Previously on Her Boss:

Anna and Ben got married and after eight months, Anna delivered a baby boy, Alfred and soon fell into coma for 2 years. When she got out of Coma, Ben was quickly contacted and he rushed to the hospital to meet his wife.

***********

I quickly rushed to her room to see her laying on the bed with her sea blue eyes staring intently at me. "Baby, oh my love, my love" I cried "I missed you so much." I said as I pulled her into a deep embrace but she pushed me away, her face void of any emotions.

"Sorry, who are you?"

*NOW***

BEGINNING OF BOOK 2

Ben's POV...

"Sorry, who are you?"

That's all she said. For one thing I was glad she was out of coma, for another I was completely confused and angry and shocked... and had mixed feelings.

I quickly retracted my hands from her and shot her a puzzled look. "If this is all a joke please stop it Anna, you're scaring me." I said my voice cracking at the end. If I were holding a glass, I would have let it fall down but I was holding my son, our son, Alfred and she was giving me the cold attention. "Anna" I said with a whisper as I tried touching her face one more time but she only swatted my hand away from her and she screamed loudly.

"Leave me alone. Who are you? Where am I? Stay away from me! Help! HELP! SOMEBODY HELP!" she was screaming and yelling and throwing her hands about frantically like an insane person and I quickly held onto Alfred to prevent him from getting hurt due to her violent action.

Not knowing what to do, I just stood there in the middle of the room holding onto my son while staring at her as nurses and doctors come into the room to attend to her.

I was ushered out of the ward and to the waiting room where I was met by a happy Ella, Ms Williams and Jones. "How's she doing?" They all asked in unison.

I handed Alfred over to Ms Williams and sat on the floor looking disarrayed as ever, frustration clouding my feature as I pulled my knee up to my chest and buried my head. It seemed they must have noticed my appearance as their cheers quieted down.

Ella knelt down so she would be at the same level as me. "Why are you looking like you've seen a ghost? For a man whose wife just came out of coma, you're too sad." She said trying to lighten up my mood but I didn't respond. "Ben... Where's she? What happened to her?" She asked sounding worried.

"Ben..." Jones sat beside me.

"She... she..." I couldn't control myself as I burst out crying onto my brother's shoulder. "She... she..."

"It's okay brother. Just let it go." he said as he patted my back. I still can't believe it. It all seemed like a dream.

"She's actually... She...she didn't recognize me. My Anna's gone. I can't deal with this. I can't. She...she... she" my voice was shaking and I was quivering. "She doesn't know me brother, she... she asked who I was" I was crying really hard and I didn't care that people were staring at me with pity in their eyes. I just don't care about anything, anymore. "My Anna doesn't know me. My life is useless."

"Ssh... don't say that Ben, you love her and that's all that matters. If you have faith, she will regain her memory but even if she doesn't, you can always start afresh Ben. She isn't dead and that's one thing we need to be grateful for. She is alive for a reason and you are the only one she needs now, you and little Alfred have to be there for her. Don't lose hope, son. Don't give up on her. You didn't give up on her for the past two years she was in coma, now is not the time to give up okay?" Ms Williams said while comforting me.

I lifted my head up to see Ella standing in the middle of the hallway staring deep into space. I gestured Jones to meet her while Ms Williams comforted me. Soon the door was yanked open to reveal Dr Kelly who signalled me to go with him to his office but I didn't have the strength to even stand up. So he cleared his throat and began explaining to us what was wrong with Anna.

#####

A few hours later...

I refused to leave the hospital. I let Ms Williams take Alfred to the house while I stayed by Anna. I watched her as she slept peacefully. Dr Kelly said she had amnesia and had a 50% possibility of regaining her memory and 50% of not. What will most likely bring back her memory is if she is taken to places she had been to before and she loved or if she is shown pictures of good memories she had before she had amnesia. I for one reason strongly believed she will be able to gain her memory back but when? I don't know. I wish it will be soon though. She had been away for two good years and when she's back, she doesn't remember a single thing. I held her hands tenderly which were now smaller than before. She had a drip attached to her hand which were so pale. She had lost alot of weight over the years and her petite figure were fragile looking which made my heart ache. I brought her hand up to my mouth and kissed it. I coaxed her hair soothingly and stared deep into her face. Her eyes were swollen and had bags underneath even though they were closed. Her nose was still pointed and her perfect pink lips were now chapped and pale. Her skin was looking ever so pale and it hurt alot seeing her in such a condition.

A tear escaped my eye, then two, then three and streams of tears started flowing down my cheeks as I thought about how perfect we were before she fell into coma. She's my everything and I have to be strong for her, for my son – our son.
