and turned her head. “What? Oh, of course, we can continue to talk about magical creatures . . . “

“Yes, I think it is a good choice to talk about unicorns. It is said that they are also famous to Muggles.” Marco smiled and stood up to put on his coat, then opened the door that was not far away.

Everything here is quite nice, that is, the house is a bit overcrowded, which reminds him of the small attic that he has lived in for three years.

The air in the evening is still familiar, but the here is much more refreshing than Thomas Lane in Torpoint, after all the Lovegood home was built on a hill.

The wide vision and the stars in the sky made Marco’s eyes blurred, and Luna’s character is not unrelated to this living environment.

“It’s beautiful here and there is a feeling of freedom.”

Here, without any obstruction blocking your footsteps, Marco walks with his feelings and turns his eyes to the endless night sky.

Luna, who was talking about mistletoe and shackles, stopped talking when she heard this sentence, stared at Marco and looked at him, then put her eyes on the stars.

“Luna, you are here, there is the taste of freedom, do you smell it?” Luna said softly, the confusion in her tone seemed to be even worse than usual.

“What?” Marco heard a sigh of relief, then immediately remembered what it was like blinking, “Oh yes, what did you mother say?”

“Mom also liked it here. She often took me to look at the stars when she was resting.” Luna nodded and couldn’t see anything from her expression, but something is obviously not so easy to let people feel.

Marco nodded. He vaguely remembered that Luna’s mother had passed away, perhaps not long before. Of course, he also remembered his mother, in this life, and in her life.

“It is said that the position and trajectory of the stars can be used to as a basis for prophecy, and the centaurs seem to be quite good at this.”

Take Marco himself as an example. He thinks that at this time, it is the most correct choice to evade lightly, rather than saying the phrase “I am very sad about this” or “I am sorry”. But Luna is obviously not that kind of ordinary girl.

“But my mother also passed away. I think I understand the feeling you said, but I am thinking, this may not mean that we can no longer see my mother.” Marco though about it, then continued. “The principle of magic has always been vague, if we can study it more thoroughly . . .”

Luna’s face finally had some resemblance of an ordinary person’s expression.

“Once you make a mistake, it will be very dangerous.” Luna’s voice is still very light, but the meaning of it is still there.

“Oh, I think your right.” Marco wiped his forehead.

Luna stared at Marco for a moment and showed a little smile. She grinned and gently added: “But this is indeed a way.”

Although the night wind is refreshing, it is still a bit cold after all. Marco shivers and pull on the coat. He waved at Luna and went back to the house together, then turned and walked to the house that was built like a chess piece. Luna stood behind and looked at Marco’s back, then licked her lips.

“Wit beyond measure, is a man’s greatest treasure.” Luna’s spoke quietly.
