Shola didn't know why she was afraid of telling him who the man was...she was sure that Nathan was going to do something that won't end well for both of them.
"Is he...." Nathan's words got stuck in his throat, he noticed how terrified her expression was and was sure that he had guessed it right.
He felt his blood boil from anger, he wanted to kill not caring about the consequences!
"N..Nathan, don't do anything rash okay?" Shola felt like her words were falling to deaf ears as she realised his eyes were not on her but the unconscious man on the floor.
She cupped his face and turned it to face hers
"Any decision made in anger is a bad one!, you have to calm down and we should also call the police"
Nathan reluctantly nodded and took one last glance at the man.....but he wasn't there anymore
"Where...where did he go?" Sholana was confused as she stared at the spot where the man had been and her heart trembled in fear
If he escaped it means he could come back again, he could just repeat what happened today if he wanted to, what if.....just what if Nathan wasn't there!
"Sholana, I'll be right back, he couldn't have gone far....." Nathan didn't wait for Shola to reply before he left.
Shola wanted to call him back, she wanted him to stay with her.
Although she had looked calm in front of him, she was really scared.

"I'm sorry madam Lu, I promise next time things won't go wrong" Elizabeth quickly put on her innocent expression and as expecting the Old madam's heart turned to jelly and she held her hands
"My dear, since you're so sure; Call me mother okay?"
Elizabeth had a huge grin on her face as she said the words "Mother, Mother in-law"

Jason and Lilian headed over to the prison the next day, Jason hesitated for a while before he got in, he had tried really hard to suppress his emotion but the three years he had spent here had really taken a toll on him
"So eager to come back to prison eh? " The officer sat the counter said as he shook hands with Jason
"Looking gold my man"
Jason only smiled and told him the person he wanted to visit but the man's expression soon changed
"He's dead?" Lilian asked filled with suspicion, it was definitely not a coincidence that the man had died after concocting such a dangerous poison for the Old Madam!
"How....how did he die?" Jason asked, he too was sure that this was not sheer coincidence!
"Well, its weird actually, his last visitor.
A woman that always covers her face when she visits; she visited as usual and left but there was something different about him since that visit
He was always scared of anything he sees, he couldn't eat because he was so lost in thought.
He would often mutter his wife's name and well finally
Yesterday, he hung him self!"
Jason was was shocked but he knew that the last visitor was definitely the old madam.
He suddenly remembered something and hurriedly asked the officer "Can I see him?"
The officer could understand Jason's feelings,
they were both friends for a very long time.
"No problem, Jelly!. Please take them to Mr Cole"
Jelly nodded and signaled them to follow him.
"Why do you suddenly want to see him?"
Lilian asked
"I've known him for three years and that man won't just let his life go like that!, he always told me that if he ever gave up on this place, he would give me his will"
Jason said with a look of determination on his face, he made a promise to him and he was going to keep it!
When Jason saw Cole, he held back his tears, this was the only friend he had since he had been in here.
He held the guy's palm, it was ice cold but tightly shut.
He forcefully spread the man's fingers, he saw a piece of paper in it, it wasn't big but was filled with tiny words.

Nathan didn't catch a glimpse of the man after he ran outside, he called the police, after giving them a description he went back to the beach house.
The house was neater and there was even food set on the dining table.
He went into their room and noticed that all traces of everything that had happened today was no longer there.
He heard the sound of rushing water from the bathroom and felt relieved.
Shola cleaned the entire house, despite her lack of strength and shaky legs she realized that she needed a distraction.
After she was done with cooking dinner, she stared at the wall clock for a while
Nathan had been outside for hours now
she was starting to get worried.
She got into the shower and washed off all of the day's exhaustion from her body.
When she left the bathroom she saw Nathan sitting on the bed, he looked like he was waiting for her
"When did you get back?"
"A few minutes ago" He said as he started taking off his clothes
"Are going to have a bath?"
"Mm" Nathan replied half heartedly as he left Shola.
Shola wanted to ask him about Jackson but she decided to be silent.
He didn't look too happy and she didn't want to ruin his mood.
After reheating the dinner she called Nathan downstairs.
They both ate silently thinking of what to say to the latter
Shola washed the dishes and cleaned the kitchen, Nathan watched her in silence.
When she raised her sleeves he saw a purple bite mark.
He felt his anger boil again as he walked up to Shola and threw the rag she was holding.
He stared at that spot on her hand for a few seconds before he took off her shirt.
Shola was surprised by his sudden actions but didn't say any thing.
She realized that his gaze was on all the marks on her body
"It's nothing..." She gasped when she felt Nathan's lips on her neck, he was nibbling on her neck getting rid of all the traces of Jackson .
After covering every single trace of that man on his wife's body he soon attacked her lips.
This kiss unlike the others, was rough.
His tongue roamed around her mouth as if trying to wipe it clean.
"Mm" Shola struggled to breath, Nathan's possessiveness took over him and he totally forgot about breathing.
Shola finally managed to push him away panting heavily
"Are you trying to kill me?" Shola asked holding her chest
"Sorry My love, I got carried away" Nathan pulled her into his embrace and stroked her hair
"I won't ever let something like that happen to you again, I promise"
Shola didn't know if it was ber hallucinations or not but she heard guilt and anger in his voice.
His movements were so gentle that she almost fell asleep standing
"Mr Handsome?"
"Hmm?"
"I'm sleepy" She said hugging him tighter before letting go
"Carry me"
"Ok" Nathan carried her in his arms princess-styled, putting her gently on the bed before joining her.
He covered them with a blanket and held Shola's waist from behind.
He didn't know why but he was starting to believe Shola's words, maybe their lives were really cursed for them to go through something like this even when they decided to get away from everything.
"Sholana, I'm sorry"
Shola held his hand and kissed it before asking "What for?"
"I can only love you, I can't protect you like I'm supposed to"
Shola laughed and turned around to look at him, his eyes were filled with hurt and guilt
"You are the best husband in the world Nathan, you are my most favorite person, having you is equivalent to having 10 well trained bodyguards.
Your love is what protects me Mr Handsome, as long as you never stop loving me, I will never get hurt"
Shola kissed him deeply after her words, she wanted to make him forget everything that happened today
she wanted to rid him of all his guilt
