Having finished treating his and Fire's wounds and packing the little rations he had in his room, Wang Tao quickly left the apartment.
With a baseball bat in hands and his best friend following close behind, Wang Tao's confidence increased to another level! Having someone watching your back always gives a sense of relief and safety to anyone.
As he was moving through the alleys while keeping watch to the warzone outside which was getting worse by the second, he suddenly stopped behind a crate after hearing noises.
"Stop! Fire, don't make any noise!" said Wang Tao as he peeked over the lid just to be surprised at the disturbing sight that entered his sight.
Two goblins armed with bludgeons stood crouched down devouring what looked like a stray dog's body.
Seeing the poor animals cruel death, anger engulfed Wang Tao's mind! These bastards!
As if feeling his masters anger, Fire's eyes turned into a burning fire as he dashed towards the goblins, not bothering about getting discovered at all.
"God damnit! Let's do this! It's just two midgets, what's there to be afraid of?" angrily roared Wang Tao before making a mad dash towards one of the Goblins who was startled awake by Fires charge.
As a natural hunting dog and one of the strongest breeds on Earth, Fire swiftly ripped the Goblin midget into pieces before it could even react.
Following close behind, Wang Tao's baseball bat fell hard on the other Goblin's head before a cracking sound could be heard as his head got dislocated, and it fell heavily on the floor not waking up again.
'Huff huff' heavily breathed Wang Tao as he looked at the corpses
"Good job, Fire! Looks like these midgets are not as ferocious as they look." a small grin formed on his face before getting replaced by a saddened look as he gazed at the poor dismembered dog's corpse.
"Bastards!" with a kick, the goblin's corpse flew a few meters away, tumbling on the ground before it finally stopped at the edge of the road.
Just as he wanted to move on, he noticed that a metalic box stood in it's place. If he wouldn't have kicked the golbin, he would have passed by and never notice it!
Looking at it, information poured inside Wang Tao's head.
Weapon Armament Box - Grade F
Filled with curiosity, Wang Tao approached the box before pressing the button in the middle. With a cracking sound, the box opened into three parts.
In the middle stood a pistol with two different ammunition types on both sides.
"Common Pistol-TypeF - 1-3 Damage. One of the most common pistols that exists."
Happiness welled inside his heart as he looked at the pistol. Discarding his Baseball Bat, he immediately picked it up before loading it with Normal Ammunition. Out of the two types, he had 30 Normal Ammunition and 7 Fire Ammunition. Having received military training in the past, he knew the importance of Fire Ammunition, so he kept it all in a pouch for later.
"Let's go, Fire!" pleased with his first earning, Wang Tao left through the alleys before he headed to the outskirts of the city which led to a major forest protected by the state.
Up in the sky, the black hole took a shade of red as if it has been washed with blood. People all around the city were fighting with the Goblins and other different creatures. Some of them armed with swords, bludgeons from the Goblins while some of them wielded bows. Only a rare few had pistols, where if one took a closer look, they would be surprised that it would be the same as the one Wang Tao just got.
Having reached the main bridge that connects the Silver City to Yon City Wang Tao was surprised to see the policemen who formed barriers with heavy weaponry pointed at the people trying to cross.
"Halt!" seeing him approach, a female police officer stopped him a few meters away with a cold look on her face.
"I am a citizen, why do you stop me?" angrily criticized Wang Tao. Having finally escaped from the center of the city and now being stopped at gun point, anger surfaced inside his heart.
"We are truly sorry for this, but the whole city is in a state of emergency! Our orders are to only let women and elderly pass first and because the army has not arrived, according to the Legislation of National Protection In case of Emergencies, any man above 16 is to report for duty!" coldly blurted the woman before pointing to two different officers to bring Wang Tao inside a building close to the bridge.
As the door opened, the police officers shoved Wang Tao who was followed by Fire inside, before slamming the door shut in case they want to escape.
"What's wrong with those ****? Emergency state? National safety? Legislation? Bullshit!" angrily roared Wang Tao before looking around.
Inside the room were a lot of men, armed with random weapons that he has seen were wielded by people in town. There was a man with a bloody scar on his face and even one that was missing two fingers. Every person inside emanated a heavy pressure similar to that of a drawn blade. Seeing that, Wang Tao could not help but back off a little bit.
