The next day Mika woke herself up early to get a good start at the wall. Unfortunately for her, someone was waiting outside.

Kendel stood outside Mika's door, half asleep as he waited for Mika to wake up. Having dragged himself from his bed two hours earlier, Kendel couldn't wait to have the little demon write her letter so he can get rid of her.

"Uncle?" Mika looked at the shivering man standing before with curiosity.

"Little niece, you're up!" Kendel threw off the blanket he had wrapped around himself and walked to stand in front of Mika.

"En. Does uncle need me for something?" Mika could take a guess as to why Lord Kendel would stand in the cold of night to wait for her to wake up.

"Niece doesn't remember she has to write a letter to her father? It's best we get it out of the way now." Kendel turned to Ply and took the tablet from his hands.

"Oh, right! Mika remembers now."

"Here." Kendel placed the tablet in Mika's stretch out hands.

"You remember what you need to write, right? If you don't, I can tell you. After all, we want to get you home safe and sound." Kendel didn't want a repeat of what happened yesterday.

"Mika knows, Mika knows...Uncle can relax." Mika reassured Kendel before she started writing out her letter to her father.

Once finish, Mika handed the table back into Kendel's hands.

"Stay right here." Kendel stopped Mika in her tracks when he saw she was leaving.

If she was going to pull a repeat of what she did yesterday, he was going to make her stand here all day and rewrite this letter over and over again until he is satisfied.

Closing his eyes and taking a deep calming breath, Kendel prepared himself to look at the letter.

Lifting up the tablet, Kendel looked at the screen and read what Mika wrote.

Dear Daddy,

I'm with uncle Kendel. He happened to be at Lord Tasar's clan when a freak fire started at my house. Though he has never seen me before, he was able to know who I was and take me away to his clan. But he left Saavi and Kaze behind. He has taken care of me by feed and let me sleep, however, his clan is broke, and they need money. He wants me to ask you if you can send him a bit of your money. In return, he'll see that I'll get back to you safely.

Love, Mikaela.

Kendel looked up from the tablet to stare at Mika's angelic face.

'What kind of demon have I let in?'

This letter was a blatant cry for help! If he were to send this letter she has written, Lord Mano would send the whole Amara clan after him.

"Mikaela..."

"Mmm?"

"Rewrite the letter."

"No."

"...."

"....?"

"...please..." Kendel was almost begging.

"....no."

"But you said you would help uncle...and this letter does not help uncle at all."

"But uncle I'm tired..."

"You just woke up!" Kendel wanted to wring this little girl's neck.

"No, no, no...uncle didn't let me finish. My hand is tired. Look it won't even hold itself up." Mika raised her right hand with her left and flapped it in front of Kendel's face.

"It doesn't want to write anymore for today, maybe we should try tomorrow?"

Kendel watched as Mika flapped her little hand in front of his face and knew only one of them was going to leave his clan alive.

Swatting her small hand away from his face, Kendel looked Mika in the eyes, "Now look here you little bra-"

"Lord Kendel!" Ply stopped him before Kendel could say anything more.

"What!?" Kendel turned towards his steward, angry at being interrupted.

Pulling Lord Kendel to the side, Ply tried to reason with him.

"My lord, I don't think it will benefit you to handle Miss Mikaela so sternly. It's best we continue to placate he-"

"No! It's because her parents have spoiled her, that I have to deal with this demon child now."

"Lord Kendel, you just don't understand fledglings-"

"And you do?"

Mika made her getaway while the two grown men discuss their child-rearing skills.

Deep into the garden, Mika walked as she let her gifts flow into her voice and sang the song of the spirits. Waking up the dormant Sprites, Sylphs, and Nymphs in the trees.

She sat on a rock and waited until a little pale green female sylph drifted towards her.

"Are you the one that called me?" Her voice was soft and mellow with a tint of fatigued mixed in.

"Yes...My name is Mikaela Amara, I am Analise's great great granddaughter. Might I ask who you are?"

"Analise's descendant! You finally come. I am Yumsa. I am the leader of the Steppe spirits." The female sylph gave Mika a deep bow.

"Yumsa, can you tell me about the wall?" Mika held out her hand for Yumsa to sit on. She could see that flying was tiring her out.

Mentioning the wall made the glow around Yumsa's body dim substantially. She looked into Mika's face with pain in her eyes.

"The wall is the barrier of Pharsas City."

"Pharsas City?"

"En. That was the name of the city before Analise burnt it to the ground, turning it into Ash city." Yumsa seemed to be lost in her memories of the past.

"Do you know where the entrance is?"

"You want to go inside? But everything was destroyed..."

"I'm hoping I can find some answers for contamination of the honey trees. Since this is where it started, most of the clues must be here ."

"...okay, I take you in." Yumsa understood and proceeded to Mika the way in.

"These bastards!" Braeden kept swinging his battle axes at the enemy soldiers, but they had sneaky ways about them that cause his men trouble every step of the way during this war.

When he and Ailwin left for the villages, they were too late. The small clans had already incited the villagers to rebel with them wreaking havoc to the more wealthier and prominent clans in the area.

Their soldiers were able to assist some of the larger clans to defend against them, but not all. Resulting in mass deaths on both sides.

Ailwin was left with no other choice but to sent out comms to warn other clans headed of time, hoping they had enough time to secure their defenses and get their families to safety.

Over time, Ailwin tried to make continuous talks for peace, but the small clan leaders didn't want to listen and kept instigating the villagers to fight. Ailwin was left with no other choice but to kill the rebellion.

When the small clan leaders realized Ailwin was no inexperienced general and set his soldiers to kill their clansmen. They escaped into the Steppes.

Slitting his army in half, Ailwin chased after one group while Braeden went after the other.

Unfortunately for Braeden, his side fled to Ash City.
