"You...!" Kendel's eyes were shooting daggers at Mika.

"Who me?..." Mika pointed at herself.

"Yes, you!"

"Couldn't be..."

"Then, who!?..... Who would do this to me other than you...!" Kendel motion to the other people in the room, and could come up think of anyone else who would frame him this way other than Mika.

"What did I do to you, uncle?"

"You-you-you....told!"

"Told what?.... That you took me from Lord Tasar, that you wanted me to write a letter to my father asking for money, that you wouldn't let me go home nor bring me back to the Udava clan...Is this what uncle Kendel is talking about?...I'm sorry, but uncle Kendel never said it was supposed to be a secret." Mika smiled at Kendel's stunned face.

The niece he once thought of as slow and spoiled was now staring at him with contempt in her eyes.

Terrified by the turn of events, Kendel tried to make a last-ditch effort to plead for mercy from Prince Ailwin.

"Whatever she told you, it isn't true! P-P-Prince Ailwin, I am an honorable man, there would be no reason for me to kidnap my niece for money-"

"Sir!"

Just as Kendel was making a case for himself, a group of soldiers came in holding the stolen goods he and his men took from the bordering clans.

"What is this?" Ailwin left his seat to inspect the items in his soldiers' hands.

"Sir, while searching for premises for hiding guards and servants, we came across a warehouse full of these items. They appear to be stolen goods from the bordering clans."

Ailwin and Braeden examined the items in the soldiers' hands and verified what the soldiers said. These are items from those prominent clans that got raided at the border.

The temperature in the room suddenly dropped a few degrees. Everyone in the room could tell that this frosty atmosphere was emanating from Ailwin.

"Braeden, go and question the guards and soldiers of the Vlacca clan; I want to know every person who took part in the plundering of those clans."

"Yes, sir." Braeden took a group of men with him and left the room.

"Lord Kendel..."

"I bought them!.... How was I supposed to know they are stolen goods!" Kendel shouted, cursing his luck ten times over.

"Lord Kendel...

"No, she set me up!....you can't do this I am the leader of the Vlacca clan!" Kendel began to struggle within the soldier restrains.

"Lord Kendel..." Ailwin steadily walked towards the struggling Kendel.

"I hereby sentence you to death. Your clan will be dismantled, and the Vlacca name shall never be used again."

When Kendel realized Aliwin was sentencing him to death, all sense of reasoning left his mind.

"You f****er! You think you are in charge of me! This is my clan! I make the rules here!..." Kendel continued on with his foul shouts and struggles until Ailwin stood in front of him.

"What!? You fight! If these guys weren't holding me back..."

"Fine. Let's fight." Ailwin did an about-face and left the room, shocking not only Kendel and his men but also Mika.

Mika wanted to scream out her frustrations, as she watched the soldiers drag Lord Kendel outside.

This was not part of the plan! We were supposed to make Lord Kendel snitch on Lady Delju. If he kills him, who can I say Lady Delju colluded with to kidnap me! Mika exclaimed in her head.

"Young miss this is great! Prince Ailwin will definitely make Lord Kendel pay..." Saavi bounced with joy at seeing Lord Kendel drag outside.

"He can't die yet..."

"What!? Why?" Saavi turned to ask Mika, but she was already out the door.

Ailwin stood outside, waiting for the soldiers to bring Lord Kendel to him.

Thinking on his duties at the border for these several months, made the anger in him rise again. He and the Shadow Wolves have been doing all they can to solve the problems there, and here is a clan leader taking advantage of other sufferings.

"Ailwin..." He looked away from Kendel being bought out and looked to the person who called his name.

Seeing Mika walk over, he could probably guess what she wanted, but it wasn't going to be possible to comply with her wishes.

"Ailwin, don't kill him."

"He needs to die."

"Yes, I know, but not now."

"Yes, now."

"Ailwin...you promised me."

"Mikaela! Do you have any idea what my men and I have seen over at the border? Starvation, disease, and killings! Hundreds have died, while he's taking his men over to reap benefits off of their suffering. No! He needs to die today!"

"I understand....but is killing him today, right now, going to bring any of those people back? Is it going to stop starvation and the diseases!? All I'm asking is for you to give me what you promised me..."

Ailwin and Mika stood staring into each other's eyes, one pleading the other wavering.

By this time everyone had made there way outside and was waiting for Ailwin to start.

*sigh*

Reining in his temper, Ailwin thought about what Mika was asking of him and knew she had a point.

"Fine, but I can't allow my men to see me back down. I am their Commander after all."

"Then just beat him up to within an inch of his life is left. That way, I can get what I need, and you can still have your men respect."

Having come to an agreement, Ailwin had his men release Kendel.

"I'll give you three chances to strike me before I start my attacks, use them wisely," Ailwin warned before going to meet Kendel in the middle of the circle made up of the Shadow Wolves and Mika's people.

"Hmph...you'll regret it."

Kendel was confident he was able to get what he wanted, though he took a chance by challenging Prince Ailwin, it paid off. He was outside and free from the soldiers restains.

All I need to do now is get my hands on that little niece of mine and use her as a hostage to make my escape! Kendel thought as he positioned himself close to where Mika is standing.

"Start." Ailwin waited for Kendel first strike.
