"Oops...I meant this one." Mika switched to holding up her ring finger before turning to return to the celebration.

Ailwin stood in the clearing, pondering what sticking up one's middle finger meant?...

Thinking about the words Mikaela spoke, Ailwin felt a pang of genuine guilt. However, he couldn't deny that if given another chance, he would still have someone follow her.

*Sigh*

"I'm not even married to her yet, and I'm already on my way to being a henpecked husband."

Mika walked out of the inner garden lost in thought. The words Ailwin said to her, were eye-openers. Since dealing with Lord Kendel and coming back to the Udava Clan, she has obtained a basic understanding of her limitations.

*Sigh*

"I believe hiding away inside the Amara clan for all these years has stunted my growth...." Mika looked down at her hands, clenching them in frustration.

How could she not have sensed someone was following her the whole time? Why did she drop her guard around Ailwin after arriving at the Udava clan?

All these thoughts and question circled in her mind.

Her mother always taught her to be cautious around everyone, even her family.

Unlike most young misses her age, Mika hasn't interacted much with people outside of her family and the Udava clan. Even the people she counts as her friends are servants, tied to her by vows and gratitude.

In her past life, she didn't have friends, so she doesn't know how to go about it.

In this life, due to her maternal family, her mother has always been wary of others interacting with her.

With the origins of their family, it's no wonder why she would be, but if she is the complete the task her mother has left for her she needs people who will be loyal to her without blood vows.

Saavi is her best friend, but would she stay her close friend if she obtains her freedom. If she is no longer her maid?

And Kaze, Kaze is loyal to the Amara clan but without the blood vow would he be faithful to her?

The negative thought clouded her mind, as the seed of doubt took root.

Shaking her head, Mika berated herself.

"Mika now is not the time to get into this. Later....this can wait until later..."

Back at the edge of the celebration, Mika watched Saavi eating and laughing with everyone, enjoying the happy atmosphere.

"Yes, later..."

Mika threw the negative thoughts out of her mind and sat back down next to Saavi.

Lord Tasar watched as his clan members enjoy themselves to the fullest. Since the battle and the betrayal of Lady Vanya, there has been a fog of depression over the Udava clan.

He didn't know how to lift it, then Mano comes and gives him the perfect opportunity to their despair.

There is just one last thing he needs to do to completely erase this gloom.

Spotting the person he was looking for, Lord Tasar left his table and to join Jonas' table.

"Jonas, can we speak...?"

Jonas didn't think his uncle would try to find him tonight. He was actually thinking of finding him bright and early tomorrow morning to seek an audience with him.

"Yes, of course, uncle." Getting up Jonas left the table with Lord Tasar leading the way.

In a secluded corner, Tasar and Jonas walked for a while before Tasar finally spoke.

"Jonas...as you know Lixiss dead in the fire and now Lord Kendel and the Vlacca clan have both been eliminated. I don't doubt for a minute that you didn't have something to do with this, and I don't blame you if you did..." Tasar looked at the last piece of his sister that is left in this world.

"I did. I killed Lord Kendel with my own hands..." Jonas looked his uncle straight in the eyes as he admitted murdering a standing Lord of a clan.

"Jonas..." Pulling him into his embrace, Tasar hugged Jonas close.

He has many regrets in his life, but this one will probably stay with him for the rest of his life. He was too late to save his sister, and now it seems he's too late to protect his nephew.

"Uncle...you don't have to worry. I'm not a fledgling anymore...I have settled my family blood debt." Though Lord Tasar knew what Jonas said is accurate, but he couldn't help feeling incapable as an uncle.

"I know...I just...*sigh* I'm sorry you couldn't depend on me..."

Pulling back from Tasar, Jonas raised his face so his uncle can see his face.

"Uncle...this was something I had to do...."

"Yeah...Well, now that everything has been settled we can start anew." Patting Jonas on the back, Tasar abandoned his pointless thoughts.

Omylia, it seems little Jonas has grown up a bit...

"A new start...yes, I guess I could consider it as such..." Muttering, Jonas turned to see Mika walked back to her table.

"Uncle..."

"Hmm?"

"I need to leave."

"What....?!" Tasar is puzzled by what Jonas means by leaving.

Taking his eyes off of the petite body sitting next to Saavi, Jonas turned to face his uncle again.

"Uncle, you said it yourself...we need a new start after everything..."

"Yes, but what does that have to do with you leaving?"

"I don't think I'll be able to move on if I stay here..."

"You don't like it here? or is it someone else who has made you uncomfortable-"

"Uncle Tasar, it's none of that!"

"Then...?"

Taking a deep breath, Jonas thought about the best reason to tell his uncle why he needs to leave with Mika.

"I think if I stay here, I won't be able to leave the past behind... I want to go with Lord Mano and Mikaela to Kaia."

"...Kaia..." Tasar looked at his nephew then looked away. This was going to be a tough choice for him; He has limited power in Kaia, there he is just a wealthy merchant.

He will have to ask Mano to return the favor from taking in Mikaela.

"Okay, let me ask Lord Mano if he will be willing to take you in...However, what will you be doing there when you get there?"

Having planned this part ahead of time with Mika, Jonas told Tasar everything Mika told him to say.

"The Kaia Kingdom has some of the best schoolings on Inay, so I want to study while I'm there."

Tasar nodded his head, this will make it easier to convince Lord Mano.

"Okay...let me talk to Lord Mano." Patting Jonas' shoulders once more before walking back to his drunk friend.

*Sigh*

He wanted to discuss Lady Vanya's punishment with Jonas, however seeing as he wanted to move on from everything, it will be best if he just handles her himself after everyone leaves.
