"What a disgrace, not only he didn't have a talent, he even didn't have the bending power." [1]
From a little, those words are a common thing in my ear. It's because of one thing, I didn't have bending power.
In this world, everyone has the power to control mineral or the other non-natural organic, like telekinesis. Bending ability was divided into two types: Primary bending and Normal bending.
Primary bending is based on one compatibility with a material. It commonly showed from the first material the person bend. After that, one control smoothness depends on how big his knowledge and understanding of the material he wants to bend.
Let's say an iron if a person studied thoroughly about what is iron's history, characteristics, chemical bond, origin, etc that person could control it smoother. The other material that commonly controlled is like iron, quartz, brass and etc.
And, of course, there are always Gifted people. Gifted people didn't need the knowledge to bend some material. Moreover, the other thing why they regarded as gifted is they could bend the material that commonly hard to bend, like aluminum.
Above Talented, there's one higher category, it was Special. The person in this category has an ability with high control degree without practicing or studying. The material they could bend more special material like silicon, silver, gold, mercury, etc.
On the other side, sometimes, a person like me born, without bending power, unable to control any material. Normally, there is a serum used to force the bending ability to appear. And, yeah, mostly case kid without power like me is resolved like that. Mostly.
Unfortunately, it does not apply to me. For me, that serum even has a different effect. When the serum injected to me, I feel extreme pain. It feels like my flesh is torn apart, my bones broke simultaneously continuously, my body feels hot, burning, like burned alive. That pain makes my body paralyzed in a few days.
Alhold was a renowned family with great achievements from generation to generation. On the family record, the Alhold is a nest of Talented person, even Special. If outsiders want to marry Alhold, their achievement had to be great. And of course, my birth was the biggest disgrace for my family.
With my condition, I should have been banished from Alhold family and just could become a low-class worker, live with below-average payment, almost not enough for life.
Yeah, it should be like that. My life should be like that.
