CHAPTER 5- BLACK DRAGON TOTEM

At this moment everyone was focusing on him.

The Origin God Pillar in front of him was covered in old carvings and patterns, like that of a pillar holding up the Heavens as it stuck into the clouds!

Looking out, there were numerous gazes focused on the weak body of the kid.

Most of the teens had a pitiful look in their eyes as they looked on. That might have been due to them seeing shades of themselves in him.

Of course they were jealous about his identity. When he was unable to get even the most basic Life Totem their eyes were filled with mocking intent.

Looking back around, his mother gave him a strong support through the gentle smile.

There was also Lu Dingxing and Ruo Xiaoyue who cheered for him without any care of the looks of the people around.

“If something happens today in the future I will live for them.”

Father, mother, brothers and sisters.

He even treated Su Qianqiu and Lu Dingxing as his brothers.

Su Qianyu not being here made him feel slightly regretful.

Maybe he also didn’t want to see his seventh failure.

Jiang Zizai tossed aside all random thoughts and focused on the Origin God Pillar ahead of him. The God item which would change his destiny.

“Heavens, Ancient God, are they true or fake?”

Those were all rumors.

They said that as long as one was sincere one would be able to get the Life Totem.

However was Jiang Junxin sincere? No, he didn’t care at all.

Normal teens even fasted before the God Worshipping Day and kowtowed for seven days in front of the pillar but they still failed.

How could the Heavens be so unfair.

“Jiang Zizai stop wasting time. The sun is about to set.” The person in charge chased him as he was in a daze.

The people all couldn’t wait.

One could even hear the laughs from Jiang Junduo and Jiang Junxin.

“Little Prince, go up, don’t be afraid, it also isn’t your first time.”

Those words gave rise to a huge bunch of laughter.

If it was in the past, even if he failed today they wouldn’t dare make a sound.

Those weird looks and ear piercing laughter pulled him into a dark spiral.

Suddenly!

He recalled Jiang Yunting from yesterday.

He recalled the black dragon, the black flower petal and the Heaven and Earth tearing apart!

In his heart he actually felt cold and furious.

He forgot everything, reaching out and touching the Origin God Pillar!

Hong!

When his hand touched the icy cold Origin God Pillar, heaven and earth spun around him.

“Oh?” Everyone’s eyes were opened wide.

The mocking smiles on their faces suddenly froze.

That was because something that hadn’t happened in thousands of years actually happened!

The Origin God Pillar which seemed like it was made from stone actually turned pitch black from up to down at a swift speed.

It wasn’t light shining on it but the stone itself becoming pitch black!

Like there was a giant black beast which suddenly swallowed the pillar.

All of a sudden the black dark shadow covered the Origin God Altar.

Even Jiang Zizai’s flesh and blood turned black.

Jiang Zizai was unable to see the changes to the pillar. What he looked at was a scene that he would never forget for the rest of his life.

He was suddenly standing amongst endless amounts of stars.

Around him existed many balls which were surrounded by light.

Each ball was extremely huge but he noticed that he could see that the surface of the ball had oceans and land in it.

He could even see source beasts and humans.

It was like there were unlimited amounts of worlds stacked up all around.

Just at this moment a dragon roar sounded out in the area. He turned around his head in shock and saw a snow white God Dragon which looked like it was made of jade smashing about in the stars.

Where it passed, the oceans, land, people, source beasts all turned to dust!

That white dragon’s eyes were dyed red, it looked really fierce like it was the god that was going to wipe out the world.

It seemed like all the land and oceans were about to be destroyed!

While Jiang Zizai was feeling shocked there was a change. Suddenly a pitch black flower petal actually appeared above the head of the white dragon.

That flower petal was bigger than a continent.

Jiang Zizai naturally remembered that this petal was the one in the mouth of the blood dragon in his dream.

When the black flower petal appeared it suddenly gave out a pitch black glow which covered up the white dragon.

At this moment the white dragon gave out a dragon roar, within the constraints of the light, it knocked its head such that it started to bleed.

Following which the black light drilled into the body of the white dragon, causing the white dragon to turn black like ink, becoming a Black God Dragon!

