Tangerine had grown significantly in the past few years.
It was quite an accomplishment that he could speak clearly despite how few the years .

He had said he didn’t know which class he was the master of yet. He decided to believe Khan’s explanation that only the dragon could distinguish classes of their own after they had grown.

Cheol-ho turned his eyes to the newspaper.
The newspaper was the same as it always was. It was a technology that would disappear if the magic stone’s engineering technology developed a little more, but it still did its job to provide information as of now.

Let’s see.
In general, the guardian of a particular region, XXX, had cleared the dungeon that had appeared somewhere, and in another area XXX, someone had awakened, and was a person of some level of ability.

In fact, they weren’t that interesting.
Among the articles, there was a particular article that caught Cheol-ho’s eye.

-Consideration of recent petty thefts.

A petty thief?

He read the article with his head tilted.
– Recently, many merchants in Seodaemun-gu have been troubled by the rampant petty thief. They said they couldn’t even predict the thief’s next movements.

First of all, the thief was found to be obsessed with ‘shiny things’ and ‘food.’ This included the treasures found during raids; mostly magic stones… …the mass disappearance of the low-level treasures currently circulating in the market had prompted public calls for the awakening association to step up.
But first of all, there was no physical damage done to the targets, and no one saw the thief. …..

A petty thief obsessed with shiny things and groceries? Cheol-ho became curious and continued to read the article.

And then ,
“Dad-”
Tangerine stood in front of Cheol-ho, calling him

The little one was now bigger than he used to be, now the size of three Chihuahuas. Now he could lift his upper body by supporting himself with his two hind legs, perhaps because his legs were a little stronger than before.
Tangerine’s two front legs had three toes (should they be called fingers?), but they still had the dexterity of a hand.
Cheol-ho, who turned his attention to Tangerine, found him holding a cup of water in his mouth.

“Umur, Umur-”
What does that mean?
“Drink? Water?”

Tangerine nodded. Every time he nodded, the water in the cup splashed out. Cheol-ho tilted his head and took the glass of water.

“I’m not that thirsty” – Tangerine stares at Cheol-ho with his innocent eyes wide open.
“Sigh. I’ll drink it then.”
He was going to take a sip.

“Don’t drink that water, Cheol-ho!”

Khan shouted, panting.  Somehow, he crawled out of the bathroom and reached for Cheol-ho.

“……what the hell are you thinking this morning?”

Khan muttered, feeling nauseous.

“That water contains a great deal of germs.”

“…….”

“Tangerine learned about a well today in a picture book.”

“A Well?”

“A well is a place to scoop up water and drink.”

“Yes.”

“And in his eyes, the toilet and the well looked alike.”

“…….”
Cheol-ho felt a chill run up his spine. As if Tangerine was thinking of something, he crawled up the kitchen’s sink, whimpering, and landed on the floor with a cup in his mouth.

Then, he headed to the bathroom. He scooped up the water resting in the toilet into his cup. Careful with his movements, with the cup in his mouth, he went to Khan.

“Oppa, Umur, Umur-“

“You don’t mean…..”

Khan nodded grimly.

“Yes, I already drank it.”
Tangerine grinned with an innocent face. Cheol-ho stared at Khan and Tangerine, and as expected, he laughed.

.

.

.

.

.

.

“Wow.”

The lunch of the day began with Choi Jae-woo’s exclamation.
“Boss, this kimchi is really good. Did you make it this time? Wow, this tastes really different.”

Choi Jae-woo was a very talkative man. Cheol-ho sat down with a smile on his face , and nodded.

“Thank you.”
Choi Jae-Woo continued to eat the radish kimchi, saying it was delicious.
He happened to get ‘good ingredients’ and used them, and it tasted better than he had expected . Just in case, he had let a customer try it first. The response was amazingly positive.

“How on earth did you make it?”

“The Kimchi, well…”

Cheol-ho added as he pondered.

“I’m sure it’s just a touch.”

Then the door opened, and a huge man entered.

He had a familiar face. He seemed more cheerful than the last time. The man bowed as soon as he saw Cheol-ho.

“Good morning, sir.”

“Oh, hello.”

It was Kim Man-ho.

The  man who was able to eat so much , a man whom Cheol-ho helped without realizing. His attention was also drawn to the man who entered the room with a tired face next to Kim Man-ho.
“This is Captain Kim Sang-hu.”

“Ah.”

He heard that Kim Man-ho was officially scouted by Ma Chang-sa’s team. It was good to be an official member of the team that protected the West Gate.

Kim Sang-hu looked a little younger than Cheol-ho had originally thought. Looking closer , he looked like he was in his mid to late 20s even though he was old. However, he exuded a strange aura.
As Cheol-ho slightly raised his head, Kim Sang-hu greeted him quietly.

“Hello. I’ve heard a lot about you.”

He was more polite than he thought.
Cheolho thought it was surprising.

Choi Jae-woo jumped up and saluted Kim Sang-hu.

“Ma-Machangsa! Good afternoon!”

“Yes?”

Kim Sang-hu ‘s eyed widened as he muttered, “Ah-ah-ah,”  His gaze falling to Choi Jae-woo’s name tag.

And then , he slightly lowered his head.

“Yes, hello. Good afternoon. It would have been a really good afternoon if it weren’t for the integrated meeting.”

Kim Man-ho sat next to Choi Jae-woo, bowing his head slightly.
Choi Jae-woo sat in his seat , evidently surprised to see Kim Man-ho.

“Oh, my God, you’re the god of food, aren’t you?”

