Shola choked on her own saliva and started coughing violently.

Shola stared at the sky blushing not knowing what to say, she saw Nathan laughing happily like he just won the lottery
"You....." Shola didn't know if she was angry or not, the words he just said made her heart skip a beat but in the end he was just teasing her!
"You don't have to really answer you know?, I'm just joking" Nathan said trying to control his laughter....but he couldn't, the look on her face was just priceless.
He was serious about the question but now he just couldn't help it. She was so damn cute when she pouted.
"Stop laughing, its not funny!" Shola said with a slight smile on her face, to be honest this was the first time she had seen him like this, laughing, not having any worries or thinking too much, he was very carefree when he was relaxed and also sort of a jerk.
"*cough cough* I'm sorry but its just that....."
"Wow! would you look at the time!, we should start heading back....like now!"
Shola knew he was going to continue teasing her so she interrupted him before he could finish his words.
"You're right, lets go" Nathan stood up fixing his clothes, Shola was right about the park making him feel relaxed, he hadn't laughed so happily for such a long time
"Ouch!" Nathan heard Shola's cry from behind him and turned around, she was on the floor holding her right ankle
"What happened?"
"I tripped, it really hurts" Shola said as she made an attempt to stand but immediately slumped back down because of the pain.
"Let me carry you"
"No, no need!, I will try to walk" Shola was afraid, she felt that she was getting too close to the man as well, why did he look so much like Jackson Filler right now?, she stared at his hand on her ankle and quickly pushed his hand away
"Its fine!" She said coldly, she didn't know why she had a sudden mood swing but at the moment she was just reminded of that man!
Nathan noticed that he was too close to her and quickly kept his distance, he really missed the time when she asked him to stay next to him without pushing him away.
"I...I'm sorry, I just..." Shola didn't know what excuse she could use
"Sholana, get on my back!" Nathan made up his mind that he wouldn't let her push him away again but he couldn't help but wonder, she was in pain but she still rejected his help, what really started all these?
Nathan didn't leave any room for negotiation as he bent his back slightly and she got on.
His steps were slow and unhurried, while Shola was on his back sweating profusely, his hands were on her legs....
"Shola?"
"Mm?"
"Why do you avoid people when they try to touch you?"
Shola was taken aback by his question, what was she supposed to tell him, that she was raped countless times by some idiot, and she was now traumatized because of it?.... She couldn't tell him any of those things, she felt embarrassed and most importantly she was scared, what if he looked at her differently? or he felt that she was to tainted and dirty to be his wife?, she didn't want to lose him.
She could tell anyone but him!, she was silent throughout the entire walk, she didn't know what to say and was scared she would say something that will make Nathan upset.
Nathan understood that she wasn't ready to speak but he still felt slightly hurt that she didn't trust him enough.
Both people lost in their own thoughts reached the house without even noticing.
Nathan sat Shola down on the couch and went to bring the first aid kit in the kitchen.
He took out the ointment and was about to squeeze some on his palm but soon halted his actions, he looked at Shola with slight disappointment in his eyes, he stared at her face for a few seconds before he finally spoke up
"Here, put on the ointment and and rest your leg afterwards, its just a sprain it should be fine after tomorrow" without and emotions he got up and walked away.
Shola knew Nathan was upset, she didn't know how to apologize because she knew he would just repeat his question again.
After putting on the ointment she felt a bit relieved but still, her heart was feeling heavy
"Why the long face sis in-law?" Weiwei asked as she sat on the couch right next to Shola, when she was coming down the stairs she saw how down her brother's expression was and sort of felt delighted, if he got more upset with her it meant that he was going to start disliking her sooner or later, she didn't even have to lift a finger!
She wouldn't waste the opportunity to make fun of Shola for it.
"Did you and brother have a fight?" Weiwei tried to act clueless as she came closer to Shola and touched her hand.
Shola immediately pulled her hand away and glared at Weiwei
"What do you want now?, I'm really not in the mood of your childish tactics now" Shola spat out coldly, her eyes showing no emotion.
