"My lord, what is wrong?" Ply came running in when he heard a loud crash in the room. His foot happened to step on the thrown tablet.

Ply picked up the tablet and happened to read what Mika wrote.

Dear Daddy,

Uncle Kendel won't let me sleep!

Love, Mika.

Aha! It's understandable for my lord to yell.

"Here." Ply passed the table back into Kendel's hands, but the minute he reread what Mika wrote, the tablet went flying across the room again.

"Stinking brat!" Kendel closed his eyes, trying to calm down his anger before he tears that girl apart.

"Lord Kendel, maybe you should write the comm?" Ply thought, Kendel dealing with Miss Mikaela will inevitably cause him to have a stroke.

"How will it look if I sent a comm asking for payment before returning his daughter. He'll think I kidnapped her!" Kendel seems to forget that was his intention from the start, and that is what he eventually did.

Ply knew he couldn't point out this fact to his lord, as he was already mad, preferably let him come to the truth himself. He taken care of Kendel since that time he was a fledgling, he knew how to handle Kendel's wrath and thoughtlessness.

After a moment had passed, Kendel realized what he had said.

This girl is getting to me. Do I now actually consider myself her uncle!?

Throwing that thought to the back of his head, Kendel looked at Ply hoping he has some way to get the comm he wanted from Mika.

"We must think of something! She is a bag of money we can't open, and we need to open it Ply. The Vlacca clan needs money!" Kendel banged his hands on his desk.

Thinking about the wasted effort he and his men put in at the Udava, to only come back with just useless documents. There wasn't a deed insight in that whole pile of paperwork Vanya took from Lord Tasar's desk!

And just when he thought all was lost, he by chance happened to pick up a lost wallet. Unfortunately, he can't open it!

___

"Ah! I wished I could've stayed to see his face!" Mika laughed as skipped among a pathway leading to a garden.

Mika happened to like the Vlacca gardens, though they weren't as fancy and grand as the Amara, they were like natural fields that you find when lost in the forest.

The wind would blow tussling her hair and bring the fresh scent of the flowers around her. Honestly, the Vlacca clan's gardens were like an oasis in the middle of barren land.

Wandering further, Mika was soon met with a wall. Thinking she might have taken a wrong turn somewhere, as she remembered from her map that the garden should go on for quite something more.

Walking along the walk, Mika could see that this wall had been here for a long time. Moss and vines started to grow on it, and it was sorely in need of repairs.

Assuming it might be an old courtyard of the Vlacca clan, Mika started to look for the entrance. Yet, no matter how long she walked for she couldn't find it.

"What is this?" Mika stopped, her legs were tired. She had been walking for a good hour now; the sun was setting, and it would be dark soon.

Mika had no other choice but to turn back and try again tomorrow.

It took two hours for Mika to leave the garden and get back to her room. When she laid down on the plain bed, she really did have the desire to sleep, but thoughts of that garden stimulated her curiosity.

Closing her eyes, Mika entered her mind space.

"Drako...Drak... Drakonas."

"Good girl, you are learning," Drako revealed himself and rubbed his hand on Mika's head.

"I am not your pet!" Mika shooed his little body away from her head.

"What seems to be the problem this time?" Drako chuckled as Mika threw him a tart look.

"I found a wall.."

"A wall...?"

"A wall."

"...."

*sigh*

"Mikaela, you know I'm here to help guide you on Analise's inheritance, not to be your go-to person for every uninteresting thing you find." Drako could believe, Mika called him out to tell him about a wall.

"....you didn't let me finish."

"Okay...you found a wall, and what else?"

".....nothing else, just the wall...."

"....."

"...."

Drako flowed over a touched Mika's forehead.

"Nope, we can't blame your stupidity on a high fever."

"Drako!....just listen to me, okay?"

"Fine."

"Remember I was taken..."

"Yes."

"Well, I somehow ended up in the Vlacca clan."

"Okay."

"Today, I went walking in one of their gardens and came across and wall...but this wall is old, older than the rest of the estate."

"So?"

"So..." Mika pulled out the partial map she made of the Vlacca clan. "...the wall runs right through what you would think is still the Vlacca clan's estate."

Looking at the makeshift map, and where Mika says the wall is; Drako had an inkling of where Mika might be...

"Did you see what was on the other side?" Mika noticed the small change in Drako's demeanor.

"No. Why? Do you know what the wall is?"

"I'm not 100% certain, but it's possible you might have found the edge of Ash city."

"Ash City..." Mika recalled her mother's words as she retold their family's history.

"Why would the Vlacca clan build their estate right next to that city?"

"I don't know, but maybe you can get information from the spirits in that area. They might be able to give you the answers you seek..."

"The spirits? Are they still alive here?" Mika had thought that they all died after the war.

"The majority are dead, but some maybe still alive....though you may have to look for a long time." Drako's sadden expression reminded Mika of the problem she was tasked with from her great-great-grandparents.

"Okay....I'll try tomorrow."
