Chun Hwa Obtains Lamia 9

Chun Hwa, who had fallen into tranquility, heard the sound of someone breathing and slowly began to regain his senses.

He felt languid and tired as if he was waking up from a profound abyss. After regaining his senses, he was unable to open his eyes immediately. He checked to see the condition of his body, then proceeded to chant a mantra to protect it.

Now that Chun Hwa had his guard up, he slowly opened his eyes and turned his neck to where the sound of breathing could be heard.

“I’m glad to see that you’re awake. Now, can you tell me what happened?”

It seemed to be a person that had spoken. He was sitting on top of a rock, and had a gentle voice and long golden hair.

“Who are you?”

Chun Hwa was confused to see someone acting so familiar with him when it was the first time meeting him.

“You can’t tell after hearing my voice?”

Thinking for a moment, Chun Hwa tried to find whose voice it was within his memories. It was a voice he was kind of familiar with.

“Greydrone?”

With the look of a handsome middle-aged man, he was sure that it was Greydrone.

“There’s no reason for you to be so surprised, because this is magic. It’s called polymorph.”

As Chun Hwa got up and was about to say, ‘what’s magic?’, he suddenly felt something familiar grasped within his hand. It was the magic sword Lamia, which was still placed within its red scabbard, and the handle was what was placed within Chun Hwa’s hand. He continued to look back and forth between the sword, and Greydrone.

With eyes full of suspicion, Chun Hwa stared at Greydrone, as he lifted up the sword. It was much lighter than he had thought, and almost felt as if he wasn’t holding anything. In this type of situation, there was only one thing that had popped into his mind.

“Why is this in my hand, Greydrone?”

Before Chun Hwa could even lift his head up to look at the dragon, the dragon was shaking his head left and right.

“That’s what I want to ask. From my point of view, you were the one that had grabbed Lamia, and after that, a sudden light appeared and you were lying on the ground. No way…..were you really about to get Lamia’s recognition?”

However, Chun Hwa wasn’t sure.

“I don’t know. Maybe? Maybe not? I definitely heard the name Lamia, and then heard a girl’s voice asking me if I would be with her forever. So, I agreed to do so on impulse. The next thing I knew, I saw a girl appear out of nowhere……..and that was the end of it.”

Greydrone was silent as he stared at the sword within Chun Hwa’s hand. He then looked away with distress, as he was at a loss for words.

“I see……Have you finally chosen your master. I waited 10,000 years, and this human…….I guess it can be seen as a good thing.”

“Wait. Does this mean that I’ve become this sword’s master?”

Greydrone nodded his head. Half his mind was disappointed, while the other half felt that everything was for the better.

“That’s right. That stubborn girl chose you to be the master. I wonder why? Maybe she was also worn out. Becoming the master of that sword means the affiliation of the absolute…….”

However, not knowing Lamia’s true power, Chun Hwa brusquely brushed it off as if nothing special happened. He just felt that he had gained a decent sword.

Having no regard for the sword that he had obtained, Greydrone was not fond of Chun Hwa’s attitude. He had never even once thought that a human like Chun Hwa would become the owner of Lamia.

Furthermore, Chun Hwa was acting so nonchalant with obtaining a sword that was more than he deserved. Although Greydrone was doubting the reason why Lamia had chosen such a master, it wasn’t any concern of his. But still, it was understandable to feel complicated regarding his evaluation.

“It’s something you should be happier about, you little brat. You’ve received Lamia’s recognition. Thanks to you, I can finally rest after 10,000 years. I’ve guarded that sword much longer than my body’s limit.”

Chun Hwa could feel that Greydrone felt relaxed. However, it also felt like a burden was being placed onto him. He thought that he had to now protect the sword himself, past his body’s limit. Past his body’s limit? Thinking of another question within his head, Chun Hwa felt confused.

“Does that mean you’re going to die?”

Greydrone looked like an old man that had released all his worries.

“That’s right. The average dragon’s lifespan is about 10,000 years. If one gets chosen as the Lord of dragons, they get an extra 5,000 years added onto their life. However, I’m already 16,000 years old. I’m way past my due date.”

Chun Hwa’s face became extremely absurd.

“Then what about me? The only existence that I know of in this world is you. If you disappear, then I………”

Chun Hwa felt extremely gloomy.

‘I really want to cry. What am I supposed to do in this unknown world, when I don’t even understand or speak their language…..’

As Chun Hwa was tearing up, Greydrone was surprisingly laughing.

‘This dragon is really getting on my nerves.’

As Chun Hwa was falling into despair, Greydone began to say strange things to him.
