Shola could now understand why the old her refused to speak of it. It was like a dream, a nightmare but unfortunately it wasn't.
"Are you ok?"
Shola looked into Nathan's eyes but unlike before it couldn't calm her down, his were wrapped around her gently but all she could think of was that man's face, she suddenly pushes him away leaving everyone in the hospital room surprised.
"What is it?" Nathan asked but he already knew what the problem was. He had almost forgot what it felt like to be stared at by his wife when her eyes showed no emotions at all.
"Do you remember everything now?" Nathan distanced himself from her to avoid anymore problems.
"Nope, just something I wanted to forget"
Shola knew how deep a scar that night gave her but after remembering what Joanna told her about herself she wasn't ready to push away the people she loved again. She hated the look on the maids faces when ever they saw her.
She smiled at Nathan assuredly
"But I'm fine now" when she stared at his face she saw that man's face so she quickly looked away, it was scary! but right now she knew that the one thing she hated more than spiders was men!.

"She is fine now but she has to stay for further observation before she can be discharged"
Lilian spoke softly to her cousin as if afraid someone would hear
"Nathan, I'm afraid that poison is stronger than we thought!"
Nathan's brows creased in confusion "I thought you already detoxified the poison?"
"We also thought so but, the first time she passed out was definitely due to this poison and this time also"
Nathan looked at Lilian, a lot of thoughts going through his head....
"What happens if....the poison isn't cured?, what happens to Sholana?"
Lilian's lips curled up slightly "I'm afraid she will not only lose her memory but her sanity too"
Nathan nodded calmly, he collected the prescriptions from Lilian and left her office.
Lilian sighed as he left, her aunt was really getting braver everyday. First it was her husband now it was Nathan's wife!
Lilian looked at the watch on her wrist and absentmindedly murmured to her self "Visiting hours would be over by now"
Mrs. Lana brought a bowl of porridge and put it in front of Shola. She brought a spoon and bottled water placing gently down, Shola stared at her mother with complicated emotions, she had so many things she wanted to apologize for and lots of questions she wanted to ask
"Mom?"
"Yes darling" Mrs. Lana still focused on what she was doing raised her head immediately when she heard her daughter's question
"Where's Dad?" Shola stared at her mothers surprised eyes, she hadn't seen her father ever since this incident and the last time, she asked her mother this question twice before but she always changed the topic
"Darling eat this while its still hot ok?"
Mrs.Lana put the disposable spoon into Shola's hand trying to dodge the question.
Shola knew she was going to do this, she thought of her little brother whom she hadn't seen also and she was suddenly frustrated
"Let me rephrase that!, Where is Henry?"
Mrs.Lana kept quiet, she knew this question was going to to come sooner or later and she thought she was prepared for it but she wasn't
"Mom!, tell me the truth they don't know about any of this right?, why didn't you tell them? and where are they?"
Shola felt angry, she was angry that her mother kept keeping secrets from her and she was fed up!
"Darling, your father and I.... We are no longer together and your brother is in England with your father".
Shola was taken aback, divorced?.
Her parent's marriage was one of the happiest she had ever seen, they did have fights but they never ever thought of getting divorced! not even once.
"How long has it been?"
"4 years"
Shola nodded calmly, she took a deep breath to control her emotions
"So, why didn't you tell them about me?"
"I was scared that your father would tell you everything"
"So.....you lied" Shola smiled a bit knowing it wasn't a big deal anymore, it was to protect her so she decided not to dwell on it anymore but...
"I want to call Henry, I sort of miss him"
Mrs.Lana nodded as she smiled at her daughter, she was no longer as distant as before.
Shola ate in silence but still she was excited, her brother should be twenty-two now, she wondered what he would look like.
Nathan came right after she finished eating, he sent Mrs. Lana home and decided to take care of Shola on his own.
Shola realized that she was no longer as comfortable as she was around Nathan anymore, any time he came closer to her she would shift back keeping the distance between them.
"Mr handsome?" Shola felt bad for avoiding him the whole day, she wasn't able to stay close to him but atheist she could still talk to him.
"Mm?"
Nathan's whole attention was on his laptop but he raised his head to look at her
"How old are you?" Shola said the first words that came to mind and she immediately regretted it
'control your mouth!'
"Thirty-two"
"....." (Cough violently)
Shola looked at the man who looked no older than her current age.
"Are you okay?" Nathan gives her glass of water, Shola nods her head but she herself wasn't sure if she was okay.
"Just forget I asked that"
Nathan smiled and nodded at her, Shola took a deep breath and thought of something else "Mr Handsome do you have siblings?"
Nathan looked at her not knowing what to say, 'I have but they all hate you?'
