Wang Tao and his group nodded at the man in understanding. The fact that statues could grant them power no longer surprised them so much. The world has changed, the big lizard that passed by them earlier, the dragon that came out of the black hole, their abilities and this system, the voice that they heard, there were too many mysteries that could make one ask endless questions with no answer.

The group continued their discussions, as Fire slowly approached the two kids that were holding bludgeons from the goblins. They looked no older than 12, one was a girl and one was a skinny young man with blue eyes. The boy moved two steps back holding his bludgeon tighter, while the young girl's eyes widened before squatting down and extended her hands in a hugging motion.

Fire slowly approached before he squatted on the floor with his paws stretched, as it rolled with his tummy high in the sky, looking at her expectantly. Soft giggles could be heard from the girl as she rubbed his tummy, making Fire wag his tail with his tongue out, enjoying the caressing. The young man slowly approached from the side, and with small hints of hesitation before rubbing his head slowly.

The group looked at the kids and fire as their hearts softened for a moment. Only 2 days passed since the world changed, but everything changed. Now, even though they were surrounded by dozens of Goblin corpses, they could finally breathe in relief as they heard the kids giggles, letting them know that not everything was lost.

"We are planning to regroup with the others now. Do you want to join us?" asked the man who was the leader of the group of seven

The question attracted the attention of Wang Tao and his group of three as they looked at the man, letting him continue.

"There are thousands of survivors left, hiding there. There's a hidden location under the city, with different entrances scattered. We have lots of strong people who can use Fireballs and are armed properly, just now, we were in a mission to collect water and food supplies before they run out. But who would have expected the whole supermarket to become a goblin's nest." said the man before he shaked his head

If it wasn't for the help of these strangers, they would have all died, becoming food for goblins.

"Are you guys the only ones who were sent out to gather food? What about the others? And why are there kids with you as well?" Ying Yue questioningly asked pointing at the two kids playing with Fire at the side. She found it really strange, young kids to be sent to gather food? This was the job of adults, the kids and elderly should be protected, right?

The man immediately understood the meaning behind her words. He quickly explained "If it was just about us, we wouldn't have allowed kids to come with us either. But the world has changed. This is not a matter of being a woman, a kid, an elder or a man. We are all equal in the face of a disaster. You know that you can gain levels after killing monsters, right? In this new world, even a kid can be stronger than an adult if he killed monsters and leveled up, gained abilities and learned to fight. If kids and women don't get stronger and us men are not able to protect them, they would become food even for the weakest goblins and mutated rats around the city. As long as they gain power and level a few times, at least, they can protect themselves if nobody is around them. They are the future, but that doesn't mean we can let them hide behind our backs. We, humans, are too soft. In ancient times, kids received military training from a very young age and were trained to kill. Everyone has to become stronger and our next target should be cleaning the whole city of monsters and get the Statue's Blessing."

His words shocked the group of three. They looked at the kids, as their small bodies had wounds and bruises around, holding Goblin's Bludgeons with a different air around them than the average kid.

When they were fighting earlier, the kids didn't stay hidden at the back of the group, their eyes fierce and red as they attacked the goblins. The kids together managed to kill a few goblins in the last fight and the words the man said, there was no way to deny them. Ying Yue understood, but the mentality that she grew up with in a family of policemen and learned during her work as a police officer was that civilians must always be protected and kept safe..but now...even kids had to arm themselves up and fight, making her have a sour taste in her mouth.

"But..." a hand stopped her from speaking as she saw Wang Tao grabbing her hand from behind before he shook his head lightly

"Let's go to your hidden location, shall we?" said Wang Tao trying to change the heavy air that surrounded them

He understood that everything the man said was right. There's no more rules in this world, under the lizard's feet or the dragon's massive body, they were just ants. Now, humanity no longer reigned supreme over Earth. Only two days have gone by and humanity lost their control over the world. They must now fight even just to have something to eat and survive...

He suddenly remembered the words the ancient voice said "humanity has become soft", a sharp glint flickered in his dark pupils as he thought about everything. If he grew strong enough, will he ever find out what the voice wanted to say? Will he be able to change the world's fate?

He has to grow stronger. His hands clenched for a moment before a thought suddenly struck him. Yes, he could tame another 2 beasts according to his Beast Tamer class. For now, he only had Fire and according to the system, he was only a Common-Class Beast. If he could tame something strong enough like the lizard or the dragon, how strong would he get?

"Let's go then, follow us." the voice of the leader pulled him back from the thinking before they followed behind the group

The two kids unwillingly took their hands off Fire as they stood up before going with them.

Out of the dozens of Goblin corpses, they haven't found even one Metallic Case on the floor, which puzzled them greatly. It seems like the drop rates have changed and only in the first two days would it have been easier to get items and skills.

As they moved through the alleys, they soon found a small Bar called "Beer and Friends", causing Ying Yue to give a small laugh at the strange funny name.

They soon entered inside, as they saw two man guarding the stairs for below looking at them with pistols in their hands. As soon as they saw the group of people, one of the man's face broke into a smile before taking the leader in a bear hug.

"Li Wei, you're back! How's the situation outside?" asked the man after they had their small brotherly reunion

"Terrible, the supermarket is under the control of the goblins now, they have eaten most of the supplies. We were ambushed by dozens of Goblins and if it wasn't for this young man and his friends, we would have all died, becoming food for those damnable midgets" said the man as he pointed at the group of three with a smile on his face

"Thank you very much for helping my little brother, i am indebted to you. Come, let's not talk outside anymore, let's go inside and find our leader, we have to immediately inform him the news regarding the supermarket." the man immediately thanked them with a very grateful smile on his face, before he turned around and moved downstairs

The other man nodded at the group, letting the group pass. One of the men from the group of seven stayed behind with the man.

As they moved downstairs, the air turned heavier as a wave of bad air washed on the three. The smell of perspiration and feces made the three frown, but the man leading them seemed like he was used to it. Moving forward, they soon saw a spacious hall that could hold thousands of people.

The population of Yon City used to be in the milions, now reduced to only a short ammount of 10 thousand.. and it happened around the whole globe.

Wang Tao and the others didn't dare imagine how many people died in the last two days, but the number could have well reached a number of billions of people!

No wonder even kids, women and elderly had to assist in killing and fighting. There was no other way around it.

In the hall, they saw groups of people training how to use bludgeons, swords, kitchen knifes, machetes and all kinds of melee weapons that could be seen in the house.

From what they saw, Wang Tao and the others immediately understood that everything he had seen related to apocalypse in movies, documentaries and books was all bullshit. He was told that in the face of a disaster, people would go insane, murder , **** and fight each other, but looking at the people's sharp gaze as they focused on their training, the elderly who helped the injured, the kids who were doing psychical training with their small bodies instead of crying, was this the bullshit he was fed by the media before?

No, just from this sight, he could feel it. A humans potential increases the more disastrous the situation gets. None of these people gave up, everyone was doing their best to survive and fight for the future. Is this what the voice wanted to say?

"We are here." the man's voice pulled them back from their thoughts as they entered into a room, seeing a man sparring against another using real swords

The men moved like lightning as they barely managed to glimpse at the sword's shadow.

"Phew, our boss has gotten even stronger!" exclaimed the man in surprise as he saw the boss pushing back the other man, before another slash threw the weapon off the man's hand and the sword's edge stopped just beside his neck

One more centimeter and the man would have been beheaded! Wang Tao and his group looked at the man, eyes almost popping out of their sockets. What level has this man reached to be so strong?

"You're back" said the man slowly as he turned around to take a look at the group, as his eyes landed on Fire for a moment, before looking at the three newcomers