“Yes?”

Kim Man-ho looked around, scratching his head awkwardly.

“Yes…”…hahaha.”

“What do you mean god of food ?”

Choi Jae-woo replied to Cheol-ho’s question

“This is Kim Man-ho, the food god who played a great role in the Sinchon Tunnel Raid a while ago. He defeated the hidden boss on his own. Oh, my God, there was a rumor all over the world about how great you were at that time. Besides…”
Cheolho laughed.
” There was a modifier put in front of your name when you become famous. It’s kind of a nickname, an epithet of sorts “

“Well sir, I’d like some ramen, please.”

Kim Man-ho ordered with a smile.

“Do you still eat ramen these days?”

He nodded at Cheol-ho’s question.

“Yes, I always eat ramen for one meal every day.”

He had a good mindset.

He may, if he was lucky, become a class master in a few years.

“Good.”

Kim Man-ho took a new awakening certificate out of his pocket and showed it to Cheol-ho.

[Class 4 Awakening Certificate]

[Kim Man Ho]

[Age: 42]

[Capacity: The God of Food]

“Thanks to you. I’m always grateful.

“Don’t mention it.”

Kim Man-ho grinned. It was a charming smile. Somehow, good people seemed to come to his store often.

Kim Sang-hu also ordered ramen, saying he suddenly found his appetite

The two men began to slurp on ramen at the same time. Kim Sang-hu’s eyes were wide open in shock as he watched Kim Man-ho eat five packets of ramen all at once.
“It’s great, sir.”

“Hahahaha.”

The relationship between the two didn’t look so bad.

“Go first, I heard you need to go to your daughter’s school today?”

Kim Man-ho scratched his head.

“But I’m sorry to leave first.”

Kim Sang-hu shook his head.

“It’s okay. You’d better enjoy your private life after work, and we’re always on standby, so take a rest when you can.”

By the time Kim Man-ho left the store saying he’d stop by again, Kim Sang-hu was thinking hard about something.
When Cheol-ho turned his eyes back to the newspaper and looked up, he saw something odd.

Kim Sang-hu somehow fell asleep with his jaw on the table.

* * *

It was three hours until he woke up.

“Hmm?”
He was wondering how he ended up there, but he realized that he had come all the way here because he was led by a rookie uncle.

“Oh, no, I was asleep the whole time.’
Well, I’ve been up all night for almost a week.

It was because of the dungeon that appeared in the tunnels of Sinchon and Seodaemun, which were recently opened. He didn’t know that a Hidden Boss would show up, but thanks to Uncle, the god of food, it was defeated without any losses.

Immediately after that, a new headache arose. A petty thief in the West Gate!

In addition, another integrated meeting season had come.

The meeting was held for two nights, with second-class ranked awakening people defending five districts in Seoul and the  first-class awakening people reporting to the head of the Association of Awakening People.
Damn it.

In any case, it had been such a tough week that even three bodies were not enough to handle the work.

– Many merchants had been troubled by the recent wave of petty thieves.

-First of all, the thief was obsessed with ‘sparkling things’ and ‘foods.’ ….

He heard the radio and turned his head towards it, the owner sat nearby, listening to the announcement  and smoking.
“Oh, my goodness.”

“It’s okay.”

When he looked outside the store, the sun was setting. He suddenly remembered his food, looking down at the bowl of ramen. The ramen was so swollen that it was no longer edible.

“Oh, I’m sorry.”
“It’s ramen anyway. Would you like to have a decent meal?”

Kim Sang-hu shook his head at Cheol-ho’s question.

“It’s okay, I don’t have an appetite. More than that…”

For some reason , he wanted a drink.

“May I have a drink with you?”

“Drinking, that’s… But we only serve soju and beer.”

Kim Sang-hu thought for a moment, then nodded.

“Soju, please. Please give me a good bargain, sir, I am a picky eater.”

“Hmm…….”

The ingredients he bought at the market today were fish.

“How about raw fish?”
“Hm?”
Kim Sang-hu stared at Cheol-ho.

“I just bought a good fish.”

Cheol-ho grinned.

* * *

Monsters appear beyond the cracks of different dimensions, and the age of monsters had begun on the land. The same could be said about the sea.

Fish, which were common on Earth 30 years ago, were now hard to find. However, monsters with similar flavors were being caught.

Here we go.
He decided to look over the fish he bought today.
The body was about 60 centimeters in size. It was named ‘German Fish,’ and it seems to still be young ..

An adult was over three meters tall, but when it was grew fully , the whole body would have too much muscle and would taste poorly. However, its current size was perfect for sashimi.

This German fish tasted like white fish. It was similar to the taste of fish that used to be ‘popular’ , like rockfish and flatfish.

First of all, Cheol-ho cut off the head of the fish. He removed the intestines and rinsed them neatly in water. The leftover parts were very good for boiling spicy soup.
He then made a large cut on the tail, pushing the knife into the stomach and cutting it skillfully.

The large backbone that supported  the body of the fish came out. Two slices of fish came out around the bone.
To tell the truth, Cheol-ho in the past didn’t really like sashimi.
Sashimi was a very low-cost food, and it was like a luxury item on a special day.

But after discovering the true taste of sashimi, he felt that there was nothing more delicious than that.

He carefully peeled the skin of the two slices of fish and began to cut it into moderately thick pieces.

The thick side of the fish was good for feeling the texture and taste of white fish. The sliced raw fish was placed on a plate, and the most important part, the belly, was cut well and added.

“Ha!”