After turning black the dragon completely changed. It coiled up and didn’t move, the black petal landing in front of it and allowed it to hold it in its mouth.

This scene was really sinister and terrifying.

The entire world was totally silent.

Suddenly he felt like he was hit by lightning. That was because he felt that the black dragon saw him, even giving out a weird smile.

That scene seemed to be carved on his heart, unable to wipe away.

He was totally confused. However at this moment everything in front of him collapsed and instantly merged together, turning into an Origin God Pillar which stuck into the clouds.

At this time the black color on the pillar disappeared.

He only felt his brow had a stabbing pain, like a beast had drilled within and was bitting at his brain.

His mind was at a mess. He didn’t know what had happened at all.

When he tried his best to open his eyes and look around, he noticed that everyone had their eyes opened wide and mouths agape.

“They saw the scenes just now?”

Such a vast scene exceeded that of a dream, making him forget all about even the Life Totem matter.

However he noticed that the people were all looking at his brow.

Only then did he come back to his senses, his heart was filled with great joy.

“Did I succeed?”

His hands trembled as he took out a copper mirror and shone on his face.

He saw it!

At his brow was a black god dragon which coiled up to a near full circle. At the center was a black petal.

Before he had a close look this mark hid itself.

However Jiang Zizai clearly noticed that he had transformed.

He felt the activating of the Shenting Acupoint, he felt that Martial Path True Qi Seed. Even if it was weak but it told him that he had succeeded.

With this seed he would be able to step on his path of being a Totem Martial Master!

The power of the totem opened his Shenting Acupoint and planted the true qi seed.

It was tough for him to keep calm.

“If those scenes are true it means that my totem isn’t simple. However what grade is it? Xuan Grade?”

That was his intuition.

A black dragon wrapped around a black petal.

He temporarily couldn’t call out the totem mark as that needed enough true qi.

“Was the dream last night connected to this totem… But how can father have anything to do with this totem?”

They were totally different existences. His father wasn’t the ancient god!”

So many mysteries exploded out making him feel really chaotic. He felt that he needed some time to digest it all.

Suddenly someone hugged him. That familiar hug was warm and noble.

She couldn’t hug him up like when they were young but those slim arms let Jiang Zizai feel her love for him.

“Mom…”

He raised his head and saw the tears in her eyes.

“Did I succeed?” Until this moment he was still suspicious.

If he did then it meant that they wouldn’t need to break their relationship of mother and son on the surface.

They were obviously mother and son so why did they have to break! Even if it was on the surface it was still not possible.

“Um.”

She nodded but that was already enough to Jiang Zizai.

Moreover it was just this, there were so many changes which made him believe that his Life Totem hid a deep secret. It was definitely not weak!

He could finally put in effort for his future.

He looked towards the Origin God Pillar with utmost sincerity. His father had told him before that no matter who it was, if they gave you help when you were down, you needed to remember it in your heart.

Moreover he was given something that could turn his destiny around!

“Brother!” Ruo Xiaoyue also came, she tugged at Jiang Zizai’s arm. Although she was smiling but her eyes were still red.

“Brother!” Lu Dingxing didn’t know what to do with his arms. He didn’t dare to just hug him right away so he just gave him the thumbs up.

These were all family.

Only them craved a Life Totem as much as him.

He looked at the high platform. There were three out of the four Manor Heads who had an ugly expression.

Jiang Liu was especially dark, he whispered to Jiang Shang, “Brother Shang it seems like our plan has to be delayed.”

Jiang Shang nodded his head, “No one expected such a situation.”

Originally as long as Jiang Zizai failed today he would be directly kicked out of the Qilin King Race. Once Jiang Junjian was beheaded then Purple Qilin Manor would have no more heir.

Now with Jiang Zizai here, even if he had a trash totem he would be able to keep his identity and that would cause problems for them.

At least they would be unable to do some things that they had planned.

Jiang Liu laughed coldly, “Although there are some weird changes but one can see that it didn’t even have an awakened step so its probably a weak totem.”

Jiang Shang nodded his head, “He is already fifteen. Very few totems gotten now are good.”

The so called “Awakened” step referred to the totem shaking and turning into a giant image when it entered the body.

