The whole Asma village can be seen from the mountain. Fences and walls have been built in a large circle, that remind you once again that this village has grown so much.

Until a few years ago, there was only a few people and homes, and that made me feel lonely.

The power of people is amazing. We can get this far in only a few years.

『My goodness, is this the rumored Jed able to talk with animals?』

A gentle voice calls out to me whilst I’m admiring the scenery.

When I crane my neck towards the origin of the voice, I hear “I am here” directly above me.

When I look up, there is n owl perched on a tree.

“T-that’s right.”

『So that’s it. The rumors seem true. It’s really interesting to be able to talk with a human.』

“I suppose the rumors have spread to here.”

『Yeah, so many birds were announcing it, so I think every animal here knows.』

“… I-I see.”

I found out why I keep getting called out like this. Where the birds flying here and there? It seems like you can talk to them even if you don’t go to see them.

『Still, the scenery here is beautiful. Until night, I relax, watch the scenery and sleep.』

“I didn’t think that there was such a beautiful place.”

『Surely Jed’s residence is that big mansion, right?』

“What? Do you mean there are rumours about my home?”

That is a problem. I want you to respect my privacy.

『No, no, it’s because I’ve seen you several times from here.』

The owl slowly shakes its head.

“Eh!? But the mansion is quite far from here!”

Looking at the mansion for confirmation, I can only see the whole but not the interior. There should be some people working in the garden, but that’s it.

『Even if it doesn’t look like it, my eyes are very good. From here, I can see the kitchen through the first floor window.』

“That’s a lie right!? You can see the kitchen from here?”

Wow! It’s not something like violation of privacy. You can’t see my room from here right? Yeah. There’s no way to see my room from here thanks to the structure of the mansion. There is no problem because my window is on the other side. You can see the hallway, but that’s fine.

『Well…. A maid is polishing dishes in the kitchen. A woman with brown hair trimmed at her shoulders.』

“Hmm, it’s confusing because there are many people with brown hair.”

It’s easier to understand if they have a flashy hair colour like my mother or Julia.

『Oh, it seems she has dropped a light blue cup.』

“It’s Noel.”

It’s only Noel who can do such a blunder. By the way, when I was a baby, the maid who stepped on me was Noel. As always, she’s clumsy.

『It seems she has cut her finger. Poor thing.』

Ah, I can picture Noel’s figure doing that. Let’s give her recovery magic when I return.

“That’s amazing. Can you see others?”

『That’s right. It seems a boy wearing glasses in the mansion is getting frustrated with rolls of paper.』

“… Brother Gilion, you’re frustrated again.”

I’m sometimes surprised by my brother Gilion making strange voices in his room. It’s usually a reaction he has when he fails to use magic language.

『Next is a boy holding a sword in one hand and a red-haired woman looking for something in the garden.』

“That’s Gladys, and Julia or my mother. What are they looking for?”

I won’t think about it. My brother Gladys is just wielding a sword in the garden and my sister Julia is just at home.

『Are they looking for you Jed? It’s already getting quite late.』

When I hear the owl speak and look at the sky, it’s true that dusk is not far.

Then sun will probably set by the time I get back.

Yeah, it would be bad if I don’t return. I’ve got to go home. They’ll be angry.

“… Maybe, so I’ll go home.”

『Is that so. It wasn’t long, but it was fun talking with you. Shall I guide you back to the mansion?』

“Really? Please do!”

『No, let’s take a shortcut. It’s this way.』

I follow the owl that flies away slowly and hurry back to the mansion.
