“Oh! Cezara, how do you do? It’s been an extremely long time, hasn’t it?”
Swiping my golden curls out of my face, I push past Liechten who had been scowling like there is no tomorrow.
“How do you do, Flora. I suppose that’s true. I did end up dropping out of school, after all.”
“Oh, that’s right. Your face at that time looked so wonderfully stupid… It was a masterpiece. Don’t you wish you could have heard the happy conversation we all had after His Highness threw you away?”
“Florence-sama!”
“Aw, such a cute knight you have, Cezara. Though I do wonder if you even have any decent servants here. There seems to be no guards, no knights, and you have no personal maid. You must have really fallen from grace in the Rufus family.”
“Don’t you dare insult my sister.” said Liechten, sliding in between me and Flora once again. Now that I look at him, Liechten certainly has grown a lot taller and his body has become very sturdy. I also notice that his voice has also become a lot lower…. Ahh, where did my little angel go? As I was thinking about these inconsequential things though, Liechten was seething in rage.
He is acting like he wants to strangle Flora, yet she is just continuing to stand there with her chin uplifted, provoking him with her very best villainess expression.
I would have liked to admonish his behavior, since a noble, and especially someone who is going to one day become the head of the Rufus family, should never expose his feelings so obviously like this, but it doesn’t seem like now is the best time for that.
“Liechten, it’s fine. Thank you.”
“But, Sister!”
“Flora? Please stop provoking my cute little brother. Aisha, Elena, won’t you stop enjoying the show and do something about Flora?”
“It’s just that I never imagined that tiny little Alten Liecht to grow up into such a dreamy young man. Isn’t it fine to let us enjoy the view for just a little bit? How stingy.”
“No, that was already long enough.”
“Cezara~~!! I wanted to see you! I didn’t think you would end up being sent this far away!” said a redhead as she hurled herself at me. I could just barely make out the indistinct freckles that remained on Aisha’s lovely face as it broke out into a huge grin.
“And you guys didn’t tell me about any of this. I didn’t know that any of this would happen. How could you not say anything to me?! You all, have you even thought about what you did?”
Thinking back to the three shaking figures that had been standing behind the enraged prince, I had unintentionally raised my voice. I guess at this point, I don’t really have any right to scold Liechten, do I?
“Cezara, how do you do? …….. are you angry??”
“How do you do, Elena. And yes. Obviously! Elena, I had thought that you at least would do what you could to stop these two from going wild, but to think that you actually joined in….”
“Still, I’m glad that you seem to be doing well, Cezara.”
Downhearted, Elena cast her eyes to the floor while Flora merely shrugged.
And Liechten, who had been standing right in the middle of all of this chaos, was absolutely dumbfounded.
“That wasn’t okay! What would you all have done if you were punished too!?”
“Um…….What??”
Exclaimed my poor little brother in confusion.
