Thomas had never taken his eyes off of Lila since they placed her inside the sleeper cell. In all his years in the military this will be his first time killing an innocent. To save the sanity of the crew and himself he will sacrifice this young lady. He will not regret, but he will not be fooled twice.

Secretary Jun watched the General sentence Lila to her death. He has worked for the General for twenty years now. To him no matter how high the position the General is in, he will always be the General to him.

He knew what this decision has done to him. The General had saved him at a young age. Taken him under his wing gave him a life worth living. Now to see others using his hands for their own reasons. Secretary Jun vowed to repaid this debt.

Secretary Jun watched Kara and Pace enjoy the scene before them. He blamed himself for not protecting the General properly.

Thomas's and Lila's eyes met during the last minutes before he pressed the button. The rage, helplessness, and disappointment in her eyes could clearly be seen. He felt the same way he felt the first time he killed someone in that moment.

He thought these kind of feelings were behind him. After being in the military for so long; conditioned by killing for years now, and still these emotions can still be triggered.

"To all of you here today let this be a lesson."

Keeping up with the appearances. Thomas quickly pushed the button. Killing his first innocent.

________

Kara held her breath, she really didn't think they would be able to get the Commander to eject Lila. Kara felt power course through her body. A vicious smile grace her face unknowingly. Kara eyes peeked towards Pace and she found a similar smile on his face. They were truly the same type of people.

Grasping her hand, Pace gave her a reassuring squeeze before turning around to see Lila get ejected out into space.

_______

The crew stood on the dock in frozen astonishment.

When they were delighted at her confinement. Or the rumors that were spun, true or not, they didn't care as long as they could partake in some excitement. Now seeing and hearing a young woman being ejected out to space. They started to question themselves.

The Commander used this time to regain his control of the crew. Time was of the essence right now.

"I want every single one of you to remember you took part in this. Remember this the next you find pleasure in beating someone down. Torturing them with sleepless nights. You are all people who were selected to give humanity a chance for survival; not destroy it with gossip and ridicule. I have been put in charge of leading you, not only be this crew here today, but all of Country Q. Do not disappoint me again! Dismiss!"

The crew exited the docking station with heads low and heavy hearts.

As everyone was leaving Secretary Jun made his way towards Kara and Pace. Seeing this they placed their masks back on their faces. With Secretary Jun in from of them, they made sure they gave off an air of despair.

"Secretary Jun couldn't the Commander have come up with another way to handle Lila. This....this is too much." Kara cried.

"Yes, even though Lila did her share her awful things. She was still part of Country Q citizens." Pace followed up with his words.

Secretary Jun didn't stop their act. For right now they were the "victims" of this whole incident. If Secretary Jun treated them "unjustly" in front of everyone eyes. All of the General's work and sacrifice will be destroyed.

"Yes,...well we must keep a strict policy on the fleet. Or else order will turn into chaos." Was the only response Secretary Jun gave to them on this topic.

"The Commander will like to see the both of you in his office before we depart. His has something to give you for your contributions."

Secretary Jun spun around before receiving any answer from Kara or Pace. Though they didn't think much for his rude departure, they were too caught up in their elated emotions to care.

_______

The Commander had already made it to his room by the time Secretary Jun came back from his tasks.

"Is it done?"

"Yes, sir. I let them know they should be here shortly."

"Good. You two stand outside. Notify me of their arrival."

The two soldiers station inside the Commander's office walked out to stand on either side to the door.

Soon two knocks could be heard of the door. Asking for permission to enter, the soldier allowed Kara and Pace to enter, before closing the door right behind them. Kara and Pace stood next to each other in the middle of the room.

The Commander didn't move from his position to recognize their presence.

In the beginning Kara and Pace were feeling on top of the world but as time pass with the Commander just standing there not moving, the atmosphere turned grave.

Both can be seen glancing at each other time and again. "Aren't we here to receive awards for our work?" The question was easily identifiable on their faces.

Finally after an hour of standing in the same spot. The Commander walked to the wall behind his desk.

The wall was specially designed by him. There were things that the government kept hidden from the public. And one of those things was kept in the hidden compartment of this wall.

Sitting down the Commander put two bottles of greenish liquid on the table.

"How are you feeling after seeing your friend die?"
