They did all they could to ensure this expedition will succeed, even with their lack of powers to help them. Even this small gesture left Wang Tao and his group stupefied as they looked at the people.
"This is a human's will" came the voice of Huang Lu as he appeared behind them, as he spoke to them while munching on his bread and bacon.
"Regardless of the outcome, we will do our best to ensure that as many brothers and sisters survive today." continued the man

His only hope was on the Dimensional Merchants that were supposed to arrive after they cleaned the city! What was even stranger was that beasts couldn't get closer to the city anymore. A few of his subordinates scouted and said that the beasts are stuck, as if they met an invisible wall.
'It has to do with the mission and the appearance of Dimensional Merchants' thought Huang Lu to himself, not daring to say the words out loud
"Yes, it is so. Humans always grew from calamities, we are like cockroaches, we will adapt to anything!" said Wang Tao with pride.

Clapping his hands to get everyones attention, Huang Lu raised his voice before saying "We will be leaving in one hour!"
With that, he turned around, motioning to Wang Tao and his group to follow him. As they moved deeper through the ruins, the smell of blood was getting stronger and stronger as they furrowed their brows.
'Where was he bringing them to' wondered Wang Tao as he followed behind
"We're here." said Huang Lu after they walked for like five minutes
In the middle of the road stood a small mountain of mutated rats. Some were split in two, some were missing limbs or were beheaded.
None of them died with an intact body!
"When we first took refuge down here, there were Mutated Rats everywhere. We had to kill to survive, and today we're going to do just the same! I have a gift for you, Wang Tao, follow me!" said Huang Lu as he moved closer to a room at the side
Screeching sounds and the fluttering of wings accompanied by creepy cries came from inside the room. The three immediately readied their weapons, but soon put them down after they saw Huang Lu open the door, holding his sword.
Just as the door opened a shadow appeared at incredible speeds in front of Huang Lu, as a pair of claws closed in towards his neck!
"Careful!" Roared Wang Tao, but Huang Lu's expression remained one of indifference
With the hilt of the sword he struck the beast at lightning speed before the claws even reached his neck. The group finally managed to see the beast as it was sprawled on the ground, it's body twitching trying to get up but to no avail. The power of a level 12 Swordsman surprised Wang Tao even more, his eyes burning with desire to get stronger
"How is it? It's powerful! Do you want to tame it? My subordinate found him last night as he was patrolling, it was feasting on the bodies of the rats. For a moment i wanted to get rid of it, but then i remembered you and your Class. If you can tame it, you will be of greater help later on." spoke Huang Li with a grin on his face, as he looked at the young man in front of him
Just from the few words they exchanged he could see that the boy was not so simple as he looked. Just his points of view and the way he looks at the others with pride, made him truly satisfied. He had a feeling that if this young boy grew stronger, he would become a pillar for the future of humanity.
Wang Tao was shaken by the words of Huang Li. How long has it been since someone was so thoughtful to him? He has only met this man yesterday but he was already giving him such a nice gift! Just looking at the creature his eyes lit up in delight.

It's strenght was not weak either, it's sharp talons and wings were a nightmare to anyone fighting it. It moved like lightning, if it wasn't Huang Li with his level being double than it and his Class changed, they might have very well died against it before they could even fight back!
Excitement was evident on Wang Tao's face as he looked at the Baby Kikiyaon. The group took two steps behind as they let him get closer to it.
The Kikiyaon resembled an Owl, but it's size was half a meter, it's feathers of green color, big wings and a pair of eyes that could suck your soul up. His talons were so sharp that you could see your reflection in them, he didn't dare imagine how sharp they were! If they would touch him, he would be cut into slices like tofu! It wasn't an exaggeration to say that everyone outside of Huang Li would have lost their lives to this night predator if Huang Li didn't find it out first!
Perspiration fell down on the others backs as they looked at the Kikiyaon. They were actually sleeping and a deadly creature like this was just a few hundred meters away from them!
Looking at the Baby Kikiyaon struggling on the floor, Wang Tao pointed at it with his finger before calling softly "Seal!"
Dozens of chains appeared out of the void before they immediately surrounded the Baby Kikiyaon on the ground, not giving it any chance to retaliate.
Seeing this skill, Huang Li's eyes lit up as well as the other two followers of his who looked at Wang Tao. They didn't know this young man had such an incredible skill on his arsenal!
Even Huang Li, if he would have fought against Wang Tao, if the boy managed to cast the spell on him, he would be dead in just two seconds if he could not move!
One has to know, the strength and power of a level 12 and a level 2 were on totally different levels, but even he knew that if he could not move, he would still die if they shot him a few times with a TypeF gun!
"Contract the familiar!" called Wang Tao lightly before a magical circle appeared around him and the Baby Kikiyaon
The Baby Kikiyaon screeched and cried loudly in panic, but it could do nothing as the chains held it tighter and tighter.
After a few seconds, the chains disappeared followed by the magical circle under Wang Tao. The bird stopped screeching and crying desperately, before only a few soft owl cries could be heard as Wang Tao moved closer to it, patting it's small head.
"You have successfully contracted Baby Kikiyaon (Chief)."
Hearing the notification, Wang Tao breathed a sigh of relief. This was his second familiar and it was a mythical beast at that! In comparison to the common rank of Fire, they were world's apart.
After the Baby Kikiyaon was succesfully contracted, Fire slowly approached it, before it raised it's paw at the Baby Kikiyaom, petting it lightly with his tongue out, tail wagging.
The Baby Kikiyaon looked at this stupid, strange creature slightly before it pecked it slightly on the forehead, turning around to stand up.
A questioning gaze appeared on Fire's face as it looked at the Baby Kikiyaon before jumping at it, his paw slapping the beak that pecked it. Still dizzy from the hit that it received from Huang Li, the bird struggled to stand up before a shiny, red butt fell straight on it's face as Fire took a seat on his head with teethes out and a strained smile as he looked at the stunned bunch of people.
"I'm the boss..." a soft telepathic voice could be heard in Wang Tao's head as he looked at Fire with a wry smile on his face
"Your familiar's intelligence has increased by 1."