"Boy, you don't have to be so scared. Come here, let these big brothers show you how to escape such situations! Hahahahaha!" A crisp voice sounded from another corner where a group of big bodied guys with hulk-like statures full of tattoos stood. A few of them still had bloody scars that have not been healed yet, but their eyes were filled with a tinge of excitement that couldn't be hidden.
"How about you join us? We'll blow this building away and escape! Police? Government? Legislations? It's all bullshit, i'm telling you! We all ran from the city, where those damned midgets, massive spiders and other creatures attacked us, and now that slut of an officer wants us to protect them while they run? Don't make me laugh."
Looking at the men, Wang Tao immediately understood the situation. They too, like him, were stopped from running away and now they are gonna be used as cannon fodder, flames of anger immediately surfaced inside his heart. He has seen the situation in the city, there's no way he will go back and die a meanigless death without a proper burial place!
"But how do you plan to do that..?" asked Wang Tao curiously
"We'll take it as a yes! Brothers, who is with us?!" roared the burly man who was clearly the leader of the pack
"Let's do this!" a loud shout in unison from the people inside that made ones blood boil with fighting spirit could be heard from afar, to the point that even the military officers who were protecting the bridge heard it and grew alarmed.
"What's going on?" asked the police officer who sent Wang Tao inside the building earlier
"It seems like they are not gonna listen to our words. what should we do, milady?"
"Stop them! If they are still dead set on, don't be afraid to use heavy fire!"
The words of the woman instantly chilled the man's heart before he turned around and gave orders. A squad of seven armed officers closed on to the building, but just as they were a few steps away from the door, a massive boom echoed with the door took flight high in the sky, stopping right in front of them.
"Stop!" roared one of the officers as he saw the situation worsening
As the crowd rushed out, they noticed the officers and a small playful smile appeared on the leader's face before a fireball appeared above his palm which flew straight towards the group of officers.
"Boom!"
Just like a grenade - the fireball flew in front of the police officers before it suddenly exploded into a fiery fire. The closest policeman who had his submachine-gun readied for fire took the full brunt of the fireball before he was knocked a few steps back, falling on the floor like a broken doll. Wether he was dead or he has fainted, was unknown.
"Now, who's gonna stop us brothers from crossing the bridge!?" said the leader before another fireball formed inside his hand.
Seeing this, the policemen's faces changed. Not willing to give in, they immediately readied their weapons once more. But...it didn't take long before they started running for their lives like a pack of stray dogs.
Some of the men that were part of the group took out Pistols similar to the one Wang Tao had, while in other people's hands appeared different types of magic such as Fireballs, Ice Spikes, Earth Spikes.
Looking at them, Wang Tao was truly flabbergasted. He thought that he was special because he received the Beast Tamer Class, but he has never expected that the others would have such awesome abilities. A tinge of envy flashed inside his eyes as he looked at them, before it got replaced with a resolute look. He too will get awesome abilities like that in the future
Following close behind the group as they headed towards the bridge, a tinge of excitement bloomed inside his heart. Which men never dreamed of having special abilities? Flight? Being a necromancer that summoned armies to fight for him? A king? One of the greatest swordsmen! A mage perhaps? Thinking about his future, a grin unknowingly formed on his mouth.
As soon as the group got within a few hundred meters from the bridge, the officer lady raised her hand giving the policemen from behind a signal. Shields were laid down while different types of heavy weaponry were put in the spaces aimed at the group. Seeing this, some men flinched and anxiety fell upon the group.
"Get back inside the building and wait for your orders, otherwise we'll be forced to attack!" barked the woman coldly towards the group.
Some of them have already retreated to the side due to the pressure while Wang Tao was just a few steps behind the the group of tattooed hulk-like gang. If he retreated just like that, what would he do? Sent back into the city and die without a proper burial? There's no way he would allow that! Plus, these guys did not look scared at all. They must have a few tricks in their sleeves, right?
Just like he thought, the leader of the group laughed out loud at the police officer's act before a fireball formed inside the man's hand.
"You wanna go for a round, beautiful? We'll try to be merciful..it would be a waste to damage that slutty body of yours.." said the man with a lecherous gaze as he stared at the woman's private parts smacking his lips at her accentuated curves.
