I'm taking classes under the instruction of my mum Claire in the study room on the first floor, but I can’t concentrate because I can hear voices outside.
Smoky and a little bird are looking into this room through the window. The bird is not the anybird that just came, but a little bird with gray feathers. This small bird gave me the information that he saw goblins in the forest.
It seems it’s wing injury has gotten better.
Why are you here?
“What’s wrong with you Jed? You seem to be unable to concentrate.”
My mother who’s holding a book in one hand raised her voice doubtfully while looking at the window.
“No, it’s okay.”
“Is that so? It looks like you’re observing the window restlessly, what is it?”
Saying so, my mother walks towards the window.
『It’s a human! Run away!』
『Isn’t it Jed?』
『Wrong!』
『Tired.』
When my mother opens the window, the bird flys away franticly and smokey leaves.
Once my mother confirms that nobody is there, she closes the window and returns.
“It looks like there was a stray dog. Let’s continue.”
“Well, that’s enough for now. Learning history and noble manners is troublesome.”
“What’s wrong with you Jed?? You are a genius in reading and writing words, and calculus, but you hate other studies.”
“Because I’m the third son, I won’t take over the territory, and I don’t need noble manners.”
I still understand the use of history. But where would I use noble manners? I’m the third son right?
“You’re so good at reading and writing, so if you go to school, you can aim for a court job. Isn’t that enough?”
“That’s what the chief maid Elerka said.”
“Yeah, but it’s true.”
Elerka, the chief maid, seems to have worked as a maid in court, and in this mansion, she is a very good woman who has the most rights apart from our family.
It’s true that it’s tough, though. It feels relentless even if I try to keep on top of my lessons.
Because reading, writing, and calculus get more difficult as time goes by.
I’m sorry about the school evaluation, but I have no intention of doing so.
“I don’t feel like working at the court or going somewhere.”

My mother asks in a terribly surprised voice in response to what I said as a forecast of the future.
“…. I want to travel around the world as an adventurer.”

My studies ended early and my mother went somewhere to talk with my father.
I’m happy about it, I now have some free time.

I speak to Gladys, who is swinging a sword in the garden, and go out.
I got caught by the words “Don’t go near the forest filled with monsters.”, so I decided to go to the forest behind the house.
Still, Gladys is growing up and is becoming more like his father. He’s tall and has muscles. I want you to give some of those muscles to your brother.
I’ve been to the west forest not to far away, but I’ve never been to the forest behind the mansion.
