Shoving the candy into his hands, Mika encourage him to eat it.

"Go on, eat it. It won't kill you to smell minty."

Vulas dropped the candy into his mouth.

"Now, what do you-"

"Wait a couple of seconds, let the candy coat your mouth."

Staring at each other, they waited as the candy dissolved in his mouth.

Five minutes later Mika walks back towards the counter.

"I want my sword handles to be repaired and the blades as well as need to be re-enforced." Watching her touch her weapons lovingly, Vulas thought he may have judged this girl too soon.

"I can do that, but it will take some time."

"How much time?"

"A month."

"Okay, this is the design I'm looking to get done." Mika handled over the crudely drawn sketch of her old twin swords.

"What is this?" Vulas held up the sketch by its corner before throwing it to the side.

"Hey! What do you think are you doing!?" Mika picks up her sword design off the floor, dusting it off with her hands.

She spent a lot of time and effort drawing this out, how could he just cast it aside like it was trash.

"You can't possibly think that design is good..."

"It's the best I could do..." Mika had always been terrible at art, she was happy that in her past life the schools were all military-based.

"Tsk...let me show you the difference between you and me."

Wanting to get back at her for his earlier humiliation, Vulas pulled out his sketch pad and began to ask Mika series of questions on her swords.

"How long?"

"How wide?"

"The curve should be like this..."

"Was there any special features...okay"

"I can put a little enamel of the sides if you like..."

"And here we are..." Vulas presented Mika's newly designed swords on his sketch pad.

"Wow...these look fantastic!" The drawing was so life-like that she imagined pull them off the page right then and there.

"Of course, I am the Great Vulas, now you understand who you're dealing with."

Mika clapped her hands, showering him with all the praises he was looking for.

"Yes, yes...you are great....amazing....wonderful...." By the time Vulas realize she was patronizing him, he had already soaked up the compliments. Staring at the bored look on this fledgling's face, he couldn't believe someone so young could make him feel some small.

"Are you done?... Yes?.... Then how much for this?" Mika wanted her swords just as he drew them out.

Vulas smiled a pompous smile, once he knew he got her hook. Adding up all the fees, plus some, he presented Mika her bill.

"Here is the amount..."

Mika looked Vulas then wrote down what she wanted to pay and gave it back to him.

Vulas look down at the cross-off total amount he wrote, and the newly written amount she wrote and wanted to flip the counter at her brazenness.

"I don't think you are understanding something, this is the amount you have to pay." Pointing to the grand total he had written.

"No, I don't think you understand something, this is the amount I'm going to pay." Mika pushed the paper back to him, pointing at her amount.

"What makes you think I'm going to take this amount?" Vulas sneered.

"Let's not fool ourselves shall we," Mika looked around the empty store. "You're going to take the amount."

Though she is wealthy in this life, because of the impoverishment of her past life, Mika never spent her money unwisely.

"Why you little!.... Sigh, just because I don't have many customers in my store, doesn't mean my work doesn't deserve this price." Vulas pointed to the original amount he wrote on the bill.

"That's true...but it's because you don't have many customers in your store that you will take this amount." Mika pointed to the amount she wrote on the bill.

Damnit! He has no way to argue against what she says! When did fledglings become so eloquent in their speech!

Taking a look at Mika's expensive clothes, Vulas tried another route in getting her to pay his price.

"Look, I can see you are from a distinguished clan by the way you are dressed. Do you really need to haggle me like this...?"

"You are old... Is there a need for you to overprice items like this?" Mika replied.

"I am not old!... and what would me being old have to do with you getting a discount?"

"Oh! I just thought we were stating the obvious between each other because I didn't understand what me being from a distinguished clan have to do with paying that overpriced fee..."

"....."

With a headache developing right between his eyes. Vulas wondered where his life started to go wrong.
