When I woke up, I found myself in a strange room. The lack of visibility made it so I couldn’t see anything.
I felt a throbbing pain in the back of my head where it had collided against the floor.
I think I have a bump on my head.
I tried to check it with my hand, but it seemed to be tied behind my back and I couldn’t move it.
As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I looked around the room again and saw that it was more lavishly furnished than the Count’s room.
In the center of the room, there was a bed by the wall.
There was a chest of drawers by the bedside, which reminded me of a typical room in an aristocratic house.
One of the characteristics of the room is that the interior is designed for women.
The bed is white with gold decorations. The bedding is decorated with lace and frills.
There was no light in the room, so I couldn’t make out the colors of the room, but the curtains looked somewhat floral in design.
I was lying on the floor, but the carpet was fluffy and my back didn’t hurt.
The creaking pain was probably due to the fact that I was tied up and couldn’t move my body.
My legs weren’t tied up, so I got up to my knees and then stood up.
I turned my back to the door of the room and grabbed the knob with my hand and rattled it around, but it was locked, as it should be.
A thick curtain hung over the window.
I manage to use my elbow to try to get into the gap between the window and the curtains.
It’s dark outside the window, and there is no clock, so it’s hard to tell the time, but I’m sure that it’s not too late into the night.
You can see the royal castle in the distance, and because of the close proximity of this place from the royal castle. You can guess that this is the section of the town where nobles lived.
I tried to open the window, but it was impossible due to the fact that my hands are tied and the window latch is quite high.
I managed to push the chair beside me to a nearby desk using my foot to move it around, but then I suddenly hear voices from outside the room.
I hurriedly pulled down onto my flouncy skirt and sat down on the floor.
The door to my room was then opened.
“Hi, Cosette-sama. It’s been a while. How have you been?”
There …unexpectedly… It was Alfred-sensei.
The lights in the room were lit and my eyes fluttered.
“Alfred-sensei…”
“Oh, you’re not too surprised. Is this what you expected?”
“That’s not true. I’m surprised. I had no idea you were so close to Remias-sama.”
If he was going to try something, I thought it would be related to Angela.
I didn’t understand that because I thought he was rather hostile to Remias-sama.
Alfred-sensei lifted an eyebrow and smiled in an amused manner.
“Remias-san… it’s not that I’m particularly friendly with him. This time I had a little help. I’d rather have the opportunity to get to know you.”
“Get to know me…?”

I stared up at the doctor in astonishment.

“Yes, that’s right. All the Signora products you’re designing are groundbreaking and wonderful. Now you’re going to do that for me. You can’t say no to me, can you? I can’t let a frail young lady like you escape from here.”
“My father will find you soon enough. I’m the daughter of the Count. I can’t imagine that him taking this lying down.”
“Haha, there’s no way I’m going to get caught here. That’s why I had Remias working for me, you know. He’s my scapegoat so no one will suspect me even if he’s caught. He doesn’t even know I’m involved in this.”

This country is monogamous and only the king can have a side room.

“Of course, it’s my side room. Your beauty is too good to kill.”
“Only a king can have an entourage. Or do you think you’re the king?”
He laughed like a fool
“I will be the king. I will have Angela, who is of the former king’s blood, as my consort. The current royal family will be defeated by the former king’s daughter and returned to its rightful place in the family. You will marry me, who helped you in your mission, and you will succeed to the throne. There is no queen in this country, so I am the king.”
“What the hell are you doing … staging a coup? But then, it’s not my business. Just send me home.”

The doctor laughed like a madman. Though Leonhardt will have to die eventually, he said.
The doctor spoke to me for a few more minutes and then walked out of the room.
Since my life is in his hands, he must’ve let his guard down and thought that it’s safe to tell me everything.
Well, now I’m going to make a brilliant escape and expose everything!
But I haven’t come up with any plans yet…
To sum up the teacher’s story, it seems that the Duke of Doranju was threatened by Alfred-sensei after he got the evidence of the prior king’s poisoning.
The military equipment that the duke had lined up was directed by the teacher to stage a coup d’état.
The teacher didn’t say it outright, but it seems that Remias has been placed under house arrest because he sensed that the duke was trying to stage a coup d’état.
I was supposed to be killed, but apparently I managed to survive because of my talents in product development and other areas.
From the doctor’s appearance, there is not much time left until the coup d’état takes place.
I don’t know when the decision will be made, but if I don’t get out of here as soon as possible, His Highness will be killed.
The doctor locked the door, but he untied my hands.