For example the roaring Flame Tiger Totem as well as the Golden Mane Qilin from before. Like that people would be able to deduce what kind of totem it was.

Without the awakened step the totem would most probably be unclassified.

Which was why the announcer hesitated for a long time before saying, “Jiang Zizai, not awakened. The totem seemed like a black snake, unclassified.”

Even some unclassified totems could be awakened. There were simply too little totems that weren’t awakened.

“Black snake?”

When these two words spread out, the faces of many people became weird.

Some couldn’t help but laugh out.

“I was wondering why the Origin God Totem turned back for a moment. So it was because such an unclassified totem?”

“Black snake totem? But the Purple Qilin King has the Nine Tribulation Heaven Qilin Totem, one of the eight Super totems. It was said that Queen Ruohua’s totem exceeded Heaven Grade, it is the Emperor Peony Totem, a really rare plant totem.”

“Keep quiet, don’t sprout nonsense.”

Someone stopped the people who spoke.

There were some words that couldn’t be randomly said.

Normally speaking totems were able to be passed down. For example Qilin King Race Martial Masters often inherited the Qilin Totems.

They either inherited from both sides or inherited from one.

If they didn’t inherit either and was far different then there was only two possibilities.

It is either the totem mutated which was rare. A most of them didn’t have much changes. For example one side had an Ape Totem and the kid awakened a Monkey Totem.

The second situation was that the mother cheated.

In truth the second scenario was more common than the first.

However it was the Purple Qilin King so no one dared to sprout nonsense.

Within the silence an unharmonious voice spread out.

“This is weird, it isn’t a match with his parents. It also can’t be a mutated black snake. Is there a story that cannot be described, hehe…”

The moment those words were said it was deathly silent!

There was actually someone who dared to insult the queen. Although he didn’t say it clearly but his words obviously claimed that Jiang Zizai couldn’t be Purple Qilin King’s son.

Everyone locked their eyes on the one who spoke!

That person stood amongst the Qilin King Manor Metal Qilin Manor camp. He was a fat middle aged man with large years. He smiled widely when he said that, thinking that people would laugh along with it. Who knew that after he said that he realised that it was too much.

Jiang Zizai’s gaze was like fire, these words touched his bottom line.

This person was the Jiang Liu’s brother in law, he was called Wang Fu. He married into the Metal Qilin Manor and his sons were Jiang Junxin and Jiang Junduo.

Jiang Zizai knew that some words were big enough of a hurt to his mother, especially these words.

He really wanted to kill this person but his current power didn’t allow him too.

However someone did it!

A huge power pushed Jiang Zizai to the side. Suddenly he saw Ruohua appearing expressionlessly in front of Wang Fu.

Hong!

Ruohua’s Life Totem appeared from her brow. It was a red peony flower which bloomed, causing the color of heaven and earth to change.

At this moment it was like Ruohua had turned into the flower. She opened her palm and pushed, suddenly a giant peony flower mark appeared on his chest. It was dyed red with blood.

“Argh…” Wang Fu’s eyes opened wide as he fell to the ground.

He was actually dead!

Actually Jiang Zizai rarely saw his mother get angry. This was one of the few instances.

Killing Wang Fu caused Jiang Junduo to nearly faint!

Only then did Ruohua turn around and said word by word to everyone around, “Although my husband might have committed a crime and my son is in jail. You can insult me, however if you insult my son… Wang Fu deserved to die because he couldn’t close his mouth!”

She swept around and continued, “I know that now that the Purple Qilin Manor is in trouble despicable people want to kick us when we are down. I don’t care about your rumors and nonsense but it is best if I don’t hear it or else this is what will happen!”

Wang Fu’s words were indeed really serious.

It insulted her dignity and that of her children.

Actually Jiang Zizai looked exactly the same as the Purple Qilin King, he was more like his father than Jiang Junjian.

But who could stop those words?

Jiang Zizai stared at everything and took in a dee breath.

He felt that he really couldn’t allow this person who he respected and loved most in life be sad and heartbroken anymore.

“Let everything start from this Black Snake Totem!”

Actually Jiang Zizai knew that it wasn’t a black snake.

It was the Black Dragon Totem!
